Motel 6

For a motel 6… It’s as good as your going to get, it’s by no means a four star resort, but it def is a four stars motel 6… It’s clean, free parking, free coffee and the check in man was super nice. Also it isn’t check out until 12 which is so nice. Not walking distance to main Charleston (18 dollar über) Didn’t try the pool and smelled a little damp in room but wasn’t expecting the plaza. It actually exceeded my expectations so that’s why I think deserves the high rating.
To the people complaining… It’s a motel 6… You get what you pay for. At the end of the day it’s a bed. If your that picky try finding somewhere that is less that 60 bucks per night on Memorial Day weekend!
Anyway if I come back to charleston, I would stay again for price :)

This Motel 6 is the exact reason why one should ALWAYS check Unilocal before every outing. I tried to explain this fact to my husband but he wouldn’t listen. Maybe he will listen now because after staying 2 nights at this Motel 6 we couldn’t wait to head back home.
During our trip down to Charleston we booked 2 nights at a Hampton Inn (which was lovely) and 2 nights at this Motel 6. This Motel 6 was just awful! When we arrived at 11pm there were people hanging out on the balcony smoking and staring at everyone. The so-​called non-​smoking room reeked of smoke and there were burn holes in the top sheet. What should I expect really when there is an ashtray in the non-​smoking room with a no smoking sign on it. Wha? The walls were super thin and I could hear talking and TVs all the way in to the wee hours of the morning. The bed was awful too. I could feel every coil and spring in the mattress. To say I barely slept is an understatement. The whole room was just so uncomfortable.
Do not stay at this Motel 6! It will ruin your vacation!

Room had been smoked in, a/​c sounded like it was going to come apart, floors were sticky, mattress was dirty, asked for a non smoking room and goods be choice would a/​c. Was told booked up, noticed couple non smoking rooms empty. Told to call back about a/​c if noise continued, continued. Was driver of bus for a school group. Sprayed everything down w/​disinfectant, got some sleep not much. If have choice will not stay here again or recommend.

We booked a quick mini vacation with not. I time to plan. We have never visited the area before and knew nothing about it. I booked off of Expedia and it was really cheap. $ 60 per night. I didn’t expect much from a motel 6, or a room of that price point. First glance I wasn’t disgusted at all. 2 story place with a labyrinth of walkways upstairs, narrow path.
The non smoking room was definitely a smoked in room. And I mean heavily smoked. All our stuff on the way home reeked. I always bring our own blankets and this hotels linens are the reason why; many many stains of a nature I wish to not imagine or speculate. I ripped them off and used our own. The one star I gave this place was it’s shower, that’s some seriously amazing water pressure…
So at night, you’ll hear loud laughter, yelling, talking and screeching people, many trucks and vehicles driving loudly, car honking, slamming doors.
Very creepy extended stayers hang over the balconies and watch you come and go.
At one point I considered calling Americas most wanted to let them know I had found a number of individuals they’re likely looking for. There was a pool, kinda murky but the pool guy came to clean in the morning so my kids were allowed in.
While we are swimming in the pool at 11am Saturday morning all manner of merge by vehicles descended upon the motel to arrest someone in a room. We left precisely then.
Worse than all that? The beds and pillows are the most uncomfortable things ever and my while family woke every hour in misery, all considering the car as a great alternative to the room.
Don’t stay here.

Friendly front desk and they have a pool which is good to get out of the SC heat (not sure on cleanliness…) however the ‘non smoking room’ STUNK of smoke. It was the kind that gets into your nostrils and doesn’t get out. Eek. Also saw a drunk lady get arrested. Interesting scene. Also lots of random guests just hang off their balcony and watch you as you drive in or out or move around. Creepy. Luckily we were only in for late night and out as early as we could be in the morning. Will never stay at a motel 6 again.

Went to our room and noticed bed pulled. Out from the wall and the baseboard ripped from wall and laying on the carpet… we ran RAN and asked for a refund and never looked back. Don’t stay here.

Friendly front desk. Noisy late night and creepy characters. Smoking room had burns in the blankets. Wouldn’t stay again.
