Came here for breakfast when i was in town looking for an apartment. I got the souvlaki breakfast with gyro meat. Whereas they may do a good gob in general, i was disappointed by the gyro meat. The uniformity of each slice on my plate and in pictures posted by others show that they are not hand carving the gyro. These are clearly some kind of pre-sliced food service meat. It was then heated with a lot of oil, so the meat was very greasy. In my book, if you’re a Greek restaurant with bad gyro, it really doesn’t matter hoe good the rest of your food is. Minor point: table was dirty when we sat down. We were one of the first people in the restaurant that morning, so they clearly did a bad job of cleaning the night before.

We come here for good souvlaki with reasonable prices. The service has always been decent, but I do hate those annoying pesky fruit flies everywhere. When that happens, I only think of one thing — they’re not keeping the place clean enough. The lack of parking is definitely annoying, but that’s kind of how it is anywhere on Elmwood. We have not had anything else from here other than their souvlaki, so I can’t really speak for the rest of the menu. It’s a mid-range priced restaurant with mid-range quality of food, good enough for everyday simple eats or a quick weekend brunch, but not anywhere I would bring guests to. Hopefully I can add another star or two in the future as I explore other items on their menu.

I called and ordered food by phone for dinner on Monday around 9pm. First off the prices are incorrect with what is online by more then a dollar. Second off I may just be hangry because I ordered and was charged for chicken and beef souvlaki dinner and only received the beef portion

It’s pretty ridiculous that I have taken this long to write a review for Mythos. This is my favorite place for Greek cuisine and one of my favorite brunch spots. Service is sometimes spotty during the busy brunch hours but I’m willing to take my chances. Everyone is at least friendly; just seems sometimes they could use one more person on. The quality of the food has never disappointed and I have been here many, many times since moving to the city in the fall of 2010. Typically I come here for brunch. My long-standing favorite dish of the breakfast burrito covered in hollandaise sauce served with a side of Greek yogurt and fresh fruit with honey, was recently bumped to 2nd by the Souvlaki Breakfast which I highly recommend. The eggs Benedict have been good here as well. Enjoy a mimosa after 12 noon. Even better — when the weather is nice, enjoy that on the patio.

This is a «must have» when on Elmwood Village. The breakfast is incredible, everybody talked to me about how amazing the home potatoes are and it is all true! You can also get good greek diner. I always get the greek salad, the best one I’ve ever had. I come for it at least once a week.

Horrible service. Bring a waiter myself, I typically tip 20 percent no matter the service, but this had to be the first time in a really long time i only tipped 15 percent. Never refilled drinks, didn’t offer dessert, just dropped the check. No menu suggestions, didn’t even know what the soup of the day was. Good food, horrible service.

President’s day and my buddy and I figured why not get a nice breakfast. Smart to come here. My hash and eggs was perfect, and everything I ordered, dark rye toast, really dark, came out exactly as I wanted. The home fries were flavorful, hot and crisp, perfect amount of onion added. Service was attentive. Hot coffee. My buddy’s Greek omelette was stuffed with creamy feta and fresh tomato. Once the food came there was no conversation; just grunts. We loved it.

We were sat at a window seat waited 20 min and no service!!! Really bummed because the menu looked great! The server was sitting in a booth adding receipts noticed we were leaving and seemed relieved!

Old Greek diner near downtown probably been there since the 60’s it looks like. Sorta old inside, beat up but clean. Kinda funky smell when I walked in but might have been something cooking in the back. Had breakfast here of eggs and gyros with home fries and toast. All very good with super cheerful service. I’d get breakfast here anytime.

I really like the Greek food from here. The flavor is authentic and the prices are cheap. The early bird special is awesome for breakfast and the service is pretty good also. I would recommend this spot for anyone looking for a quick cheap fill.

The only thing I ever ate here that was appetizing, or saw anyone else eat that didn’t seem pedestrian, was their spanakopita. The spinach is plentiful and rolled with phyllo into a spiral pattern. Since the ambiance is fine, but not compelling, I would actually get this to-go. The other food my table mates ordered looked fine, but that’s damning with faint praise.

Wonderful local Greek restaurant in the Elmwood Village! Anytime I NEED a gyro or chicken souvlaki, Mythos is #1! They also have Mythos beer which as someone who has traveled to Greece and back — that’s a big deal!

Fairly typically«Buffalo Style» greek restaurant… a good but not great example of the style. Nice, smallish dining room. Quick friendly service. I had the chicken souvlaki salad. The chicken was excellently prepared, but not plentiful. Portion size in general was a bit skimpy for this type of restaurant. My wife had a panini which was also good, but a little on the small size. Pricing was average. Would go again if I was in the area looking for this sort of thing but wouldn’t seek it out.

This is the most authentic Greek in the area, I’d say. I’m not the best judge, as I do not eat meat, but I have lived in Greece. A lot of the meals are formed like I remember them in Greece and while ingredients might be the normal fare for America, it at least looks decent. The spanikopita, however, is spot on and awesome. Always look for the spirals, as they tend to be the most full of actual filling and not just filo dough. They are also quite common on the streets in Greece as a cheap snack. It’s weird to get it as an entrée here, but it satisfies my nostalgia and this vegetarian’s bent toward a satisfying meal. Also, milkshakes!

My last visit was 5 years ago, and I’m not sure why I waited so long to come back to Mythos for their great food. Came here with a large group of 9 and had made reservations few days before, however when some of us arrived ready to be seated we were informed another large group came in and they gave away our table! We were not happy about this since we had to wait an extra 30 minutes. I was ready to remove a star or 2 for this, but the food and service after this mishap made up for it. The owner came out and was very apologetic for the wait, and the waitress we had during the meal was super friendly and accommodating. We ordered up some apps to share, the bruschetta was different since it had warm mozzarella melted on the top, but worked well and was delicious. Honestly anything with melted cheese makes it amazing. Ordered the chicken souvlaki dinner with the home fries. Wow! I wasn’t expecting it to be awesome, but it was. The chicken was cooked perfectly, melt in your mouth goodness! The tzatziki wasn’t as thick as I would’ve liked, but tasted good nonetheless poured over the salad portion. The home fries were simply great, a little crispy and a lot savory. I guess you can order breakfast anytime here, since someone in our group ordered up some eggs and chocolate chip pancakes for dinner. Hey why not! Definitely will be coming back again a heck of a lot sooner than my last visit.

The only reason I am giving two stars instead of one is because the food is good. However, the service I received today had me so taken a back that I had to discuss it. Let me start by saying that I don’t want to tarnish a local business’ reputation, and I live two minutes from this place and work right around the corner, I love my neighborhood and the businesses in it, but I plan to never come back. I work at Children’s and one of our doctor’s ordered take out. Since I had to run to the bank right across the street, I volunteered to pick it up. The doctor gave me her card and sent me on my way. I walk in, and the food was ready and waiting for me. I give the hostess(who I think is the owner) the card, and she swipes it and I sign, putting a dash where it asks for a tip. No big deal, right? Let me also state that when I do take out, I don’t tip. I didn’t think this was unusual? I always tip at a sit down or for delivery but in this case, I came, and I was going to walk it around the block back to the hospital. As I turn to walk out the woman, I kid you not says loud enough for me to hear, «Zero dollars, no tip? Real nice». Are you kidding?! I was about to turn around and say something but chose to take the high road. Let me also emphasize that this wasn’t my money to spend on a tip even if I did want to tip her! It was the doctor’s credit card and wasn’t my place to give a tip for TAKEOUT. In short, I will no longer be giving Mythos my patronage and recommend that others don’t either.

I have my own thot. She’s perfect. There should be a restaurant named after her, called«MYTHOT.» Unfortunately this is not that restaurant. There are lots of great OS’s out there(operating services) in the tech industry. I’m not going to go into them because there are just that many. But the infamous and much-lauded«LPOS»(Large Penis Operating System), and trust me when I say this… *does not exist*. There is no such thing. It was a made up joke, an April Fool’s, I have no idea, but its existence is a myth. Trust me on that. In fact I am lobbying to have its official name on Wiki(LPOS), changed to «MYTHOS» because the OS is a myth. This restaurant agrees with my campaign and has changed its name to Mythos accordingly. Thank you so much! This is one of the best Greek restaurants in town. It’s close to Acropolis but, in order, I like(1) Mythos,(2) licking the dirty pavement, and(3) Acropolis. Exaggeration, but the former is that good and the latter is that bad. Both of them(as well as Panos, completing the Elmwood Village Trifecta) are horrendously overpriced. But one of them actually has wonderful Greek food and the other two do not. The only one of the three with good food is Mythos. I ordered the Open Chicken Souvlaki, which usually comes to somewhere between 7 and 10 depending on where you order. Here it’s more like 11, and Acropolis is more like 12, while Towne and Pano’s are more like 13, but Towne is a big portion, and worth it, while Panos is awful, and Acropolis is both awful and tiny. Mythos on the other hand tastes excellent. They give you a decent portion of fresh salad and a decent portion of delicious, tender, juicy souvlaki. It’s not the best souvlaki in town, but it’s very yummy and easily good enough to score 5. It’s typical Buffalonian Souvlaki, one of the best cities ever for Greek Diner food, and this is a good example of that. The salad is a good Greek Salad, I wish it were even larger. The pieces of chicken were small but there were plenty of them and I loved every bite. The service also was excellent. They served me close to closing time, and the girl on the phone, who also rung up my order, was adorable and very friendly, so much so that I gave her a tip for pick up which I usually don’t do. Now I’d recommend probably 10 other places for Souvlaki before this, starting with Nick’s on Amherst, Taki’s, Family Tree, Wehrle, Alton’s, Towne… but if you’re on the Elmwood Strip and you want some Souvlaki, and you’re considering Pano’s(ew) or Acropolis(ew ew) you must skip them, and forget they exist, and come here instead and give it a try. And remember to avoid the Large Penis Operating System, that OS is a myth. Take my word for it. It’s a Myth OS.

I’ve been going to Mythos for years now, I’ve grown used to the menu and generally stick to my favorite breakfast item. While recently dining in I’ve noticed that it appears they are attempting to step up their game per say? The menus have been reprinted and since the«brunch specials» never change an insert has been created. The use of square plates is also in effect which ridiculously makes the tables smaller if you are dining with a party of 4. Nothing has changed in regards to my favorite plate, the Hash and Holley. Thid breakfast item startes as a bed of corn beef hash(canned) for which two poached eggs are laid upon(the level of perfection varies i.e. over/under poached) which a velvety hollandaise sauce is slathered on. This served with home fries and choice is toast to me is no better way to start a weekend morning. As the years go by and i assume cooks move on the quality of this dish will vary, greasy hash, over poached eggs, etc. I generally find the hash browns flavorless but being that they are real potatoes and not shredded a little ketchup or hot sauce will dress them up. Lately the biggest problem i have experienced is the attitude and demeanor of the hostess. I’m not sure if it is because she looks like Chelsea Handler or just hates her job or life but she has a serious attitude problem that always comes across when she’s
