waited 10 min for a cornbeef sandwich with zero other customers in sight. meanwhile 2 homeless men ate sunflower seeds and rolled cigarettes inside the restaurant. the cornbeef was very chewy.

Thin crust cheese pizza that is delicious and fairly priced. They have pineapple Fanta, which pleased me greatly. The guys behind the counter and by the oven are amicable and attentive. They take payment after the meal so you don’t feel rushed. Stop in for a bite, there’s more then just pizza too. Happy customer. P. s. If you get off at Sedgwick, it is so worth it just to j-walk right across the street.

We ordered our usual extra large pizza with extra cheese and extra ground beef, and never disappointed. Tonight we had the taste for grilled chicken wings, and the owner made some for us, and OHMYGOD, they were DELICIOUS! The meat fell off of the bone, and the seasoning was detectable! I haven’t tasted such amazing grilled wings in many years, and thank you! They weren’t on the menu, but he seasoned them perfectly! If you haven’t tried 5 Boroughs, or haven’t eaten here in a while, please order and enjoy! Great food!

For being a sub place they sure don’t have a great sub. Never tried the pizza but seeing how they did on the cookie I think I am all set there. The onion rings are below average. Wings are okay.

Mediocre pizza and really greasy. The delivery guy was a dick too. Definitely not Chicago style pizza. The cheese doesn’t even taste like cheese.

Ordered an extra large half cheese half giardinara. Ordered it pie cut… Like a typical NY style pizza. It was delivered party cut and about 30 minutes after it was promised, and cold. On top of that, prices listed were wrong as the delivery driver said. I expected to pay about $ 20 and I was over $ 30 after delivery charges($ 5). If you’re looking for good pizza, this is certainly not the place to go.

Worst customer service and delivery ever! Order was an hour late and never received my food! When I called to speak to restaurant, they said delivery driver was out and could not update me on the status! Restaurant could not give me an accurate Eta, they keep telling me 5 minutes for an hour.

Best. Cheese. Fries. EVER. — Seasoned fries and meticulously placed melty cheese = what dreams are made of. Also perfect thin crust pepperoni. Not sure if it’s comparable to NY style but its perfectly foldable and totally satisfying. This place is more than just a local pizza joint. It’s a neighborhood staple. Go there a few times and they’ll remember your favorites. I completely adore everything about this place: Late night spot with craveable food and great owners: This is one of those spots that is just so perfectly Chicago and impossible not to fall in love with.

Bleah! That is all you need to know. Just go to the mini mart, buy a Tombstone and thank me later.

Pizza was pretty garbage and expensive. It’s conveniently located by the brown line, but still not worth the location and convenience. Avoid. Place is always empty too.

Have you ever ordered a meal and when it was served, you actually expect to get sick? Well, that pretty much sums up my first(and last) visit to Five Buroughs.

Come here for some good New York style pizza in Chicago. Though I have never been to New York and actually had this kind of pizza I have seen plenty food shows to get the idea of what New York Style is. Large thinly sliced pizza that you fold. It was really good here and the service is friendly. They have some seating and a TV. It is conveniently located right off of the Brown Line stop at Sedgewick and is open late. I’m not in this area often but I would suggest coming here for a good slice of pizza. $ 4.40 including tax for a slice of pepperoni

This was quite possibly the worst food I have ever eaten. It took forever to make a gyro and fries. I heard multiple microwave dings. The fries and the meat on the gyros were both way overcooked. Like beyond anything I’ve ever attempted to eat before. The gyro meat was harder than beef jerkey. You could literally pick a piece up and snap it in half. Never again.

Personally I like NYC pizza more than Chicago style even though I’m from here and this place was great. The owner, Mohammed, is an awesome guy, great in small talk to make you feel welcome and just all around made me feel good supporting local v big franchise places. The price did make me feel ehhh prior to seeing the slice, but the piece was huge, fresh and I think it was worth it. No probs recommending this place to people.

DONOTEATHERE! The best part of the pizza was getting to the crust. The pizza had an overwhelming taste of garlic and it was so greasy. We didn’t even finish the over priced pizza. I would rather eat at little caesars. I hope i don’t get food poisoning. I should read these reviews first.

Since leaving Chi-town, and enjoying many other pizza establishments, just coming back onto Unilocal and re-reading my review of this place literally makes me cringe again — that’s how AWFUL this place truly is. Go away you awful, awful place!

I was on my way home after 12 midnight and hadn’t eaten dinner. Nothing was open except Subway which I didn’t want. As I looked on Sedwick I saw a sign below the Sedwick station, 5 Boroughs Pizza & Subs. They serve pizza by the slice, just what I wanted, not too much and not too little. When I walked in I saw two very nice man behind the counter, I ordered a piece of pepperoni pizza to go. The service was very fast and they were very courteous. It had been Nonna’s Pizza before, but had become 5 Boroughs several years ago. When it was Nonna’s the pizza had a lot of cheese but no flavor. The pizza was a little salty when I got it home but had a great taste, after I warmed it up again. I read some of the comments on Unilocal, complaining that the owner was not Italian. Who do makes the pizzas at all the other restaurants? Doesn’t really matter as long as they do a good job? They are opened in until 2AM on weekdays, and Friday and Saturday nights until 4AM. In addition, they have subs, salads, and desert items. While you are there you can even purchase lottery tickets, too!

I had heard about this place before and really wanted to try it. I like to support restaurants that cater to the Zabiha/Halal-eating population, but my experience here was really, really bad. A friend and I get to the location at around 11:30AM, to find the location closed despite the hours listed on the door saying that the place should indeed be open. There was a man sitting inside who saw us standing there, but for the longest time he ignored our presence. When we knocked on the door to get his attention, he started making weird gestures(and couldn’t just open the door just to tell us how much longer till the place opens up or why they’re still closed). We came back 45 minutes later to find the restaurant STILL closed, with the man STILL sitting inside. We tried to call the location to see if we could understand what indeed was going on, but no one picked up. As someone who tends to give the benefit of the doubt, I still do not understand why this happened and why we couldn’t just be told kindly what the situation was.
