There are a few things I like about mezza. Huge fan of the lamb chops and hummus here. Probably the best you can get in the city. It’s a little pricy, but very delicious. They have different varieties of hummus too; so you can mix and match. I like a nice Malbec with the lamb; and the pricy potatoes with grilled tomato and onion brings the ensemble together nicely. The atmosphere in mezza is just ok. A little basic for such a unique place. It’s definitely on my list to revisit, and the service here is very nice and mostly accommodating for even large parties.

This is a cute place with indoor and outdoor dining, great service, and very good Middle Eastern(although they call it Mediterranean) food. The menu is divided into sections containing cold at hot«Mezzas»(appetizers), salads, wraps, salads, pizzas, paninis, and full entrees. Everything is clearly noted as to whether it is a vegetarian dish. Being a limited meat eater I appreciate that! There’s also a full bar. And hooka(if you’re so inclined). Two of us had a late Sunday night meal out on the patio. We shared an order of hummus with(fresh, right out of the oven) pita bread and veggies(tomato wedges and green pepper and cucumber slices). Everything was fresh and tasty. The hummus(housemade) was delicious! Then my friend had the Chicken Shawarma Sald and I had the Greek Salad. More fresh-baked pita was brought to the table. Everything tasted fresh and yummy. I had never had Shawarma before so I swiped a piece and then asked for three more. There’s a Nazlet Mezza Platter that has around 20 items on it and is served for a minimum of 4 people with 24 hours notice. It seems like an almost-entire sample of the menu and looks quite interesting. Anyone care to join me some time?

If I could give this place no stars, I would. I’m down in buffalo for the weekend for my best friends birthday and we decide to go to the«hookah lounge» down the street to smoke. Since smoking is only allowed outside, we asked to pull the tables closer to the building to avoid the rain but got told no even though the people next to us had pulled 3 tables in. We then wait to get seated, and when they finally come back for us the host asks«oh you guys want to stay». NOFUCKINGSHIT! Still waiting to get seated, they come out and card us after carding us the first time… Since my boyfriend is shy a year of being 21 they basically kicked us out. We’re not asking for food, we’re not asking for drinks, we just want to smoke. My boyfriend and I have been going to hookah lounges since we were 18. You don’t need to be 21 to smoke. And you don’t need to be 21 to go to a restaurant with a bar, What a shitty excuse not to serve us. From the beginning they showed no interest in helping us and a bad attitude. I can’t stress how much of a douche the host was. I then call the restaurant to talk to a manager and he hangs up on me while I’m speaking to him. This is the worse service I’ve EVER gotten. I also have heard that the food tastes like cardboard and that the back room is DISGUSTING. This place should be shut down. A joke of a restaurant and hookah lounge(who only had 4 flavors from the lowest quality of shisha to choose from btw) DONOTCOMEHERE!!!

Had a wonderful night out with my MIL and SIL. We ordered wine and split some apps– fatoosh, falafel and tzatziki. The bread is amazing here! Then we split a chicken margarita pizza, which was just a little oily. Otherwise, a solid experience. This is my go-to lunch place– easy to get to and park :)

Torn between three or four stars. However, I am feeling generous so I will go with four. I’ve only been to Mezza one other time a couple of years ago for restaurant week and I loved it. Came back last night with a girlfriend for dinner and drinks. First of all, the waiter had to come back after we placed our drink order to tell us that BOTH of us had to choose different drinks because they didn’t have the ingredients to make them, which, both were on their cocktail menu… so how do they not have the ingredients. So we each chose a different one. Luckily they had the ingredients for these. We then ordered tzatziki as an appetizer. The pita rolls they bring with it are delicious. Fresh and straight out of the oven. The tzatziki itself was a little bit watery for my liking and kind of tasted sour. We didn’t really enjoy it that much. For our entrees, we each ordered the chicken shawarma in a grilled pita wrap with a side of rice. This was my first time trying shawarma and it was delicious! Inside the pita was the chicken, coleslaw, pickles, garlic spread and tahini sauce. Nom nom nom. It was so good. We split rice pudding for dessert. It was pretty standard. Tasty, but just like every other rice pudding I’ve had. So basically I love(most of) the food and I love the atmosphere and will probably go back… maybe they were just having an off night in regards to the drinks and tzatziki? The prices are cheap and I love where it’s located on Elmwood. In the summer they have a nice patio that you can sit on. You also can pay for a hookah, if you’re interested in something like that!

Was treated out to this restaurant for my birthday yesterday. It is one of the more nicer Lebanese restaurants I’ve been to. It has live jazz I believe from 6:30 — 9:30? The staff is quite attentive and accommodating, they are swift with refills, quick to clean, and friendly. the atmosphere is quite romantic, with lighting being quite dim. But what i care about is the food. I was 50⁄50 on the food here. We went with a flatbread(think this is what they are know for?), their house salad, a gyro, and a chicken schwarma. The salad was on point, it was literally my favorite dish of the night! It was balanced in flavor, crunch, and sweet. The flatbread was next, if it came out hot, it would have been the best dish of the night. It had tons of flavor and crunch that felt light. The gyro if it had been thinly sliced lamb would have been perfect. The pita/naan/bread was on point, very stuffed, great Thaziki sauce, just the lamb was disappoinitng. But nothing disappointed more than the dinner entrée of chicken schwarma. Very small on meat, the lentil/onion/rice was like eating mush, and it was not worth the price.

Ate here on the fly with my husband on a Thurs night(2÷18÷16) since we live walking distance from it. Note: we did not make a reservation or anything, and were able to sit at a table by the grace of good timing — there was a Paint Nite event taking place there which occupied the entire upper seating area, essentially cutting the available seating in half. So, if you want to be on the safe side, I’d call ahead to see if any special events are taking place(especially before walking over in the winter time). Also Note: Their entire menu is not available at all times. I was really interested in trying the lamb tartar, but they only serve that on weekend nights. That being said: We each had some wine(can’t remember what types, sorry) but it was fine and good. What was AWESOME was the food. I had the falafel wrap sandwich(just the sandwich, no sides). It was so tasty! Only add for next time is that I’ll ask for a side of tahini or tzaziki, was a bit dry. My husband had the chicken shwarma wrap — he loved his too! Same comment about the dry factor, again nothing a dip in some sauce can’t cure. Will definitely be trying this spot again!

So let me just start out by saying if we were talking strictly about the food I’d be giving this place a 4 star review. So lets start out with the good. The Kabobs were very flavorful, the beef that I had on them was tender, juicy and seasoned very nicely. The ½ salad that came with the meal was good overall. I got the house pomegranate on the ½ salad that came with my meal and it was delicious. In fact kudos to the server for not dousing it, but putting on just enough to taste it and enjoy the flavor of the greens and tomatoes. The spicy potatoes were good overall but very salty in general. Our server was courteous the entire time, and mostly attentive(drinks stopped being refilled after the first). The wine was good. I think it was château Kara or château Karsa, it was introduced as a Lebanese wine. It had an earthy, strong flavor that was a great pair with the food overall. I will point out, before I continue, that I never go into a place looking for issues, in fact as a customer I’m fairly easy to please. With my current number of reviews(32 posted, not including this one). I’ve given 5 reviews that were a 2 or lower. However if I make it clear that I have a child with a dietary allergy, I expect it to be paid attention to. So we ordered my daughter the $ 12, greek pizza with no cheese(she has a dairy allergy). This is after telling our server that she has this issue, and asking if he could point out foods that are dairy free on the menu. When our food arrives there is cheese all over the pizza. So far no issue overall, all kitchens make mistakes from time to time. I do take umbridge at the fact that my daughter isn’t offered anything to eat until her food comes out.(Pita bread, or something would’ve been nice). I also take umbridge at the fact that she had to wait long enough for my wife and I to finish our meals. Oh this is around the time drinks stopped getting refills. After eating, we decided to get dessert. I got both my wife and my daughter Baklava, now I will post an image of the dessert menu that I was reading from, no prices, no mention of whip cream on the dessert. My daughter is given a dessert with whip cream on it. Again with the making her wait on her food to be made correctly. Oh I should mention that they got 4 little triangular pieces of Baklava. The«hypotenuse» being no larger than an inch to put it into perspective. So by this point I’m fuming about the shoddy service, the lack of attention, to a patrons request, but then I get the bill. So the tiny Baklava turned out to be a 7 dollar dessert… it took me a few seconds to breathe again after that. It also turns out that not only did this restaurant make my daughter wait on her food for a extreme amount of time and give her food that could have hospitalized her if we didn’t pay attention. But then to not even offer to comp the meal and the dessert? Again I will post an image of my bill. So here is the short of it. If you go there expect small portions of food for excessive prices(kabobs had 8 pieces total of meat that measured on the long side an inch, salad was a half salad, meal was 18 dollars) 4 miniature pieces of baklava for 7 dollars, etc. Also be wary if you have food allergies because it seems like this restaurant will not pay attention to that. But on the bright side, they will charge you heavily for that privilege. Oh I should mention that even though the server didn’t pay attention to the food allergy he still got double the tax as a tip(17.5% for those not following the current sales tax) because hey they don’t make enough otherwise to survive and I’m hoping tonight was just a bad night.

We just ordered take out for the first time and everything was delicious. All of our meats were well seasoned and prepared quickly. The order was accurate and the smell of our yummy food alone was worth it. Spent a few minutes at the bar and the atmosphere seems nice. Dark, but not too. Nice drinking and chatting atmosphere.

What a cool, trendy Mediterranean restaurant. We went last night for a quick bite and ended up staying longer due to the great company and bar tender(manager.) Good food and great conversation! We asked the bar tender for some recommendations and he did not disappoint. The hummus and falafel were delicious, and the pita.. . holy smokes, it was warm and delicious! Could have just eaten that all night. I drank the green tea martini. The drink was refreshing, light and not too sweet. For a casual Monday night«I don’t know where to go» kind of feel, we were really glad we found this gem. We really enjoyed the time we had there and will most certainly be returning — We are planning to venture there for the Oklahoma vs Clemson game on New Years Eve during happy hour :)

Great Place, owners are really hospitable, had our company Christmas party here and everything was awesome. Food was really good, everyone kept complimenting the food. Hummus, falafel, lentil salad was excellent, pita was really good and served warm. Could have had slightly more attentive service considering we had a big party but it was a Sunday night. Anyway I can’t wait to come back with my wife for dinner and I’d give them 4.5 stars if that was possible.

This place is great! I went here for the first time with a group of people as part of an interview. This place has a great atmosphere and the food is simply delicious! We started with hummus trio(a sample of hummus with different sauces), which was so tasty(including the spicy one)!!! Later I had the chicken Margherrita pizza, which was also really good! However, their servings are so large that I ended up having to take my left over to the hotel. Finally, for desserts I had a baklava… Just wonderfully delicious! No other words! Although, I wasn’t the one who paid(YAY! free food!!), I peeked at the menu and the prices were really affordable. So JUSTGOEATATTHISPLACE! You won’t regret it!

I came here on a Thursday night around 7 or so and the place was completely empty inside and a few people were sitting at tables in the outside seating area on Elmwood smoking hookah(Mezza is also a hookah lounge). However, a lot of Buffalo restaurants are like this during the week, especially after dinner hours, so it wasn’t something I really thought twice about. I sat inside and the atmosphere here is pretty good. In addition to tables they have leather couches, coffee tables, and lounge chairs. They have a really nice and modern full bar as well. I ordered the hummus and beef shawarma wrap. The hummus was really good and it comes with lots of their house made fresh pita bread which is delicious(feel free to ask them for more if you happen to run out). The shawarma wrap I really enjoyed and I felt like it held a good flavor and combination of ingredients. My friend ordered a Greek salad and one of the flatbread pizzas. Both were very good. Service was good and everything was delivered in reasonable time. I enjoyed my dinner at Mezza and I highly recommend trying it if you are looking for Middle Eastern/Mediterranean fare as well as a nice play to hang out with a full bar.

Great atmosphere, the servers are always very friendly and attentive, the food is really good too. My grandmother was from the Middle East and made some of the same dishes here and I have to say this place is the closest tasting to her home cooked meals especially the grape leaves-usually when I order grape leaves from any other place they are soggy or taste sour, the grape leaves here are cooked to perfection. Very impressed by Mezza it’s my second time here and I came in because I couldn’t stop day dreaming about the food it’s really that great.

One the best Greek and Lebanese food I Lebanese flat bread pizza with feta cheese, Roma tomato and some kind of pesto that was enough for two people to eat. I also order a small greek salad after I saw huge salad delivery to a table and knew wouldn’t eat all of it. The prices is reasonable. So far got best greek dressing and best the bake there own pita bread and vome out hot.

I have been to Mezza multiple times since they opened. Initially, I was very underwhelmed by the atmosphere and quality. It seemed like they cared more about the bar and hookah aspects than they did the food and food patrons. However, as of recently they have stepped up their food game. I had an awesome shawarma that was flavorful and juicy. We had labneh to start and it was a great example of delicious labneh. It was creamy and tangy! The pita it was served with was soft and warm. The atmosphere is mellow and understated. They are no longer trying to be a hip dance club type restaurant. It didn’t work well in my opinion. It is a quality establishment for some tasty Mid East food. It might become a go to spot for me.

Mezza is a fun Mediterranean restaurant on Elmwood. I like to go there for lunch. The front of the restaurant has a full bar and a mini lounge with hookah. The second level of the restaurant has a dining room. Mezza also has a small, outdoor patio. I really like everything on the menu. They have great salads, cold Mezza(appetizers), hot Mezza, flatbread pizza, wraps and pita. They have an excellent selection of homemade hummus and dips/sauces. My favorite things to order are the shrimp cocktail, the heated stuffed grape leaves, falafel, the homemade hummus, and the classic fattoush salad with the pomegranate dressing. The flatbread pizzas are also delicious. The service is pretty quick and they are always pleasant. It’s a great place to go when you’re in the mood for something different!

After traipsing around Elmwood for the past few years, I was shocked when I realized that I was the only person in my friend group who hadn’t visited Mezza. So I was pretty excited when we decided to throw a surprise birthday party for a friend there last weekend. The layout of the restaurant is similar to other bars in the area. Patrons walk into a truncated lower section that features a long bar and minimal seating. The primary dining area is up a flight of stairs on a landing over the back section of the building. We sat down to friendly service and attentive servers. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives stop. Most of the menu was comprised of lunch-appropriate items. The entrees seemed overpriced, so I settled on a beef shawarma and a «crisp apple» cocktail. My boyfriend, friend, and I also split a «special»: the hummus trio. My boyfriend’s gyro was a dry pita stuffed with equally dry beef. The sauce was all settled into the V of the pita, so he had to deconstruct the gyro and rebuild it so it was edible. Even after redistributing the sauce, the gyro was still tasteless and disappointing. He must have received all of the beef that was supposed to go on my meal. My wrap was filled with an incredible amount of sauce, two pathetic pickles, and some mushy tomatoes. The three strips of beef that were supposed to cover the entire shawarma were so small that I couldn’t taste them at all. I tried putting some french fries into the wrap to add some bulk, but I only received about a dozen fries in total, so I completely exhausted my side in trying to fix my entrée. Our hummus trio was flavorful, but we were shocked to receive the bill and see that we had been charged $ 18.00 for three little mounds of hummus and a basket of pita. The regular hummus was $ 6.00, so we were basically charged for three hummus appetizers. It was a complete rip-off. My drink was tasty, but it wasn’t mixed particularly well, so I don’t feel like it contained the amount of liquor that I expected for a $ 9 drink. Also, not to be overly nitpicky, but the triangular shape of the plates was a strange experience. My friends and I had to collaborate on arranging our plates so we all had room for our drinks and elbows. It seemed like a decision someone made because the plates«looked cool» and didn’t consider their functionality. Overall, Mezza is an overpriced, poor attempt at establishing an upscale bar. The food preparation was amateurish, the prices were skewed, and presentation decisions were made without functionality in mind. I walked away feeling like I had been in a strange beta version of a restaurant that wanted to open up on Chippewa. I bumped up the rating from 1-star to 2 because the servers were sweet and attentive. My drink and hummus dips were also flavorful, if nothing else.

I had a bad feeling from the beginning as I sat down and realized that it was completely empty on a Saturday evening. Not exactly a good sign. Came through cuz of high recommendations from a couple of friends. Started with some some hot hummus and pita. I must say it was delicious. Both the bread and the hummus. Very nicely done. If only I could’ve not looked as what I was eating. The beef on the humus, I’ll be delicate and say it didn’t look«appetizing» at all. Added an image of that. Decent start nonetheless. Then I ordered the chicken shawarma. Or that’s what I though. I had the option for rice or potatoes, figured they give some on the side. It came on a plate, looking as if a five year old threw it together… from across the room and then kid brother blew some spices on it with some tool. Looked absolutely horrendous. I hoped the taste would save it. I was wrong. The chicken was dry. The potatoes were burnt. The grilled onions weren’t grilled enough to be soft and savoury. I called the server and asked about the chicken, her response«Yea…it’s supposed to be dry.» I think I gave up then. The chicken soup that came with the shawarma, looked appetizing but lacked flavour with barely any chicken in it. Bleh. All in all, a place I’d not recommend or visit again.
