We stopped in for dinner while trying our luck up on the«hill». We got a great deal on a prime rib dinner which came with vegetables, choice of potato, dinner roll, and a piece of prime rib(6 oz?) Although the size could have been larger for myself,(I finished my wife’s) the taste was incredible, I would venture to say one of the best tasting pieces of prime rib I’ve had. Awesome deal for 7.77. On Fridays you can get it for 3.99

Who would have thought $ 7.77 prime rib would be bad? Heh … well — we thought it’d be worth a shot. It wasn’t. You couldn’t have paid me to eat the disgusting piece of meat they put on my plate. We ordered medium rare and what we got was a GREY(yes the color GREY) piece of meat with absolutely no juice of any sort. The fat was not rendered; just globby and the texture of an eyeball. There was no bark on it whatsoever. The taste was slightly mothbally with a hint of meat. It almost seemed like the meat was boiled and then re-colored or soaked in some flavor additive or injection. I’m really not sure how they prepared it — but DONOTTRYTHISATHOME(or at the Mustang Grill).

My experience was very nice. My server Alex was exceptional, I will definitely go there again next time I am visiting Blackhawks.

I’ve never been to this restaurant for only one reason. I heard it was terrible. Apparently, there was a change in management, so I gave it a shot. What I had heard about this place was obviously wrong. The service was excellent(quick to the table with myself and the food.) The prime rib was spot on mid-rare, as it has to be. And, the manager, Bridget, was much more than accommodating with any needs I had. The prime rib nearly melted in my mouth. Beautiful place and a beautiful staff. I’m not sure where they may have fell short before, but I saw and experienced nothing but wonderful people, atmosphere, and food.
