Overall very pleasant. Great outdoor seating looking across to Botanic gardens. Excellent bull tail and gazpacho. Enjoyed the accommodating staff. Good sangria too You pay extra to sit outside, eat outside and for the bread, but it says so on the menu and bread was fresh and warm. Don’t want extra charge sit inside, you are not compromising your experience Would come again. Food overall good, pork was dry though

Pros: location. Right next to Prado and good outdoor seating. Good ambiance. Great bread(there is a catch though, see below). Cons: Our food was ok, but not good for the price. Service was quite slow, even for Spanish standards(took 15 minutes to get check after asking). € 1 charge per person to sit outside. Previously mentioned bread, which is placed on your table when you are seated, is not free(€ 1.50 per piece). They also bring you a little one bite taster, which you will also be charged for.

This was my first trip to Spain and so far the great meals were too few and far between. Which might sound crazy to most but I will not want a sandwich, pizza or gelato for at least six months after this visit. So going through a menu with multiple pages of mouthwatering items at reasonable pricing I was impressed. Right away they brought us a ceviche like tapas with mussels that had me wanting more and I don’t even like green olives but all the flavored mixed perfectly. We ordered the shrimp skewers app, goat cheese ensalada, and the tuna entrée. We were three adults and with the bottle of wine it was a perfect lunch. I realize this is probably all chance but the icing on the cake was our waiter not only because his wine recommendation was spot on but also because he spoke English. After signing our way though most menus it was great to have a nice conversation with a local. It is great to sit outside but that is easy to come by in Madrid but what was rare was it wasn’t a busy street so we sat for awhile and enjoyed our vacation. They did start to rush our order process but once we told them we were not ready to order they kept their distance and allowed us to take our time.

This is like eating outdoors, overlooking Central Park and having spent the morning at the Met. It’s civilized on the café outdoor dining area, interesting people watching, a public bike stand at your disposal and amazing options for wine and lunchtime food. I didn’t get blown away but settled in with a bottle of wine, watched people and their pooches walk by and thought about the daunting art I just saw at the Prado. Seriously, how can that be three stars by others standards?

Nivel adecuado para el lugar y el precio. Buena carta y buen servicio. Quizás desmerecen un poco los aseos.

Nice atmosphere and great for a quick lunch after a walk in the park. We sat outside and had no problem ordering in English, after our obligatory attempt at broken Spanish to get the ball rolling. The house provided an appetizer of small tuna salad bites, two of which were dark colored hopefully due to squid ink. I ate them all… so. Ham croquettes — great flavor but almost glue-like in consistency inside. That was a bummer because they became harder to eat after the first few bites. Maybe too much gluten? Butifarra sausage and white bean«aioli» — This was the highlight of the meal, the spicy sausage contrasted well with a white bean salad(aioli as the waiter described it). Calamari — good enough Not too pricey(even for Europe) and a nice place to grab a beer and lunch.

Ordering for an English menu near impossible. Food was ok but overpriced.
