Conviently located near shopping and dining, this hotel has been a pleasure to visit! The bed was more comfortable than ours at home. The lobby, corridors, elevator and, most importantly, room are all very clean. The free breakfast buffet was typical. Nothing special but not bad. The pool is small but inviting. We will definitely stay here again.

Hotel has a great location in relation to all the attractions and places to be. Everything is within 5 – 10 min drive without having to pay 300 – 400 a night in downtown. Rooms are 100 – 150 range in spring months and while there are prob cheaper in this area, this spot was very clean, super comfy, and the breakfast wasn’t half bad. The young ladies on staff are very friendly and super funny. Had a great stay! I’d definitely book here again.

We have stayed here twice on business trips. The rooms obviously have been renovated recently which is nice, but the older bones still show through sometimes. For example, the shower heads are new, but the old water pipe for the shower sticks out of the wall too low so you get a weird mix of old and new. Another issue has been the lack of any real ventilation in the bathrooms. Been in three different rooms here and none have a fan and all have had mold on various places because of the water not being allowed to move around. The rooms have somewhat of a damp or humid air to them but not enough to make it smell moldy. The staff has been nice, but there was one or two occasions where I felt like I was a bother to them instead of being taken care of. Beds have been clean, but a little lumpy if you’re picky about that.

I stayed here just one night on a visit through South Carolina. I was a little worried when I walked in because the lobby smelled kind of like smoke. I asked about it and the she said some customers go right outside the front door and smoke and it blows back into the lobby. That must have been the case because the room was fine. It was clean and the bed was really very comfortable. The room was very small but it was just my sister and I so it wasn’t too bad. If we had been a family of four, though, it would have felt crowded. The breakfast in the morning was complimentary and it was very good. They had an automatic pancake maker. You pressed the button, told it how many pancakes you wanted and they popped out of side onto your plate. They also had really good cinnamon rolls, sausage, eggs, cereal, etc. Check in and out was easy and the staff was very nice.

I am giving this Holiday Espress a 5 because of the value you get for you money. The hotel must have just recently been renovated. The rooms were attractively decorated, very clean, and quite. The beds were comfortable. Everything looked new. The staff was courteous and helpful. We also got a great breakfast that include scrambled eggs, sausage, hot biscuits and fresh fruit. We are snowbirds, headed to Florida. The day before we stopped at a Cracker Barrel and paid $ 25.00 dollars, with tip, for their breakfast that was not nearly as good. Yes, it wasn’t in town, but an easy drive to everywhere, if you have a car. If you don’t I noticed an Enterprise Car rental across the street. We paid 109 dollars– well worth and a 5 star hotel for budget prices.

We stayed here for one night approximately 7pm-9am. The hotel is decorated in 70’s turquoise and chrome style and the lobby had a cool water feature. The staff was courteous and the rooms were very clean and came well stocked with a mini fridge and a microwave(seriously wish more hotels would have a microwave). Oh– and free wi-fi! There was a free breakfast buffet that was surprisingly well stocked with the typical continental fair and yogurt, sausage, eggs and a waffle making machine. This is a good place to stay if you’re visiting Charleston and have a car to take you into the city.

What we expect of Holiday Inn Express– really clean, nice rooms, helpful and friendly staff, good price. Breakfast was well stocked. Lots of parking. Clean pool. Great location on a main highway, near lots of shopping and restaurants and only 10 – 15 minutes from the historic district. This is a good choice if you are looking to avoid the high price to stay just a few minutes further in town.

What makes this hotel shine is the super friendly staff that they employ. The rooms are clean and the linen is always nice, white and inviting. The morning breakfast is an added plus, except I’m a northerner and can’t get with the biscuits and gravy thing. The workout room is cozy, as well as the pool. One of my pre-requisites in staying at any hotel is free parking, which they have. Any future visits to Charleston will consist of me staying at this Holiday Inn, it’s great.

This place was actually really nice for the money. It was really well kept from the outside, had a nice lobby, great free breakfast, and the staff was so nice! The room was modern, clean, and very comfortable. It’s on a central road so there are a lot of restaurant options nearby, including a Ruby Tuesday just next door(didn’t eat there, but nice that it was so close). If you’re planning on visiting Charleston, you should know it’s about at 15 minute or so drive to King Street and there are hotels that are more centrally located. However, I never had an issue finding parking and it was kind of nice to get out of the main city for a little while. It was also a plus that this hotel was reasonably close(20 minute) drive to Folly Beach, which I really liked. The only two small negatives that I could spot was that the pool was really small and that the walls were just a tiny bit thin(or I had a super loud neighbor). But honestly, I had a great night’s stay and would recommend it, especially if you’re going to Savannah since it’s right on Savannah Highway.
