Staff is friendly and they really listen to their clients and provide suggestions and guidance that’s really helpful when making decisions. I’ve been going to Toni & Guy for years now and there’s little turn-over in staff — a POSITIVESIGN. They have a community.

I am not a former disgruntled employee nor a friend of one. I went to Toni and Guy at this location because iI had previously gone to their San Antonio location and was happy. The young trendy cutting edge atmosphere gave me the impression that this was the place to be. I felt like the stylists would be on top of their game. The first time I came I was very happy… but it went downhill from there. Over a period of three more times, my hair slowly began showing the errors and damage that had begun on the first visit, but would not show up for several more. The highlights that I had gone in with originally ahd been tapered down from what were once full headlights all over the top, to three strands of highlights. I am sure that it was easier for them just to do less and charge the same. I wanted my hair to be two colors. It is not probably 10 colors. If it was done properly, it all would have blended, but there are blotches of lighter and darker everywhere. Add to this the insult of paying top dollar and the result is a very negative one star review. My advice is to find yourself a less trendy place with less t\urnover, and someone that has built their reputation and clientele by their work and not by their location or affiliation.

My experience is great when José the receptionist works there on the weekends. He gives me fantastic shampoo experience. He is well polished in his attire, attentive to his teammates and their clients. He has referred me to a few of the stylists there. I can’t wait for him to start cutting my hair. He has a lot of enthusiasm for learning from his fellow stylists. The salon is lucky to have him. I gave this salon one star because I have not seem him and the stylists that have cut my hair like to talk about themselves excessively, lack of focus on cutting hair and finally lack of enthusiasm on cutting hair in general.

A lil’ late but… a few months ago I got my hair cut and colored at Toni & Guy. Now, I’m not that woman that keeps up with my appearance, least not as often as I should. Something about working and going to school that leaves me w/too lil’ time and energy to do that. Not to mention the hubby and kids always… needing. something from me. LOL. In any case, it always feels great to finally get dolled up and find a stylist, or two, that can flip the script for you and show you how good you can look. A lot of times you go to a stylist and while, sure, they should be giving you their opinion about how you should look, I LOVE when they actually listen to yours, too. That’s exactly what Courtney did. I explained to her what I wanted, she gave me her feedback based on that and then she gave me look and color I WANTED. Afterwards I got a haircut from Ramsis. Can you say, «Wow» over and over for me?!? He’s a lil’ on the pricey side, but so well worth it. I watched him style a few other customers while I was getting my hair colored and he truly is an artist with shears and a comb. Only ladies(and men), we get to be the canvas! Needless to say, I spent the rest of the month with people oohing and aahing. Thanks Courtney and Ramsis!

So here’s the thing. anyone who takes their hair seriously knows that finding someone that’s on your level can be a CHORE. Most stylists spend their time listening to people talk a lot about nothin and as a result have shallow personal relation skills. I’ve been seeing Tiereny for about two years and not only does she have personality that doesn’t scream PRETENTIOUS she’s got the kind of talent that comes after years of experience. The thing that really grinds my gears is that while traveling I usually rely on T&G. and something about this location feels like they operate on different — lower –standards. Get it together Guy.

I won a silent auction for a toni and guy haircut. I was a little hesitant because I would be getting a my first haircut with a stylist that I didn’t know. Not to mention, that I was cutting off over 10 inches for lock of love. When I met my stylist, Ramses I was immediately put at ease. He had a calming yet cool way about him. I was nervous about cutting my hair and he responded, «Come on, let’s do this» motioning me to give him a double high five! I knew this was the stylist for me. I got the most amazing haircut. It grew out perfectly. I will be back. Ramses is my new stylist.

First, what I like about Toni & Guy is that they retrain all stylist and I think they spend a lot of time, especially after the dry, on tweaking and making the cut right. Here’s what I don’t like. Stylist never seem to stay around long. Of the five or six stylists I’ve had… I really, really liked two. The others didn’t listen to me or felt inclined to talk more about their personal lives than to focus on my haircut. So, after four years of going to this salon, I realize having to jump around stylists is just not worth it. The managers are really nice, but I think it’s just a design flaw with T&G.
