I had a craving for Mediterranean food last night and couldn’t decide where to go. True to my lazy nature, I chose the place closest to my apartment – it was definitely the right choice. I ordered the beef shawerma over hummus, which came with a mini side salad, delicious spicy dressing, and pita, as well as an order of fries. The fries reminded me of Burger King fries(which I secretly love… shhhh), and overall, the food was great. The person behind the counter was super friendly, and my food came out quickly. I’ll definitely be back.

this place is just simply awesome! Not only is it VERY affordable– it is fresh and tasty. The Kufta is my favorite with a side of their splendid humus — I really did that they sauté fresh veggies to go with your entrée — I had mushrooms, squash and broccoli that came with the meal as small side. I always hit up this place when I am the neighbirhood

So I have only been here once and didn’t eat a massive amount of food, but I can confidently say that I would come back again. Now, this was by no means a perfect experience. In fact it was far from that. I just wanted a snack lateish one night and my husband and I stopped in so I could pick up a cup of soup. My husband ordered a veggie wrap. It took about 20 minutes for us to get our order and we were getting pretty antsy. But it turns out that they had run out of lentil soup and they made a new batch! At 9PM! Now, that night I just wanted to get in and get out so I would have preferred for them to just say they ran out of that soup and offer a substitute soup. That would have been totally ok. But they clearly take pride in their food, particularly the lentil soup(based on the description on the menu), and I suspect that maybe Amzi wanted a new customer to taste the soup and like it. Well, it was definitely tasty and very smooth. I would have preferred less salt, but that’s just my personal taste. The veggie wrap was pretty good and actually could have used some more seasoning, in my opinion. This is a small operation… on my visit it was one guy working the register and grill(guessing that was Amzi) and a woman(maybe his mom?) walking back and forth from the back kitchen. There seemed to be some regulars in there, mostly enjoying plates of kebabs. Oh, I should mention that Amzi was apologetic about the wait and put 2 pieces of very tasty baklava in the bag for us. That was a very nice touch, considering our order was so small. I didn’t realize this was Egyptian food when we walked in, so that was pleasantly surprising since it’s not a cuisine we see too much of over here. I’ll definitely be back to try the kushari, which I’m kind of fascinated with. They also have house-made pickles, which I think I saw a table receive and they looked really beautiful. Like I said, it wasn’t a perfect experience, but I appreciated the heart and soul of the place and the pride in the food. I will definitely be back sometime soon, and will bring more patience with me! :)

I ordered the hummus(small), what I would call a «greek» salad(romaine, tomatos, onions, feta and klamata olives w/olive oil — not listed on the version of the menu on the website), as well as the falafel sandwich(to go). The portions were generous enough that I made 2 meals and a sack out of it. Everything was handmade in front of you(aside from the hummus — but that was portioned infront of me, and the pitas — which were warmed on the grill in front of me) — and to your liking. It is clear that the folks running this place put a little of themselves into serving their customers — the food is very delicious. The store is conveniently placed for me — I walk past it 2 – 5 times a week. I will be back to try other menu items! The only downside was the salad was packaged in a container that was easy to turn over in the bag and I ended up with dressing/oil mess — but the food was so good I can’t take back a star… I might recommend a tightly sealed container for your carry-out customers for the salad(and other potentially messy items) like you do for the hummus.

OMG I am always looking for great Middle Eastern food. I am an old school addict of Pita House( ) so I put this food on a high level. I ordered via grubhub, the combination plate, 6 Falafel, Hummus. Baba Ghanoug, The Combination plate consisted of Shish Kabab, Kufta Kebab, Chicken and Beef Shawerma, and Falafel. All were good, the steak shish Kabob stole the show, it was amzing good. I added Chicken Taouk for a buck more. I also like the Kufta very much. Hummus, was delish, perfectly smooth and tasted great. Rice was delicious, had slivered almonds was hot and yummy. Baklava was good, flakey, great nutty flavor. Konafa was good, nutty, I am really wanting to try the cream(cheesy) Konafa, Tahini was amaze balls,. Really it was that good. I did miss out on some of the spicy sauce, I didn’t get any. Overall best mediterranean food i have found thus far, Falafels almost as good as NESH.

Fresh and delicious. Chicken shwarma, baba ganoush, Mediterranean salad and tabouleh — all incredibly delicious, light, perfectly seasoned and very fresh. The pita was just ok, though. Maybe warmed would have been better. We will definitely be ordering from here again.
