This was my favorite place to get cheap good food in Lakeview and they had the best gyros and falafel. I’m so sad they closed.

Why did you close? I loved your food. Do you have another Falafel restaurant I have been gone for couple months and you are gone

Closed about a month ago. Paper on the windows and a «coming soon» logo on display. They had standard Americanized Mediterranean fare. Was always super cheap and not terrible.

I’ve pass this place a million times and always wanted to try it, but I never had until now. One word: yum! I only tried one thing, but it was amazing. I had the falafel sandwich, and it was only $ 4! I can’t wait to go back to try everything else!

Very friendly crew. The food is tasty as well. I’d recommend the kifta sandwich with a side of rice and tahini sauce. I’ve been in here when they have had to deal with unsavory customers and they handled it like true professionals. Would highly recommend.

Stopped in after I jumped off the Red line. Good find! Spinach fatayer was spiced well and dough wasn’t too thick. Hummus portion was large and came with grilled pita… enough for two people so I’d get that again. Chicken shawarma sandwich was tasty… mix of white and dark meat… grilled and in thin pita the way it should be. I’m Lebanese from Dearborn, MI so I’m picky when it comes to restaurants like this but I’d come back here again. Give them a try!

I just tried this place on a whim – it’s a pretty unassuming looking place – and I was stunned by how awesome the food was. I got the vegetarian combo platter and everything was delicious. The falafel and Jerusalem salad in particular were exceptional. Generally the food was staple Middle Eastern and wouldn’t have been anything out of the ordinary except for how delicious it was. The restaurant is incredibly convenient to a lot of the theaters in the Belmont area and less than a block from the red line. I’ll definitely be going back!

Had the beef shawarma sandwich here and it did not disappoint. Fairly large portions for a very rare price. The sandwiches are made directly in front of you and came very quickly, then again the place was empty. Quality of meat was also very good, would definitely come back again and highly recommend.

I come here all the time. I love this place! They have a great combo plate special… and the best garlic sauce around. Yumm.

I used to love Sinbad’s and went there regularly, but this place is even better! I had a chicken wrap that was EXCELLENT: moist, perfectly seasoned, fresh vegetables, tasty sauce. I’ll probably go to this place even more than I went to Sinbad’s, Look forward to trying the rest of the menu.

This is my favorite falafel place in Lakeview. I always get the veggie combination or falafel sandwich or both. You get so much food for the price. The flavors in the falafel, the humus, the baba ganoush is rich. the bread is soft and warm. I brought the grape leaves to a party and everyone loved them. They have a nice spice to them The ambiance would be great except the florescent lights are harsh. Otherwise clean stone and granite makes it feel modern and new.

This place has my favorite falafels because they’re a little spicy which makes them awesome. Good sandwiches too. A bit on the pricey side for mediterranean food.

Gyros are one of those greasy delicious treats that taste so much better when you can see them glistening on the spit. The pitas are toasted and loaded with a generous helping of gyro meat, tomatoes, onions and tzatziki sauce. In the short stretch of Belmont in between the el stop and Clark Street, you’ll find several competitors touting their gyros. One of these gluttonous days, I’ll have to try all of them and do a comparison, but Falafel and Grill is definitely a contender.

I’ve grown up on Middle Eastern food and this was quite good, I got the lamb kebab platter and with the bread and hummus, what a magnificent and delicious meal! I got a HUGE portion that I finished by giving it to someone that needed/wanted it more, as I couldn’t finish it all and wasn’t close by enough to get it home in time to save it for later. The lamb was juicy and succulent, and the bread was piping HOT out of the oven! The hummus was very much authentic and delicious(I only eat the normal/plain flavor), and the saffron rice was the perfect piece de resistence.

They had a gyros sandwich special that was very garlicky and generous but not greasy. They are very friendly and the restaurant is pretty. Lebanese food never fails.

Amazing shawarma. Amazing hummus. Quickly made and well prepared. Food is delicious. Try this place. My only suggestion is to add more acid to the tabouleh. Other than that, I can confidently say this is the best shawarma I’ve had since in the Middle East.

great mediterranean food in a cozy place with nice people. its a small restaurant but very clean. bathrooms were clean as well which i really appreciate. i had the grape leaves & gyro sandwich. both were delicious and flavorful. they put a lot of meat on my sandwich cuz sum places dont always do that. my homey had lentil soup, tabouleh & a falafel sandwich. he was quite satisfied with all his food. the tabouleh was very flavorful & fresh & couldve eaten a huge plate of it! there are tons of restaurants in this area but this is definitely worth trying & going back to!

Middle eastern is one of my favorite foods and I have been pretty disappointed with the options in Chicago, so I tried this place with a friend hoping for the best. We were pleasantly surprised as it was by far the best middle eastern I’ve had since I moved to the city. The lentil soup was tasty, hummus was tangy and quite spicy which I liked, and the falafel was moist. My friend had the chicken kabob which he said was amazing. Can’t wait to go back and try a few more things!
