Wild Orchid Salon + Spa

After having a horrible experience previously at a different salon, I was a little nervous going into the appointment. I wanted a Balayage with long layers and Kellie did an amazing job! I love my hair now and will definitely be back.

I went there in July for a baleyage because I saw a Groupon for it and it was probably the best decision ever! Can’t remember the girls name who did my hair and cutting and everything but she did a good Job! I told her I wanted a baleyage and kind of brown and she went with it and choose a color that would be good for me. She explained everything well and why she was doing it! LOVED my hair! And I would love to go back and do it here again!

Great hairstylist, wonderful color consultation. I bought a Unilocal deal and they were hoping to reschedule me. I have yet to return, due to my busy schedule but I will take some me time before year end. Very comfy, clean, friendly salon!

Worst customer service ever! The front desk reception is so rude. He has no customer service skills. When I called to make an appointment, he kept me on hold. He forgot that I was on hold for 10 minutes. While I was on hold, I can hear that he was gossiping with another employee. When I showed up to my rescheduled appointment, I was told I’m not in the system. That was it. He didn’t provide a solution or another appointment.

Love Jess! I have fairly short, fine hair. I need a cut with shape to it or my fine hair just lays flat. She does a fantastic job and my hair looks great not just immediately but also as it grows out, which to me is the sign of a great cut. The salon is very nice, casual vibe with a good front staff. Highly recommend you see Jess!

Jess is the bomb! Not sure I could have anyone else cut my hair. The staff is always friendly and the salon experience is low key and comfortable.

I just moved to the area and my apartments were offering discounts to this salon. I went to my handy dandy Unilocal app on my phone to look up reviews and was shocked to see 5 stars basically on every review. Well NOW I know why. This place is AWESOME. Let me start by saying that I have been dying my hair since I could walk and have seen a million stylists from Dallas to Houston and beyond. First off, making an appointment was super fast and easy. When I got to my appointment, I was warmly greeted by Lewis, who is the most attentive, thoughtful receptionist I have ever met. He immediately offered me a beverage and was on top of everything. From the time I entered to the time I left, he was going around checking on everyone and rearranging items. I was then greeted by my stylist, Lacy. What I loved about her was that she really, truly LISTENED to what I wanted and gave me exactly that. I’m in love with my color and cut! She even put the color block (so the color doesn’t get on your skin) all around my face and ears. You have no idea how many times I have walked out of a salon with color all over my neck and face. It was just the little things that made a huge difference on my salon experience. They are wonderful!!! You won’t be disappointed!

Missed the chance to visit the salon as they were fully booked. However, I received a kind and gracious call from their co-​owner Jared about scheduling a future appointment. It’s business’s like this who are owned by families that provide a superior at a fair price that should be supported. Thus my review is based on my initial experience and how they treat new clients and I look forward to getting my haircut by the team at Wild Orchid Salon.

Awesome experience at this salon. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Morgan did my hair and was absolutely wonderful. She took the time to talk to me about my hair and showed me how to work with my style. I definitely had the tired Mom look on when I went in, and when I came out I looked and felt like a new person!

Jess is awesome! She is the first stylist in a long time that really understood when I said I want to maintain as much length as possible. I’m trying to grow my hair out, but stylists (despite me telling them this) always seem to take off all of the growth since my last trim. Jess did a fantastic job giving me a «trim,» not taking away a bunch of length.
As a bonus, she is very friendly and personable!

These three stars are less for Wild Orchid as a salon and more for my stylist, Amanda. She is the best hair stylist I’ve ever been to (and deserves five stars)!! She’s very detailed and thorough, super friendly and professional, and has the best interest of her clients at heart. She’s awesome at balayage and did a great job with my Brazilian blow-​out. The salon itself is small and crowded. It lacks overall in décor and ambiance but that doesn’t really affect the service. The receptionist is a really friendly guy who I always enjoy encountering.
I have been there a few times when the owner is there and she has never made it a point to talk to any of the customers — other than the ones she is working with. I find this a bit strange, since it’s a really local spot. Especially as a new client, I felt it would have been appropriate for the owner to say hello and welcome new clients. I also feel like the staff tip-​toe around her, which gives off bad vibes to the customers. I can say, that if it were not for Amanda, I would not be as big of a fan of this salon and would not return.

Jess is amazing! Went last week to get a cut and full Balayage and am so in love with what she did. I have naturally light brown hair but like my hair blonder. She did even better than the picture I showed her; she has a real talent and is so great at what she does with a perfectly friendly personality to match. Definitely going back.

I use Unilocal all the time to find places but never write reviews. I guess today I got inspired! I just had to write today because Kellie Reich did an awesome job on my highlights and cut and I felt like she listened to what it was that I was wanting and made it happen. Kellie I will be back !

Morgan is AMAZING! She took my awful looking hair (dry, brittle, in dire need of color) and turned it into a masterpiece! In all of my 36 years I’ve never loved my color more– it’s the perfect blonde blend! I just moved from Chicago and was nervous to try someone new, however she NAILED it. I’ll be using her from here on out. FYI: She did a ballayage (sp?) treatment, conditioning treatment, cut and blow out. I purchased a Groupon prior to going in– GREAT deal.

Every color and cut gets better. Soon I will look like I’m 25 again. Love the service and hospitality here. Kelsie is great if you can get an appointment with her.

Didn’t like my haircut but my husband says I’m a butthead for doing a review before the salon has a chance to fix it. So I will reserve judgment until tomorrows appointment and give 3 stars till then.

Just had my second visit with Kelsie– this time at the Bee Cave location. I loved this area and the salon is so pretty with all the chandeliers and light. Kelsie did the balayage for my highlights and again, they looked AMAZING. They lasted so much longer than my normal highlights, I’m so happy she recommended this to me. Also got a trim and style, I walked out of there feeling like a million bucks without spending that much.
I’m so glad I finally found a salon in Austin that I love, everyone should try this place because you will love it too.
