DSW Designer Shoe Warehouse

My niece was looking for shoes for prom and we scoured the mall looking for what she wanted with no luck. Another relative suggested we try DSW, so we drove there. We walked in and she found the perfect shoes within 5 minutes. We spent a little more time walking all the other aisles too. ;)
DSW has a good selection of casual to trendy shoes. They have tons of flats and heels, wedges, and athletic shoes. If you’re looking for the perfect pair of shoes for a certain outfit, definitely start here.

If shoes are your thing, then DSW is the place for you. This vast store is well organized and is a shoe shopper’s delight. Boots, heels, flats, sandals, and more; they have it all. The selections and prices are pretty good, but on occasion you can find better sales elsewhere. They do have a clearance rack in the back that is pretty hit and miss depending on what you’re looking for.
The one down side to DSW is the availability of sizes. If you have wide feet, they can be few and far between to find, if at all. The same can be said if you wear a size 10 or 11 in women’s. Like most shoe stores, they will only stock 1 of each of these sizes.

DSW has a variety of shoes at affordable prices. It’s my #1 store for dress shoes. The staff is nice and helpful.

With the arrival of fall I could no longer ignore the need for shoes besides flip flops and sandals. I walked into DSW casually, with no intention of sticking around for more than a few minutes. Don’t make that mistake. This place has hundreds of shoes. Thankfully the staff was more than helpful and they communicated with one another flawlessly to accomplish any task. One pair of Steve Maddens and one Converse sneaker for $ 80? I’m converted.

I stopped by to get some running shoes. They have a good selection from New Balance, Saucony, Adidas, Puma, and a couple other brands I don’t remember in the athletic section.
Athletic «new models» are in the middle and along the side wall, and clearance shoes are along the back wall.
It’s pretty big for «just» a shoe store. They also have casual and dress men’s and women’s shoes.
Don’t expect individualized service from a clerk. (It’s a «warehouse» store after all.) Although there’s someone to point you in the right direction, you have to find and try on shoes by yourself, then take them up front to pay.
Price is better than most dedicated retail shoe stores.
An important FYI on shoes, not all brands come in wide sizes, such as Adidas. New Balance does have wide sizes.

What a selection on this DSW. The largest in the country. How could I resist, I bought some shoes. It is my wife’s fault.

God, I LOVE this place, and that’s probably because I like to collect shoes. I discovered the joys of DSW while living in Seattle over the summer and was thrilled when I found out there was one in Carmel (even though it’s an hour away from WL).
This particular store is a bit overwhelming at first because all you see are endless rows of shoes. In the other stores I’ve previously visited, they keep the clearance section in a separate room, but this store is very much like a warehouse — it’s just one big room full of shoes (in other words, Heaven). Oh, and the clearanced shoes have colored stickers that indicate how much ADDITIONAL percentage off you get (can be up to 80% off!!)
The best part is that you can become a member and get points for each purchase. You get 10 points for each dollar on regular priced shoes and 5 points for each dollar spent on sale priced shoes. When you reach 1500 points, you receive a $ 10 gift certificate. Now, you might be concerned that you won’t spend $ 150, but never worry, my dear. They often have DOUBLE and even TRIPLE point days, which they will inform you of if you’re a member.
Additionally, DSW has an online store, and the coupons and certificates are valid there too. You can often stack online coupons too, which I’ve done before. My total discount was $ 45! I ended up returning the shoes at this DSW store, and I found out that if I exchanged for something, I could still use my $ 45 in discounts! Awesome!
The employees here are extremely nice and accommodating — even when you’re trying to return something on-​line and they’re not quite sure how to do it :) If you love shoes, you’ll love it here. They have everything from cheap (e.g. Chinese Laundry) to designer shoes (e.g. Cole Haan).

Yay DSW. This is where I go to find most of my shoes. Vast selection and a good clearance rack. They also have some cute purses, hats, wallets, gloves and other little accessories. The store music, however, is hit or miss: it can be appalling or surprisingly cool. Most people wouldn’t really notice that, but it can make or break a shopping trip for this musician.
Another good thing about DSW is that they have some kind of complicated reward points system that I don’t pay enough attention to fully understand, but I think I know enough to realize that you can probably use it to get good deals. They’ll also send you a $ 5-​off coupon on your birthday. Sweet!
