I ordered a steak bomb, which looks delicious but then the girl who handed me the sub with the same gloves that she scratched her head with, touched her hair, handled customers money/change, touched the cash register(not clean in ages), put some pepper on my sub and cut it in half. Not sure if I should eat, toss, or hand it back and ask that she change her gloves. Just because you have gloves on that doesn’t mean that your handling food like how you should.

Many years ago I used to eat from here a lot because we did delivery at work. Then one day I went inside and was disgusted to see that they wear gloves to make sandwiches then don’t take them off to handle money then turn around and make another sandwich. I turned around and walked out. Do they not understand the purpose of gloves? It’s to keep filthy hands away from food, this includes filthy money. Today I decided to go in because it was convenient and it’s been a while but I saw the same thing. Two girls at the counter making sandwiches, handling filthy money and not changing gloves to make another sandwich. Disgusting! Isn’t this common sense? Needless to say… I won’t be giving them a third chance.

Been going here for over 20 years. Long story short, the food is good but the place is outdated. It used to be cash only but they now accept cards. It’s a sub shop not a fine dining restaurant. They are known for their cheese steaks and Italian subs, but everything I’ve gotten here is pretty good.

First, owners need to put some money into the shop for cleaning and updating. I was reluctant to even go in after seeing the outside falling apart. When I got in, no surprise… dirty, dingy, 1950’s-esque. I had to repeat my simple one sandwich order 3 times until they got it. Lady wears the same slimy gloves to wrap the sandwich, use cash register and return change. Yucky. Sandwich fair but not worth $ 8.00.

Very good New York style pizza with generous amount of nicely spicy sauce. The toasted Italian sub was well above average and in the same league as Primos in beacon hill which is my favorite. The cheese pizza slice is right up there w NY pizza in Boston. The pizza has more sauce than most which I like. I can’t give a 5 star because the dining area is very dingy worn and dated. Chef Ramsey wild not approve. The staff was very quick and efficient. I will eat here again. It is close to braintree RMV so get your number then go get lunch.

Someone posted recently that this place is cash only– not true! I normally don’t have cash so I would be up #*its creek! I have only had a sandwiches here– tried about 5 different ones. My favorite– hands down is their cheesesteak. Soooo delish. I need to try the pizza sometime. Super old school sandwich shop– quality food!

Cash only, always a red flag for me. In this case I should have trusted my instincts. Tried this place for lunch. Appears to be family run, which is typical. Not the friendliest service, again not a surprise for this area. Here’s my issue: Ordered a greek wrap — listed as $ 5.50 on the menu. Grabbed a bottled drink from the cooler, total came to 8.75? Either funny math going on or they charge $ 3 for a coke. Also, no chicken in the wrap — just lettuce, feta, tomato, and some boring bottled«greek» dressing. Awful. Overpriced. Will not return. Wrap was falling apart, couldn’t be bothered to correctly wrap $.35 worth of vegetables while they gouge you at $ 8. Unrelated commentary — Far too many bad sub and pizza shops around this area! Would it kill someone to open a place that served something different ??

Italian subs made the right way! Seriously the best. Hubby had the tuna which was also great. Ingredients taste fresh. Size of sub is generous. Prices are reasonable. Can’t wait to try the pizza!

It was my favorite sub shop years ago, and it had been a long time since I’d been there. Prices are still on the low side of many sub shops, but the food is very average.

I grew up right on plain street, and since childhood this is where we got our subs from. The pizza is alright. Any Braintree native knows they make the BEST Italian Subs, Steak and cheese, and meatball. The family run business is personable and polite, I have never had a time where my food was gross or the place was dirty. Definitely wish I still lived in the area to scarf down one of their amazingly delicious Italian subs.

Went here for lunch one day. Ordered a meatball sub and a Cheesesteak mushroom sub. Both were good. Meatballs were homemade, bread was very fresh. Steak was real meat and not the stuff you would usually find at a sub shop. My only problem was somehow two subs and two drinks cost $ 20. The board said that both subs were under $ 7.00, must have been some expensive drinks!

Mediocre food. Close at 8pm even on weekends. I called to order a greek salad last week and was told they were out of salad. Lame.

They make the best Italian sub. I’ve been going here for years and I’ve never been disappointed. Anytime someone from out of town is looking for a recommendation, I send them here.

I love delivery from here, even though they’re so close by. Pizza dough and sauce are delicius but the pizza can come out soggy. My husband doe not like that they use canned mushrooms. Large menu, great cheese steaks and mozzarella sticks. Definitely on of my favorit pizza doughs around, wish they were open on Sunday.

Just visited here with some co-workers and this place is great!!! The service was great and the subs are amazing! Finally!!! We tried the pizza… amazing! Italian sub… on point and the chicken parm, good! I will be back! Fresh sub rolls and fresh pizza dough is so hard to find.

Excellent subs and very cool staff. Family owned and operated for years. The best grilled chicken and steak subs in town. Some nice tables to eat in or they will have you on your way in a jiffy. Really nice folks, fair prices, great food and they now offer free delivery in town. Nice to have a real sub shop in town with the Subway chain crap popping up on every corner these days.

I had a grilled chicken sub here. I don’t eat much other meat, mostly chicken and I’ve probably eaten 1000 grilled chicken subs in my life. This was literally the worst one I’ve ever had. the chicken was overcooked, dried out, and I couldn’t get through my first bite. I had my girlfriend bring it to me at work, and if I wasn’t stuck at work I would’ve gone back and thrown it at them. Let me be clear, I like alot of the local shops here, Double GG, braintree house, I mean, I’d rather have had a generic Subway franchise fake meat sub than this sub. etc… Richardi’s should be ashamed of themselves. Do yourself a favor, DON’T EATHERE!

One of my first food experiences after moving to Boston — I ended up here after getting lost finding the«RMV»(the DMV of Massachusetts). Actually, I got lost 3 times, even though I had an iPhone/GPS — wtf? So I basically stress-ate here at Richardi’s. But that said, what a great place to do so; the pastrami with pickles and mustard was excellent. Just what I needed to keep going. I also loved how I genuinely could not understand the very nice lady who worked there. She said«mozzah?» and I really didn’t know what that meant — after asking her to repeat 2x, I finally just said«yes!» thinking it was mozzarella(kind of bizarre on a pastrami, but hey, roll with the local punches, right?). Turned out it was MUSTARD! That said, she was super nice(smiling, motherly), and took pity on this poor Californian transplant. Wish they were over here in Boston proper!

I only get one thing at Richardi’s: their tuna sub. Seriously, go there, get it, and then thank me later. Richardi’s has been at this location for as long as I can recall and they are awesome. Prices are low, food is made fast, quality is good, and the waitstaff is great. Portions are huge(salads and subs are massive) and tasty. I love this place. I wish I still lived as closeby as I did when I was a kid!
