I just ate my first Chicago style hot dog at Max’s Take Out earlier today. It was great and I gave them five stars. I felt the need to try another one later in the day and came across this place in the Unilocal reviews. The price was a little cheaper $ 3.40 here and close to $ 4 at the other place. The quality difference was huge though. This place had hot dogs with very tough and chewy skins, the peppers were also chopped up and not evenly placed. Because it’s such a simple food little mistakes really hurt it. I would not recommend it or go again.

I got two Chicago dogs and cheese fries to split with the hubby. The Chicago dogs were yummy and flavorful. although, I wish the Chicago dogs were a tad bigger. The cheese fries were a disappointment though, the fries were a bit soggy and there wasn’t enough cheese. i really wish they put the cheese on the side. besides from the cheese fries, the food was great and we got our food very quickly

Mother fucking heavenly, Go here every day, three, four times. Fuck your arteries, life is too short and DDawgs is too damn good. Bravo DDawgs for dishing out uncompromisingly majestic feats of gastronomy. All hail to your greasy magnificence, 27 stars and counting. P. S. anyone providing a bad review to this bastion of deep fried love is a no good lettuce eating, paleo dieting chauvinistic piece of quinoa and should be sentenced to a lifetime ban on Unilocal reviews! do you guys seriously get off to ripping on unhealthy«non gluten free» establishments? pathetic, you have all made an enemy for life!

Went here most of the week during IML as it was close to the hotel, and open late. I tired: — Taco dog — bucket of fries with cheese bacon onion. Second visit. Chicago dog, Bull Dawg. Decent hot dogs. Very fast service. and they have Coke Zero! Prices are also super resonable. Why only 3 stars? Well I felt I had a better Chicago Dog at the airport, and the Bull Dawg was downright nasty. It came on a giant and very stale bun, and it was greasy and gross. Would I eat here again? Absolutly, just wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here. 3.5 stars.

I had to stop by and grab a Chicago dog while in Chicago and this place did not disappoint! Their Devil Dawgs were about $ 4.95 each and mine was loaded with caramelized onions and delicious chili peppers. We also got their delicious onion rings with the side sauce and the breading on the rings were light and not too heavy — perfect! When I walked in, there were already a couple parties situated and eating but there was more than enough seats left. You order at the counter and take seat while waiting for them to call out your number. We didn’t grab any milkshakes but noticed everyone else was. which means they must be doing something right! I will definitely be stopping by again next time I visit Chi-town :)

Delicious hot dogs with all different twists and awesome fries that you will not be able to finish all for a very affordable price. Would go back the next time I am in Chicago immediately.

Ok, that hit the spot. Take out of hot dog, onion rings and a clucker sandwich. Counter guys were efficient, friendly and burly. Chicago dog was everything I expect of a CD. Right mix of squish and crunch and snap. Could’ve used a bit more celery salt, but overall solid. Rings were battered grilled onions. Carmelized and sweet as candy. Ate some of the chicken sand and saved the rest for breakfast. It was gigantic and delicious. A bargain at 4.99. Overall impression — Crunchy and buttery. the pretzel roll was pillowy but chewy — able to hold in the juicy fried chicken and the mystery sauce and a hint of slaw with a slight bite. Thanks Devil Dawgs, you did right by this out of towner.

That chocolate/peanut butter shake though! Not good for you, but good for ya taste buds!!! Open pretty late but college students pack the place out after partying @ nite so be prepared for a wait if you’re trying to soak up the alcohols. I’ve gone during lunchtime hours and its not so bad. Ive had the chicago dog(standard, but good) as well as the fried chicken sandwich(huge and tasty). The Nate Dogg(paying homage to the late hip hop soul singer) is very awesome as it has sriracha, peanut butter and onions on it. Fries are good especially if you add cheese of course. Guys behind the grill are cool!

Awesome shakes and hot dogs. I got Chicago dogs, boys got double burgers which were the size of sliders so if you’re super hungry get 2. Good for late night grub.

I got a Chicago dog and it reminded me why Chicago dogs are amazing. The fries were perfect and the onion rings were so crispy.

Hotdog was nothing crazy. Regular hotdog with a cucumber that wasn’t fully pickled, peppers, mustard, and the other regular. I put together a better dog. Cheese fries was awesome! Cheesy, fatty, and greasy. Perfect snack for post workout lol. Overall, great spot for hot dogs on the go because there’s not enough seating and people are assholes here when it comes to seating. Like seriously?

Good for the price I guess. It’s like a fast casual hot dog place. We had a restaurant full of college kids when we went. We ordered prob four or five dogs and sausages to taste. None stuck out. I can’t even remember them except the Chicago dog, Korean sausage and Mexican sausage.

After traveling out of the country for a few weeks, all I found myself craving was a Chicago dog. Devil Dawgs is located in the south loop, which isn’t particularly close to me, but I made the trip after reading some reviews. Man, am I glad with that decision! Their menu was filled with different variations of hot dogs from classic to creative. My boyfriend and I tried a Chicago dog(always a winner in my book) and a Sig Ep dog. Both were great. The Sig Ep dog was topped with grilled onions, BACON, spicy sauce and a pickle – definitely inventive and delicious! Looking forward to coming back.

I’ve had better, I’ve had worse, but c’mon, Devil Dawgs, this is Chi Town!!! Get your Dog Act together. Both my Chicago Dog and my Chili Cheese Dog had soggy buns, which dampens the enjoyment of this potentially delectable dining experience. The cheese whiz on the Chili Cheese Dog should be replaced with real cheese and it would be a major upgrade. The chili was OK. The cook squirted the mustard on top of the dog, instead of inside on the bun, so it made for some extra messy consumption. The chili cheese fries were awful, just a big convoluted mess of goop. Nothing special here in Dawgville and it was a major disappointment for Chicago dining.

This is the perfect place to go to for a hotdog fix. They have all the local favorites. You can’t go wrong with their traditional Chicago Dog. Since I already had my fill of Chicago dogs and I was severely intoxicated I decided to try something different slash buckwild. I asked for the«most ridiculous thing they’ve got» and they made me The Bull Dog. I was too drunk to remember what was on it but it was fantastic. I think it may have been sweet. Anyway the picture is below so you be the judge. It was 6 bucks and we’ll worth it cause of its size. I tipped the guy 4 bucks so he would make it more reDONKulous and oh boy did he. I recommend doing what we did. Go next door and get a small personalized pizza from Lou’s so you can save room for a sickTASTIC hot dog. Here’s a link to their menu ENJOY!

Right outside the Harrison«L» train stop… the Devil Dawgs neon sign is a sight for sore eyes(literally) at 2:30AM. Stopped here for some dawgs after a long night with some coworkers on a company trip. Definitely a great place to stop by for a hot dog on your way back to your hotel room. Myself and two of my coworkers stopped in and never having tried them before, I asked the cashier«this might be a stupid question…» and proceeded to ask about their menu. At 2:00 in the morning, with a smile«there are no stupid questions here at Devil Dawgs» was his reply before explaining what exactly goes into some of their more«creative» named dawgs. For the price of a frappuccino, you could have a delicious, heart stopping, hot dawg to end your glorious night.

This place is the epitome of a cheat meal. While visiting Chicago, we couldn’t resist the appeal of a Chicago dog. We got that, but wanted more. That’s where Devil Dawgs comes in. My husband and I ordered a disgusting amount of food. Among those foods were a chili cheese dog, bacon dog, burger, onion rings, and fries. OH. MY. GOD. Grease was seeping through our pores after, but it was worth every bite. The onion rings were freshly battered and fried to perfection… same goes for the fries. The dogs were equally amazing. Of course, after that big meal, why not get a hand-crafted milkshake? We split a chocolate peanut butter shake and it was probably the best milk shake I have ever had in my life. They have big thick straws to match the big thick milkshakes. Everyone who works there was super helpful and happy. I can’t wait go back and gain another 20 lbs from this meal. At least Chicago is a walking city!
