Five Guys Burgers and Fries

Very friendly employees and very good food, if you don’t mind about a five-​ten minute wait to get it. But it’s always fresh and you can taste a difference. This is one of the few places that also does bacon right on a burger. Wendy’s 4/​$ 4 may be a good deal, but they can’t get everything right. Five Guys may cost more, but it’s so worth it. They dump a bunch of fries in the bag with a beautifully cooked burger and a smile on the side. Their ketchup containers are huge so you don’t have to keep refilling. Sometimes they skimp on the napkins, but just ask for a few more and they’ll give you more than enough. BUT keep in mind, you may end up coming often like I used to, it’s just damn good food. Plenty of seats all the time except occasionally when groups of students come in, but you’ll find a seat, just maybe not the one you wanted. I’ve had no problems parking in the lot across the street (Trader Joe’s) but I keep it quick. Little burger = 1 patty, regular = 2 patties. Remember this or you may not be able to finish.
Side note: I once got an extra free patty because they accidentally threw an extra one on or something. So, they can hook you up once in awhile. And they will shoot the breeze with you if you look bored. And pay attention for your number, pick a seat and wait by the pickup, it just makes everyone’s experience quicker and more organized.

Wonderful crew! Always courteous and friendly. Five Guys’ burgers are always made to order, so expect a wait. But, it’s well worth it! The fries are also yummy. Such a treat eating here!

With a flat top grill much longer than necessary (not being properly used either), two double sided deep fryers and six employees on deck, a staff large enough to accommodate 75 people given the menu. You would assume this establishment runs fluently and efficiently, and at times it would appear so, but that is not that case. Destroying your food is exactly what they are doing, literally slamming out your burgers. Not sure if they know this but once you smash those burgers like they owe you money, you lose most of the flavor and moisture of the burger. While waiting for my pick up order I heard one of the employees (short skinny hispanic girl) say to the grill cook,” flip and smash those burgers!” this is usually a technique done out of desperation to catch up on orders if you are running far behind schedule… it was Dead! and unfortunately so were everyone’s burgers. They were so flat, it resembled roadkill. I wasn’t sure if he was making burgers, or ground beef for chili the way that flat top looked, and it was only six patties at most. If you can’t handle six patties on an enormous flat top grill such as the one in this kitchen you need to find a different job, cooking is seriously not for you. If it wasn’t for all the toppings they offer and stockpile on to a soggy bun, there would be NO flavor. The burger itself would be unpalatable. This wasn’t the first time I saw them smashing burgers, I’ve been there several times and each time I see them smashing burgers I pray that mine weren’t treated as poorly. Pretty sure its just their forte now, Laziness.

I’ve never written a Unilocal review before but felt compelled to after my experience at this Five Guys location. I have always enjoyed this franchise and want to note that this review is about the customer service vs. the food. The burgers are quick and fries are good.
I just moved in to a new apartment and was excited to see a 5 guys across the street. I ordered online this evening and walked over about 10 mins later and arrived 5 minutes or so after my order was supposed to be ready.
There were only 2 other people in the store (1 already eating) — I was not greeted by a single person upon entering (so okay whatever) and headed to the area marked «Pick Up» — There was an employee standing about 1 ft in front of me who did not even acknowledge my presence, so i stood and waited. The other person’s name was called and they went and got their food. So now i’m the ONLY person waiting on an order and still no one has acknowledged me. Finally, I SEE my name on a ready to go order — so I said politely «sorry, you didn’t call my name but I see my order over there just want you to know i’m here» I kid you not, the ENTIRE line of employees (about 4 or 5) started arguing with me, saying «Yes we did WE CALLED YOUR NAME!» and i was so taken a back, I go «I’ve been standing here and I don’t think you did», and the female employee tells me «Yes we did, but YOU did not do this right. You are supposed to go to the „Order Here“ section before „Pick Up“ to tell us you are here. You did not do that, so we did not know… so you need to walk over there»
Perhaps that was my mistake? But either way, if I’m the only person in the store a simple «how can we help you?» could’ve helped me understand I wasn’t following their strict order process. I was fuming, but walked over there where another employee gave me my receipt and said «don’t worry ma’am you’ll get to eat your burger» while literally laughing at me. Even though no one acknowledged me when I walked in, I certainly received several «Have a nice day!» condescending shouts as I left.
I realize that if the worst part of my day is when the employees at Five Guys make me feel like an idiot, then overall things are good haha, but i just had to write this. It was cathartic and as a manager I would be appalled if my staff treated a customer like that ever. Probably for the best that I will not be going back, those fries are delicious and their rudeness will save me some calories :) Either way SHAME ON YOU SUNDAY STAFF!!!

Not real sure what some people are expecting when coming to this place? McDonald’s fries are better? That’s sad to the point of laughable! Chemical laden crap vs cut and cooked fresh. Sorry but no comparison. My experience at 5 guys was excellent as expected and this location is awesome. The employees make it even better. They were singing and smiling and enjoying their time at work. Keep up the good work and kudos to the workers! Great job

Les recomiendo si nunca fueron o no conocen la historia, ver el capítulo de Man vs Food que habla de Five Guys. Es excelente! No el capítulo, sino la historia.
Y el punto principal, es que no quería convertirse en cadena por miedo a perder la calidad de sus productos. De hecho, no tienen delivery porque las papas llegarían húmedas, y no sería lo mismo. La primera vez que fui, me dieron las papas en la bolsa de papel y la cerré de arriba para llevarla a la mesa y me cagaron a pedos! Hay que llevarlas abiertas para que no se humedezcan. Hoy vas a comer y dice en un cartel escrito a mano, de qué finca son las papas de ese día, que cortan a mano y son geniales!
Parece que las papas son las protagonistas, pero no! Las hamburguesas super riquísimas, obvio que también tienen versión vegan, y todos los toppings son gratis. Si bien sale bastante más que Mc o Burger, no tiene nada que ver y es EXCELENTE. Cada vez que viajo voy.

Performed above expectations. I hadn’t been to a Five Guys establishment prior to this, but I’d be hard pressed to imagine people that were more enthusiastic than those running this particular joint.
Burger was fresh made and delicious. Legit that all the toppings are included so you’re able to step up your burger game without stepping more out of pocket. Value + Delicious = Awesome.

The first thing I like about this place: the free, in-​the-​shell peanuts. Not only does it attract peanut lovers like me, but it keeps all the families with whiny, peanut-​allergy-​having kids. away. (Just kidding, kiddos: If they were serving dust mites over a bed of pollen plants, I’d run for the desert hills myself.)
Do too many cooks spoil the broth? Perhaps. The place is good for a fast food place: the burgers are cooked to order and the fact that their patties are never frozen is likely responsible for their good flavor and chew. The fries were «meh» on my crispy outside/​fluffy inside scale. Service was very friendly both times that I’ve been. Prices are reasonable too, at least for the burgers. A smaller size of fries at half the price would improve the offerings.
If there weren’t a bevy of good burgers at non-​chain, locally-​owned burger palaces and joints in the city, the place would probably rate a four (maybe a five in the ‘burbs or beyond).
Final verdict: Three guys out of five. The other two can hang around and have a beer or two; just don’t hover over the grill and fryer guys with your «helpful» suggestions; and don’t even think about touching those tongs to press the meat down on the grill (and squeeze out the juices)). If you do, then as the burger Nazi might say, «No snoop (ing) for you!»

Their food was not worth all the hype for me. I have friends who love their food. I tried their burger and fries. I was not impressed. The burger was huge and it was good but I don’t think it’s worth the trip or the price. Their fries are separately priced and I regretted getting them. I would rather have mc Donalds fries… then again who can beat mcdonals fries. still their fries were probably one of the worst I had. :-/
Would I go back? Maybe if I’m really craving burger and it’s nearby.

I visited Five Guys for the first time here. It’s very delicious! I like the taste of beef there!

People who don’t «get» what’s so great about this place have just been missing out on great burgers their whole life!
I’m from the DMV area where this place originated, so I’ve been a fan of Five Guys forever. Now I’d weigh 300 lbs if I ate here all the time, but I do appreciate having a great burger joint in my neighborhood. The last time I was here, James, the night manager was fantastic and hooked me up. I mean, I’ve always had great service with these folks, but he was particularly friendly and welcoming to all of the guests. Oh, and they also have that fancy coke fountain machine where you can mix and match a ton of combinations… pretty cool with that’s your thing! LOL.
Fun fact: DMV = DC, Maryland, Virginia ;-)

I went here for lunch and this place is like a fast food joint for burgers, hotdogs and fries. I try their hotdogs with fries. I must say I didn’t like the hotdog and fries I got but I ate it. I wouldn’t go back to this place unless a friend wants to go who never try it and by then I would have yet need to try the burgers people rave about. The waitstaff was friendly and attentive to my needs but the wait time was a little longer than I expected since I only had an hour lunch.

I wasn’t expecting much because many people overhyped Five Guys.
But I must confess, I really enjoyed their burgers and fries. I order single patty with lettuce, tomatoes and mustard, and they’ve always been delicious to me.
I still don’t understand the hype but their food is very good. Not to mention, the fry cup was always overflowing with fries: d
I used to eat there often since my school was really close by. The staff was always friendly too.

picked up burgers for my kids, surprised to see that they have only 2 kinds, hamburgers and veggie burgers. I like the help your self, free roasted peanuts which is kinda cool to munch on while your burger is being cooked.

I’ll admit this place had some really good food, the cheeseburger and hot dog were both really good, the hot dog is sliced open, which is different, but what won me over was the cajun fries, they were so good, couldnt get enough of them, plus you get all the free peanuts you want in the store, the one downside tho is that I had some major gas afterwards and into the next day, idk if wanna go through that again, but i might endure it cuz theyre so good
