Soo awesome. Sunday breakfast Egg Benedict specials. Have been here several times and each & every time it’s awesome breakfast & dinner. Must haves for dinner, she crab soup, blue cheese dressing & veal medallions. Worth the drive from whichever beach we are visiting.

This is for the deck, not the indoor dining: Pretty awful. The deck does not face the sunset, the frozen drinks were undrinkable, the food was uneven — lobster roll was excellent, mussels were terrible, crab balls were ok, sushi tasted like it was from the supermarket. If you like to breath the smoke from others’ cigarettes & are happy with terrible service, and all you want is an excellent lobster roll — come here!

Very casual atmosphere by the marina. Good size outside bar with good choices of local brews. Great food. But what a nasty smell on their deck! That’s the reason for 2 stars. Not sure if it was trash or the smelly bay water!

The one star is for our waitress. Everything that could have gone wrong DID! We ate on the deck… no one said they were closing the deck. Waited for waitress. we ordered«steamers»(clams, mussels, shrimp, corn cob and potatoes) served in take out plastic. Had couple slices of sausage(slices!) some potatoes ANDMYCLAMSWEREUNOPENED!!!(including my wife’s.) no manager came to our table .Just to be fast we ordered fish and chips. 10 minutes later waitress came back to tell us the fish tacos are coming(FISHTACOS!!!) what about my fish and chips? I don’t want fish tacos. Oh sorry she said NOW the kitchen is closed !!! NEXT. The bathrooms are inside… they would not let my friend inside, said he had to go around front and use their outside bathroom(OUTSIDE!!!) told the«manager???) that’s really FKUP _manager said his religion didn’t allow such language, etc. As we were leaving and paid the outrageous overpriced bill the manager(?) we think he was. He pointed at us and laughed. My friend and I were ready to rumble at that point. The manager(?) said laughingly — I bet you are going to put it on Unilocal ha ha !!! And so we did.

Gotta say, we gave the place another shot since my last review and this time, it was quite nice… had a waiter named Travis and he was great, attentive, and quick to serve. The view is obviously great, makes you feel like your in Florida! The food was excellent, and I would strongly recommend if you can to go during their happy hour(3 – 6 Monday thru Friday), half off a lot of items. We got the dungeoness crabs, which were fantastic. It can be pricey in non happy hours. Anyway good spot to take in the views! Hopefully no more episodes like before

The food was hot but marginal but the view was beautiful. Coffee was good and service was poor but at least it was also slow. Had to remind the waitress for just about everything. Fresh tomatoes smelled like fish and were pale pink.

We choose this restaurant because it was in the water and had low expectations for anything else other than the view. And we were right. Terrible service, no one brought our menus waitress forgot my drink and food was gross and tasted like fish. Waitress didn’t tell us the specials I had to go down and take a picture of special board. Limited menu with no substitutes too. Gets one star because of view and nothing else.

Harbor View actually has 2 restaurants — a casual eatery out on the deck which appears to have a great vibe and then a more upscale one upstairs(and inside) overlooking the water. Since we were on a date night, we opted for the indoor option and probably made the wrong choice. The décor inside is very drab and since the restaurant is on the small side, it seemed very loud in there. I also don’t like when the first thing I see are rules such as I saw here: there were postings on the door that the inside bathrooms were not for the Harbor View deck diners, then the inside of the menu requested you not use your cell phone at the table etc. The salads and fresh bread were very good(the blue cheese dressing tasted as if from scratch) but the entrees were just okay. The scallops in my grilled shrimp & scallop skewers seemed undercooked. My husband’s crab cakes came out as big giant balls of crab meat, though when he took a bite the inside of the cake was ice cold and his dish needed to be sent back to the broiler(they did not seem inclined to offer a new meal but rather just heat up his original plate). It was an immense amount of crab meat but sometimes less is better. I did like that they had shot glass desserts which is just enough of a sweet treat after a big meal. All in all, we left feeling somewhat disappointed in the experience especially considering it’s on the expensive side. I’d like to try the casual deck dining next time. They have an area for kids with hula hoops and while the menu seemed filled with mostly fried seafood options, there was a great atmosphere out on the deck.

The food was decent, my crab cakes had to be sent back because they were not cooked all the way where it was cold inside. When I got my meal back, there was a hint of a funny taste on everything after it was in the boiler. My wife’s food was good and the clams are OK. WARNING: Their tip calculation is wrong on the check. Proper etiquette is to add the percentage of the tip before tax, not after. Shame on them. The waitress probably already knew that.

Second time we have been here and it is a fun place to sit outside with a view of the marina. Inside seating also available. We sat outside and the first time brought one of our dogs. They have food on the menu for dogs to accommodate those coming in by boat. they have trivia night which was fun to go with a group or you can meet people there and team up. Our latest trip was for lunch my group had the tuna burger which is a real piece of sushi grade tuna seared and you can get it rare to well done, served on a roll. Being gluten free I had the gluten free flat bread with roasted veggies(no stomach problems). The other members in our group had sushi. I did notice the veggie rolls had fried tofu in it so gluten free eaters just ask the right questions. Drinks are great and it is a fun place. Less crowded at lunch and more lively at dinner time. Servers were very nice and helpful. Just an FYI if this place was located in central NJ I would give a 2 – 3 star rating, but bc of the area 3 ½ star.

Wow. Not a great experience. Great to sit outside on the water but they really should string some fishing line up to keep the seagulls away from the tables and servers bringing the food out. Food was pretty much below average. Kids burgers were so over done they were splitting and falling apart. Oysters on the half shell were bad — I had to spit out both that I put in my mouth. Server was awesome! Cheerful and nice. And they have very good bus help clearing the tables — which helps with the dive bombing seagull problem. If you don’t want a good meal and don’t mind seagulls landing on your table this is your place.

Seat yourself does not work for us Service was fine Food was crap fried food: Crab balls: fried goo Conch fritters: fried corn bread Fried oysters sandwich: Frozen Fish tacos: not bad other than they don’t state that the fish is heavenly seasoned Cajun and very spicy Draft beer was ok It sucks when people come up to your table and say, «we’re not rushing you, but we want your table when your done.» Would not return

Great view, great service and good food. Nothing fancy, a good NJ shore place that is right on the water. We ate out on the deck and they had live music going. Really good place to have a few drinks and enjoy the NJ shore.

Food was ok, but not worth the prices… also we had a flyer form this place which led us there, but we noticed the menu prices were $ 2.00 higher then the flyer advertised so their flyers are misleading.

Arrived at 2 pm. Ordered drinks and appetizers, When the waitress came back with our drinks she informed us we had to be out by 3 pm because a band was playing on the deck and we had to leave because we were a family with kids! If we wanted to order it could only be fried. No class or care with the way they handled guests. Just another money grab summer joint. They wanted the cover charge more then our meal ticket. They not only lost a 200 check plus a 40 tip, they lost our business forever. Completely RUDE. Will not be back ever.

This restaurant has an outdoor bar/restaurant service as well as inside. I am reviewing both. The inside restaurant is open all year. If you happen to come here during the summer, get here early, the place is popular and they dont take reservations for small parties. They have great outdoor atmosphere during the summer, but the service can be slow outside. They have a full bar, small kitchen, and several tables outside. They have a different menu for outside as well. The crab balls were very good, I also enjoy the cheese fries as well. The food comes out pretty quickly. You get great views of the sunset whether you are outside or inside. The inside restaurant has a full bar downstairs and the dining room upstairs so it is not handicap accessible. The upstairs dining room is a great location to watch a beautiful sunset because it is all windows. They have a much larger menu in here with wonderful specials. I highly recommend the pretzel crusted pork chops with the sweet potatoes. Also, the veal medallions(topped w fresh seafood) is one of their best sellers. I do not recommend the London broil sandwich, it was rather dry and not very flavorful but that was the only item that we did not much care for and we have been here quite and few times. They hit every price point one could ask for on the menu, the portions are large, and the food is delicious. The service is also really great, ask for Tim if you go. The dinning room is open for lunch and dinner, not sure what time lunch ends but it dosn’t open until 5 for dinner. In the off season the chef gets a lot more creative with his specials and they are definately worth a try.

This is a great summer spot. I’m fact any place that has boat parking is just amazing in my eyes.(They also have car parking). I have been here for dinner and soley for drinks. But coming for just drinks and apps is more my thing. I love getting the typical summers apps(basically anything seafood and bite side) and pitchers of beer. Who can go wrong? My biggest issue with the food was the amount of sauce that came on everything. It is a great place to come but just be concise to order all meals«sauce on the side» and don’t assume anything is safe from the sauce!
