Comfort Suites West of the Ashley

On a trip to see a Physician at St Francis, West Ashley we were quite tired after a late appointment and actually asked at Costco of a nearby Motel. Three employees recommend this one … So, it’s well past any cutoff time for reservations, so we call motel for rate and I encountered a courteous answer from Bonita and directions. Bonita was so accommodating to all questions with a genuine concern and actually retrieved my membership number with Choice and a promotion that was ending the next day.
Our room was clean and beds were relaxing. Spacious room with HD TV, WiFi results were 3.20 DL and 1.14 UL. We had a corner room with a view of the intersection that confused our GPS on arrival… As entrance is West, Savannah. The room was quieter than expected as traffic does calm down after 10 PM.

Nice breakfast and other amenities as a heated indoor pool. With Costco, hospital, nearby Restaurants and CVS Pharmacy, we were covered for the evening.
When you enter in Bonita’s superior service it was a home run for weary travelers.

My family stayed here over Columbus Day weekend for a wedding that wasn’t at this hotel. The same day we checked in, there was a huge wedding at their location and the place was bustling with activity. It didn’t change the customer service one bit! We had an issue checking in where our reservation had said two beds and our room only had one. Charlene at the front desk moved us to accommodate our reservation right away and without problems. Our entire stay there was absolutely fantastic, thanks to Charlene, who kept customer service at an all time high with bustling activity all around her. Next time I’m in SC, I will be staying here.

Stayed here for 3 nights April 2015 and was very pleased. It was clean, has free coffee (24 hours), and a free hot breakfast — what more can you ask for! It has free parking and is convenient to downtown — 10 minute drive. We will stay here again when visiting the charleston area — it’s not worth paying the high prices for a downtown hotel when this one is so conveniently located.

I travel to charleston regularly for work and usually stay here. Odd location, in middle of several crossing roads. Getting in and out is always tricky. Not to mention small parking area. Which recently was made worse when a large number of spots were coned off, two buses were coming in. That said, hotel itself is nice. Comfy beds and pillows. Large flat screen tvs and cold fridge. What more can you ask for? Road noise can be an issue depending on what side of hotel your room is located. I just cut the fan of ac unit and it works like white noise. Location is good. Right around many places to eat and shop and only minutes from downtown.

clean, cheap and close to highway

I stayed here when I visited Charleston for a business trip before moving down here. It’s a nice hotel, with a pool inside and a workout room, and a pretty good morning breakfast (definitely more than just coffee and donuts, they had fruit, cereal, etc).
The main issue I had was parking and getting around. The parking lot is small, and you cannot make a left turn into the hotel coming off 526– you have to go down Savannah Hwy, turn around, then make a right turn into the parking lot. So… my GPS was highly annoyed at me.
I think it’s a good hotel for a night (which is how long I was there), but if I were staying for awhile I’d probably find somewhere else just to avoid that traffic nightmare of the U-​turn/​island.

Can’t complain about the hotel itself — nice suite, comfy bed, everything very clean and good service, and around 90 bucks.
I have to take off stars for the location though, in the middle of a traffic island. A small parking lot is wedged in there, and it was almost full when we got back at night — and this wasn’t yet prime season. You have to make multiple left or u turns it seems to get in/​out no matter where you are headed. That became annoying and time-​consuming pretty quickly. So 3.5 stars.

Very clean! Comfy bed! Don’t know what you could really complain about! I would have given it a 5 if the fitness center had working equipment. The treadmill runs until you step on it :(and the pully machine was extremely hard to maneuver… but if you aren’t looking to use it then it’s a perfectly fine hotel!

Great hotel. Comfortable bed. Friendly staff. Clean! Yummy breakfast. And… all for under $ 100, only 10 minute drive from History Battery Street.
