Weirdly small portions. Cones aren’t even even filled up, and everything is overpriced. My malt was grainy and came with the teeniest tiniest straw I have ever seen, which made it a chore to drink. The staff are really slow and awkward. I get the feeling no one involved in this shop has ever worked in food service or any job that requires a sense of urgency. On top of the slowness, I have yet to order without being corrected. Order a twist cone? Get a smug«You mean a vanilla chocolate.» Not a question, a correction. The girl at the drive through went to the trouble of checking if the strawberry topping has red food coloring, which my child is allergic to. Then she brought me a sunday covered in a red cherry and dripping with food colored cherry juice. I asked for no cherry, plus it was a no-brainer. When I asked her to fix it, she wandered off and left me to flick red food colored whipped cream out of my car window. I paid five bucks for something I had to dissect in the drive-through so my kid could eat it. I have yet to wait less than 20 minutes, even though its the middle of winter and dead. Tasty freeze could move a football team in that time. The owners really need to take a serious look at their ability to understand what constitutes good service and what is a reasonable portion and price if they want to make it. Poor service, execution and pricing is a recipe for failure.

Nom Nom Nom! They have hot Nutella. Do I need to say more? No. Okay, but I will. The soft serve ice cream flavors are very flavorful. Come with at least 3 people. Everyone order ice cream. Then get a funnel cake. Then put pieces of funnel cake in your ice cream. Then moan with delight. You are welcome. Oh, service is excellent too. :)

The coffee floats are delicious! Staff was friendly, and Frostbite has some of the best soft serve I’ve ever had. This definitely won’t be my last time eating here!

Ice cream: exceptionally creamy with tons of flavor. Nothing at all like what the fast food joints call soft serve. The pumpkin pie ice cream was fantastic, and the dreamsicle«flavor burst» even more so. Funnel cakes: crispy with a good bite, but also with great inner texture. Nice flavor. Coffee floats: Life changer. Who knew these could be so good? We had one with vanilla ice cream and can’t imagine life without it now. Coffee: the Dynamite blend they’re using is very good. I had the lighter roast, which is better than what I get at more pricy local specialty coffee joints. The atmosphere is nice and bright. The employees are super friendly and helpful.

Frostbite is a newly opened, local ice cream shop located right off Patton Ave. They offer soft serve mainly, but also offer coffee, funnel cakes, and other delicious treats. What stands out about this shop is the freshness! The ice cream is literally made as you order, through a flash-freezing process. If you’re in the area, be sure to stop by and support this new business. The owners are nice, and their staff is attentive and welcoming. Oh, try the caramel apple shake! It’s probably one of the best things that will ever graze your tongue and slide down you throat.

Love this place! It’s a cozy little soft serve ice cream joint next to the bowling alley and Rocky’s on Patton. They have real, creamy soft serve, with a rotating selection of flavors in addition to the standard vanilla and chocolate. They also offer an ice cream with Flavor Burst added which puts a flavored syrup of your choice along the edges of your swirl. The staff is very friendly. Frostbite is lacking some of the more unique«Asheville» aspects of ice cream shops like the Hop, which is fine with me, because while I like The Hop, sometimes I want to skip the pretention of the Blueberry Kale Dobra Tea Chamomile or whatever is on special and just get some good old fashioned soft serve. That’s what they do at Frostbite and they do it well. I can’t speak on the beignets or the funnel cakes, but I will say that having funnel cakes available at a drive thru could be dangerous… for me. Would love to see them expand to offering some simple lunch options like hot dogs or nachos so I can make it a one-stop lunch spot.

Super friendly people there! Delicious beignets! A great addition to Patton avenue. Reminds me of an old school soda shop, my dad would love this place. It’s cool it’s in front of bowling alley so you can hit it up too.

Great ice cream, I had the chocolate dipped cone, and. I felt like I got what I paid for size wise. Even though its winter I will definitely be going back this season. They are going to do great this summer!

The ice cream was very good, but I wouldn’t recommend the beignets. The proprietors are very enthusiastic and eager to please. I really hope this business makes it. I prefer firm ice cream, but husband is a soft serve fan, and he liked it a lot. Being from the New Orleans area I am very particular about what people call beignets, and I haven’t found any outside of So. La. that make the grade. I give them credit for trying.

So the new kids on the block know how to make a milkshake! I had to force myself to get something other than the pumpkin pie milkshake that I got last time I was here, because all of the flavors sound so damn delicious! Today’s shake is the caramel apple pie. Hurray for sticking to the thanksgiving shakes! I wasn’t aware that you could grind up the entirety of an apple pie and drink it through a straw. It’s amazing!

I’m a big fan of soft serve ice cream. Hard frozen ice cream is amazing but there is something soothing about a heaping come if well made soft serve. Frostbite hits it out of the park. The flavors are innovative and change weekly. The ice cream is literally made fresh before being served to you. They offer a coffee float — 16 oz coffee cup with a generous serving of salted caramel ice cream surrounded by a hot custom blend of dynamite roasting coffee. It’s heaven in a cup. This unique place offers other goodies too including hot from the fryer beignets like you would get in New Orleans. Go. Eat ice cream. Ignore that diet. The calories are worth it.

I have wished for different flavors in soft serve for years. Finally, someone has filled that need. well. The salted caramel is warm and delicious, lime sherbet intense and creamy, the tropical orange a perfect blend of orange syrup and vanilla softserve. They have shaved ice, which is not as fine as I’d like, but passable, and the coffee roasted by dynamite roasting company is a nice foil for the salted caramel in the coffee float. I am from cajun country and picky about beignets, but they have them down to a science in a cute star shape. This is my new jam. I’m an instant regular.

This place opened today, and after taking my family of 10 for a trial run I heartily approve. I’ve enjoyed Asheville’s frozen treat scene for years, and love a good kale almond milk sorbet from time to time. However(and particularly for my kids) there’s an revered place for the proven classics – namely soft serve and beignets. We had at least one of everything on the menu barring coffee creations, and it was all spot-on. I should add that their coffee is superb. They’ve collaborated with Dynamite(the preeminent local roaster) on a light and a dark roast — I had a cup of the Icebreaker brew and it was perfect. This place is brand new, but already feels like a fixture in the best sense. They seem community-minded, organized and motivated. With our support, Frost Bite stands to be a(tasty) boon to the West Asheville community.
