I eat here about 4 times a year and I don’t love or hate the place. Parking is sketchy at peak hours, line moves slow and the food is just OK. I never head to Izzo’s unless someone I’m meeting for lunch wants to meet here. But the food is OK and you can build your item the way you like. Prices are at market value for the oversized portion and they offer beer if you like a cold one with your fast ameri-exican food.

I gave this spot a second try because the first time I went it was late and close to closing time. This time, however, it was closer to 7pm and the line was moving at a snail’s pace. It would have been understandable had they been short staffed but there were more than enough staff members to assist. More importantly though, this time and the time before I felt the location was completely lacking in the cleanliness and sanitation realm. The bar/assembly area was riddled with food particles, as was the floor. Imagine my horror, when the person making my burrito tossed caution to the wind as well as the scooping tools and started grabbing with his gloved hands all the makings of my veggie burrito. Oh the HORROR. There was guacamole in the salsa, cheese falling into the Pico de Gallo, just cross contamination galore. Eww. I really won’t be back and I really hope they learn to clean the place up and act as though they’ve received some type of sanitation training

The food is okay, but what really bothered me is the service. I visited on 7÷7÷2015 at 2:30. First of all, I waited at the counter for about 5 minutes with 4 people behind the counter and no one bothered to help until I had to ask for assistance. I ordered a cheese quesadilla with grilled onions, I know it’s seems weird but that’s what I like. What I didn’t appreciate was the girl telling another employee«that’s disgusting» in a hushed tone when I was still looking at her! Then she calls me over to ask if she put enough grilled onions to my liking, to which I told her yes but I would like more cheese because there was hardly any cheese on it! When I asked that, she rolled her eyes and went and whispered to the other employee again while they both stare at me. picked up a little bit of cheese between 2 fingers and threw it on there while the other employee says«yolo». So childish and unprofessional. I will NOT be returning to this location!

It’s been a few years, so I decide to give Izzo’s another try. I found out you can order online, which made for a much easier transaction because I decided to opt out of the burrito and get the burrito bowl with pork and just about everything possible on it. They even had a little pick up window. I brought the beast in a bowl back work and ate as much as I could in front of my jealous co-workers.

Second time here, still not impressed. The wait is horrible, so if you’re looking for a quick place to eat, don’t come here. This location is much worse in terms of service and speed versus the one on Bluebonnett. Not sure if it’s the actual location, or staff, but it seems both times the wait was much longer than needed. The burrito in a bowl is my go to meal when I eat here. Nothing to rave about, and does the job at filling the belly when hungry. All the toppings seem to be fresh, and portions are great so I would recommend. Would I eat here again, sure. Still not a bad place to eat, just not a great place if you’re looking for a quick meal. Sure beats cheap mexican food from the border, but the lack in speed is the trade off.

This place was terrible! I ordered a burrito online. When I picked it up(on time), it was cold, like literally chilled. It must have been in a fridge, who knows why! I had to heat it up in the microwave because it was so cold. Even then it was bad. And it was missing a sauce even though it was part of my order. Oh and the girl at the pick-up window wasn’t very friendly either. In other words, this place sucked in every way unfortunately.

Better than Chipotle in my opinion. Being originally from California their are an overwhelming amount of Chipotle’s every where you go so having an option like Izzo’s is definitely a plus in my book. The location is very convenient and has its own parking lot with a good amount of spaces. as far as the food goes it is very delicious. I really enjoy the fact that you get to make your burrito exactly the way you want it. What I like about Izzo’s better than Chipotle is the fact they give you options for everything. Chipotle for example just has one type of tortilla. Where as Izzo has multiple types of tortillas, types of chicken, and types of rice. I think this is important as a consumer because it gives me variation. I love having the ability to try new things every time I go. Now the coolest part about Izzo’s is that you can choose the size of your burrito. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone that wants to try something new. All I can say is see you soon Izzo’s!

I am a HUGE fan of Izzo’s and always defend them over Chipotle. A few reasons: 1. Normally fresh 2. LOCAL3. Margaritas…& I normally eat there at least once a week, HOWEVER, for the last several times I have been, the food has been blah. I had a steak salad tonight and the steak was not tasty. In addition, there were not many people in line, but the staff was moving very slow and the place was DIRTY! Food area counters not clean, food containers sitting on top of the counters, and many of the tables and trash can areas needed to be cleaned. I also witnessed a worker start a man’s quesadilla with gloves on and then come back to him at the counter with the same gloves on, pick up a pen and proceed to fill out the options on his quesadilla. I could only imagine the nastiness on that pen and the cross contamination that happened with the gloves. I hope they can get it together.

Just had it for the first time and I already feel like I’ll be cheating on my beloved chipotle from time to time. I had the steak burrito with a cayenne wrap and can I say delicious? The meat was seasoned well, toppings were fresh and it made the whole burrito packed with flavor! I’ll be trying chips and queso too!

I am a Mexican food fan and I enjoy Izzo’s choice of wraps and their food selection. My wife and I eat here 2 – 3 times a month and we find the taste of the food consistent from trip to trip and location to location. We also love the atmosphere and the people are always excited and happy to see us.

I am a huge fan of izzos and always enjoy the food but think it is important to also review the experience as a whole, and although the food did not disappoint(as usual) i feel the need to comment on the running of the business. It was sunday around 2 pm when we decided to visit and grab a couple of burittos for lunch. When we get up to the counter there’s only 2 people working. As we enjoy our food after finally being waited on(b/c the people in front of us wanted shrimp and they are cooked to order) I notice the two people are bouncing back and forth between the register, phone, customers and grill, paying no attention to the dirty tables in the dining room or that the condiment station was out of half of its supplies. Maybe someone called in and they were short handed or maybe the store was under staffed, but when the manager has to step in and work as an employee he has no time to manage.

This place is what you’d expect, but the Burrito in a bowl has to be the best invention since hot water heaters. And the staff is always nice.

Really good burrito. With the alcohol options and different burrito size options, this place reminded me of Bullritos. I enjoyed the cayenne wrap with a combination of pulled pork and dark meat chicken with corn and cilantro ranch. Thumbs up on the chicken as it was marinated very well and had excellent flavor. Can’t say the same regarding the pulled pork though. If you like extra fixins’ such as mushrooms and guac, they start adding up surprisingly.

I prefer Chipotle but they’re not bad. My son loves Izzos. If my son isn’t with me I always go to Chipotle because their pork is amazing. Izzos has terrible pork.

Big cheap delicious burritos. Every college town needs at least one place like this. Austin has Freebird’s and Baton Rouge has Izzo’s. Steak, guacamole, brown rice, pinto beans, jalapeños, cheese & pico is my preferred hangover cure. Go here to soak up that leftover booze from last night or to feed a big appetite.

I’ve always been an Izzo’s fan. I might go to Zippy’s all the time, but I would much rather be eating at Izzo’s. They have more options: toppings and tortillas. Not to mention the sizes of the burritos are humongous! I went tonight and got a 6.00 dollar special. The burrito came with chips and a drink. Pretty good deal if you ask me. It’s always clean and the employees are nice. They also have a drive thru. If you’re in the mood for some quick and good Mexican, hit them up! Ps. Don’t forget to put some southwest Caesar sauce in your burrito or salad. It’s amazing!

I LOVE the burritos! I start off with the regular misdemeanor but by the time all my toppings are in, it’s totally illegal! The veggie toppings are so fresh and their housemade sauces are very tasty! I love spicy foods, and their hot sauces pack a lot of bang! I wanted guacamole but they ran out… no sweat! I have plenty of delicious toppings! After I exited, one of the staff members ran after me and handed me a side of fresh avocado on the house! Winning! Love the happy hour! 4 – 7 M-F 2 for 1 margaritas, $ 1 chips & salsa. Olé!

I must say I am very satisfied whenever I go to Izzo’s. I usually order the shrimp quesadilla on cayenne tortilla wrap. The meal is always cooked well. The guy/girl taking my order always gives suggestions on what I should add to my quesadilla. Ingredients are always FRESH!!! Next party I have will feature their fajita bar. YUM!

Cilantro + Ranch = Match made in heaven!!! They took 2 of my favorite flavors and combined them to create a delish sauce I could take a bath in every day. sigh! This place is like a local Qdoba or Chipotle, only the ingredients felt a little more fresh! The wheat wrap is great and just a «regular misdemeanor» was enough to satiate my dinner craving today! The corn salsa and the pico are both are awesome and service was friendly, but a little slow. The ambiance left a LOT to be desired however. This is pretty much a staple for a lot of people living in the surrounding apartment complexes and is perfect for a quick take and go

If you want a burrito as big as an appendage, go for the Illegal Burrito. I’m a wuss and went for the smallest one. So, the set up here is sort of like a Subway, you select what you want and then watch as they pimp out your burrito. They have lots of options, so the possibilities are statistically infinite. My burrito turned out pretty tasty — a solid 3.5-star experience!
