Somewhat off the beaten path, I remember the first time I looked for Freedom Cup I must have passed it up at least a couple of times. It’s recessed back from Old San Antonio Road but I still like coming here. The FC serves up the usual coffee-related fare such as espresso, latte, and cappuccino. And their baked goods vary from cupcakes, cookies, pies, and more. Additionally, breakfast & lunch options are available. They definitely pride themselves on a their gluten free choices as I’ve seen quite a few identified as such. And if you simply don’t have time to come in and relax, they do have a drive-thru.

The only reason I’m giving this place 2 stars is because it’s food was good and it was kind of cute. I went with a good friend and we noticed quickly that we were not welcome there. It seems that the majority of people there including the staff were all part of the same church circle. We were made to feel very uncomfortable and only spent enough time to finish our food and we left immediately. I will never go back there.

While Freedom Cup doesn’t have perfect or quick service, I am a big fan of their allergy conscious baked goods. I don’t often eat sugary treats, but when I really crave a treat, I know I can go to Freedom Cup for something that won’t make me sick and is homemade and delicious. A few of my favorites are the oatmeal crème cookie, the pumpkin muffin, and the orange brownie. The coffee is good enough and the atmosphere is cozy. There is a place for children to play and I wish this had been open when my children were younger. The smoothies are all delicious, as well. I think that the most intriguing and rewarding information is when I realized that while they spend countless hours working, Freedom Cup is a non profit. The money they make goes to aid a cause that is very close to their heart. I will warn you though, if you are looking for an all adult location with a productive and businesslike/professional atmosphere(read Starbucks), this is not for you. This is a local spot that has more in mind than just making coffee.

Their peach tea is disgusting, gross. Ok yes this my opinion but for those who do like their peach tea then this is for you

The concept is nice but I ordered a sausage breakfast sandwich and it was awful. It looked disgusting, I should have taken a picture before I threw it away. The english muffin was soggy, the cheese was waxy and a stuck to the paper wrap. I could have microwaved a frozen breakfast sandwich at home and saved $ 2.50. Toasting an english muffin and making an egg aren’t difficult to do and this place was not busy so I can’t see why they use microwaved frozen food. I also got an iced latte which wasn’t much better, I could barely taste the coffee and when I did it was very bitter and sour. It’s the only place on the little side road and it isn’t busy at all, perhaps if they offered a better product they would be busy.

Freedom Cup has an amazing atmosphere to go along with delicious food and coffee. For a small local place thr menu is impressively large with different dietary options. The interior has a rustic log cabin feel with lots of nooks and comfy chairs. In back there is fenced in outdoor seating with a playground for the kids. Best of all it is quite secluded so it is a very peaceful place to enjoy a quiet morning or afternoon. Definitely give it a try!

Super cute little café close to highway but feels like you’re in the middle of nowhere. Service was a little disjointed but the yummy baked goods, smoothies and ambience made it all worth while. Delicious items we tried and loved; the pumpkin muffin, spinach and ham quiche, and the mango tango smoothie.

So I really wanted to love this place because of it’s mission — but the food is pricy and the breakfast items are mostly microwaved meals that you can find in the frozen section of your local grocery store.

We were passing thru and stopped at the cute«coffee shop». Loved the variety of breakfast choices. My 2 boys loved their blueberry muffins. They had the best chai tea latte I’ve ever had! Loved that they had outside seating with a play area for the kids. The 2 people working(I assume the owners) were very friendly and polite and always checking to make sure we didn’t need anything. I wish this place was closer to where I live… I would certainly be a regular.

I am literally blown away by this coffee shop. It looks like a little home from the road, but it’s light is like a city on a hill. Freedom cup uses sustainable trade coffee beans from Just Love Coffee roasters that are Fair Trade Certified. The profits from Just Love go towards helping couples adopt and orphan care. The owner Stephanie and her Dad are friendly and very welcoming. Their profits are given back to communities around the world. Oh, and lest I forget to review the coffee… It’s good! I’m sipping on some Ethiopian as I right this review. Come in and enjoy this wonderful establishment. I can’t say enough good things about it!

Super friendly(if that’s your thing) and relaxed. There are semi-private areas in case you have to do some work, outdoor seating, and colorful playground stuff for little kids to do, too. Very nicely done interior. I’ll definitely be back. Would benefit from extending hours an hour or two. But it’s Boerne, what can you do, right?

High expectations for this quaint and aptly named coffee shop. The ambiance is everything you expect for a local mom-pop coffee shop. Lots of comfy couches, perfect place for a meet up. Their mission focus of freedom for those in third world countries is evident. That’s nice. Staff was polite and friendly. However, my order of a latte and bagel took well over 10 minutes. The coffee tasted burnt and the bagel wasn’t toasted, in fact was mushy. I had been going to a local gourmet coffee shop for several years so I’m a little spoiled. I’ll try this place again and would recommend it, just don’t expect a perfect cup of gourmet coffee. Expect a quaint coffee shop.
