Panzon servers a pretty extensive list of wines by glass. The prices are ok for the wines. You can combine small dishes — a selection of starters, charcuterie, cheese etc. These are fairly priced. The ambience is a bit dark, very cozy for wine drinking, but almost too dark for dining. However the atmosphere is great and the service was good. I would go there for a good glass of wine and a light supper.

This is a great place to sit at the bar, share a glass of wine or have a really good beer with friends. I often see it used as a dates place because the atmosphere is really hygge and candles are always lit. The reason why I don’t use it for the same purpose is that I am just not that big of a fan of the food. It is kind of hit or miss and I am not sure I completely understand their concept of Tapas. Maybe I am a spoiled little brat having spent quite a bit of time in Spain but panzon is certainly not Tapas. I guess I am being a bit harsh and the food is by no means bad, I think the concept is a little askew. Back to what is good: the wine list is great. Lots of fun stuff to choose from and the descriptions of the wine are absolutely hilarious. Once again the atmosphere is dark, candle lit, and full of energy on a wednesday or thursday night. I also really like their selection of bottled beer and often sit up at the bar with a friend to enjoy an early evening drink. One final tip– they sell wine to go at a really good price. So if you are in need and walk by this is a great place to buy a bottle to share at a friends house or just sit at home and enjoy.

Panzon is where to go for a really good glass of wine; and that’s the special kind of good which reassures you life is meaningful after all. The place is small and cozy, tucked away on a cobbled side street in one of Copenhagen’s more posh areas. Ask the bartenders anything about wine and they will know the answer. Add that to great tapas and great people. Go here Friday evening before a night out, or check it out after a hard day’s work. PS if you’re in the area during the day then look across the street from Panzon to find Copenhagen’s gourmet butcher/deli — the place to be if you have a weakness for wild boar!
