A friend and I went to dinner on a Tuesday night. We got there about 6p and most of the dining seats were filled, a few bar seats were open. We sat ourselves. It was about 5 min before we were greeted and given a menu. We each ordered fish and chips. The chips were steak fries and were nothing special. The fish was cod, nice and crispy, and hot! Two friend fish pieces came with each order — $ 16. I think the price was a little steep for only two pieces of fish. Once our food was delivered to our table the server didn’t return for over an hour. Really. There were only two guys working and the place was totally filled by 6:30p. They were hustling and consequently didn’t even refill water glasses. I enjoyed our food, but unless service is better I won’t return.

Great pub atmosphere with an oustanding variety of draught beer from imports to IPA’s. Family owned and operated with attention to satisfying the customer. Great selection of Pub food or outstanding Italian Cuisine from Baci Restaurant upstairs.

I’m glad to see this place is in my new neighborhood. It’s above and beyond the Candlewyck. Has a cozy British pub feel, with a Baci’s menu if you’re hungry. The taps come in around $ 7 on average but that’s fair saying as that they’re imperial pint pours(20oz). Pretty good selection of drafts, back bar was nothing special but that’s not a shocker – the place is in the middle of nowhere. The menu was great. I had the burratta and grandma’s chicken-both of which were very good. The best thing about the place was the bartenders. Tony and another guy were excellent. Very personable and attentive. I’ll be back.

This English Pub beneath the Baci Restaurant is not to be missed. It has casual fare or you can order from the Baci menu. Servers fly around and take care of the 15 or so tables and bar area. Music on Saturday nights. Great Draft selection. Would recommend if your in the Lahaska/Buckingham area. Food is well above standard pub expectations.

This eating establishment say its a pub but look at you as if you are a cash cow! Happy to pay $ 7 a pint for beer, eat their $ 10 starter and $ 29 main course meals in a dinning room atmosphere. The only thing good here is the service! But let me be honest… its a rip off of the first order I had a chicken and leek pie $ 14 with my $ 7 beer which was not a pie cooked in a pie crust as said in their menu, oh no it was chicken breast and leek soup in a bowl baked with a filo dough top where the pastry might have once been. All the time I wishing I had gone across the way to the Candlewyck pub for a $ 14 steak and beer costing far less! It’s been fifteen year since I was last here and I hope its better when I come back in 2030 on my eighty seventh birthday! If I make it till then I most likely change my mind and go across the road to the Candlewyck pub for a cheaper pint.

Meh. 7 dollar Guinness without a nice pour. Calamari that were odd skinny rings. Overcooked burger. Soupy shepard’s pie with virtually no meat nor veggies. And a really really small serving for the money. This is earning stars for service, not the food.

This bar is the perfect mesh of cozy and fun for me. Awesome bartenders, service and food to match. I Have been here a few dozen times and have nothing negative to say, which is rare for me. Tony and Baci are the real deal!

Best local pub around! Staff is so welcoming, which is MOST important, comfortable atmosphere, AWESOME food and great beer selection. Same establishment as Baci Italiano so you can order from both menus: steak house or authentic Italian! YUM!(Ask for Tony and/or Janelle! They are THEBEST!)

This place gets 4 stars for the pub like atmosphere and service. I would give it a 3 for the food because it lacked flavor but everything tasted fresh. The burgers are good quality but good have use salt. They were juicy with a nice charred crust and it was served medium just like I ordered. The fries were a little greasy and lacked salt but were freshly cut and made. Skip the chicken and leek pie unless you love leeks. If you love leeks this is your shangrila. Boddington’s was perfect and I could have had three. The Italian food upstairs which you can order at the Pub is fantastic. If the pub used salt and some pepper I would have given them a four star review.

Wife and I met friends tonight, were really not impressed. Service was sluggish to MIA, but friendly, and the TV was loud the Bellmont Stakes was on, then the music was pretty loud all night. Food took forever to come out, and the gap between apps and entrees was ridiculous. Basically dinner took 3 hours, we were talking throughout, but we really only had appetizers and dinner, our friends got desert to go. As for the food the Potato Leek purée soup was fair, a little grainy, not sand from the leaks, but more like the potato was under-cooked before pureed, and could have been a little more flavorful, served lukewarm as well. I had the sole francaise — not pleasant, the fish did not seem fresh, soggy, and the sauce not smooth or rich. If we were not with friends I probably would have returned it, and this was $ 22 — worth maybe $ 12. Wife had the Chicken Leek pie, seemed like shredded boiled chicken, in salty broth and a piece of puff-pastry on top… really uninspired. No vegetables, and the bread was pretty poor… a real disappointment, and really not inexpensive,. The most memorable item was the bizarre graffiti in the men’s room. We did not discuss the meal with our friends, not a word was said about the meal. There are many better places to dine out in the area.

Nice ambiance and good beer selection, but just too expensive. Pints are $ 7 each. You can get a pitcher of Yuengling for $ 6.75 at pizza places in New Hope.

Heart of Oak is the casual pub in the basement of Baci Restaurant. The menu has the full italian menu from upstairs, plus English Pub food like shepherds pie, fish and chips, bangers and mash among others. Beer selection is good: macros from England and Ireland, including both Fullers ESB and Fullers London Pride. Atmosphere is relaxed, and there sometimes are a group of folks shooting darts. Weekends there is live music. The crowd there tends to be an older crowd, and its not too noisy. Good place to bring a group of friends just to visit and relax. Last time there I had a very good caesar salad that was not over dressed, and included anchovies. Excellent. Sausage rolls were three little sausages in puff pastry with a pile of chips. Could have used some gravy. All in all good place for a pint and a bite, especially if you are partial to Fullers and don’t want to fly to London to have one.

The Heart of the Oak pub is a great little pub directly below Baci. The menu is typical English Pub food but you can also order off of Baci’s menu upstairs. The Fish and Chips; Bangers and Mash and, believe it or not, the calamari are very good. Fantastic selection of Fullers on tap along with Boddingtons. The atmosphere in this place is great. The bartenders are personable and even control the music through a laptop and/or personal ipod so it’s great to occasionally hear non-mainstream pop in the background.

My husband and I were regulars at Heart of Oak for years — at least 10 years. We always were in the pub, and never had dinner in the upstairs dining room. The pub is quaint, with beams and is in a historic building. Their pub food(English) foods are all wonderful, as their dinners from the fine dining menu are fantastic. Sauces are wonderful as is the selection of brews. We’re going this Saturday nite! and can’t wait to get back to a place I love. Tony is the best!

Heart of Oak is an cozy, authentic English pub in Bucks County, perfect for a date(alas, I was just here for dinner with friends). It wasn’t crowded the weekend we went. Sharing the same building with an Italian restaurant(Baci, which serves northern Italian, is right upstairs) they share the same kitchen. Wasn’t in the mood for pub food, so I went for Italian per my friend’s recommendation. My linguine(with veal!) was tasty, and I’d get it again. Service took our orders in stride, bringing everything out quickly, and with a smile. Last I checked, they were open 7 days a week so if you’re in the neighborhood, do try them for yourself!

I think i can write a pretty detailed review about Heart of Oak. We were regulars there for over 3 years.
Heart of Oak is a quaint, intimate english style pub in Buckingham, PA. It’s fairly close to Peddler’s Village(2 miles) and New Hope(about 10 miles). Seating is minimal inside(one bar and about 10 tables) so don’t be surprised if you go on a friday or saturday around dinner time and don’t get a seat. If you go there after 10pm though you’re fine. The beer selection is superb for this area. If you’re looking for bud you’re at the wrong place. Beers on tap include: John Courage(a first for me, i love this amber lager), Guinness(especially good here), Boddington’s, London Pride ESB, Carlsberg, Newcastle, etc. They do have Yuengling on tap which downgrades them from 5 stars to 4, but you have to please everyone i guess. I’m not a wine fanatic, but i was given a tour of their wine cellar and they have an extensive collection. The prices are high…$ 6 for a full pint of beer… no head here. The food is delicious. They have a pub menu, but you can also order anything from the excellent italian restaurant upstars(Baci) which is owned by the same family. The pub menu includes Bangers and Mash, Chicken and Leek Pie, Shepard’s Pie, Hamburgers, Buffalo Wings and various other quick eats. The Chicken and Leek pie is DELICIOUS, as is the Shepard’s Pie. Either one will run you about $ 10 but is more than enough to fill you. The thing that drew us to Heart of Oak was the excellent beer selection and the people. It is owned and operated by a great family. The head bartender downstairs is Tony and he is hillarious. Many a drunken night was spent with Tony as he was«practicing» making his famous shots. Also great are the other bartenders and the regulars who are always up for some darts at 1am. There also is music on friday and saturday nights. An excellent musician«Graham» plays there twice a month. if you’re into alternative/folk music he’s your man. He plays everything from The Beatles and Bob Dylan, to Radiohead and Pearl Jam(we asked him to play a PJ song one night and he played a whole set!) Anyway, if you’re looking for a relaxing evening head to Heart of Oak and tell Tony i said Hi! One final thing, they are no-smoking now. If you’re a non-smoker it’s MUCH more enjoyable in there now. If you are a smoker, bring a jacket. There are table outside for you though.
