AMAZING ice cream. I had the hazelnut and it was perfect. The woman working there was a complete doll and even recommended a dinner place. This ranks up there with some of the best ice cream I’ve had!

Easily the best ice cream my family and I had on our recent trip to Copenhagen. In fact, the ice cream here is among the best we’ve ever had. Osterberg has a changing selection of flavors and includes sorbet as well — some of our favorites included lakrids(licorice), coffee, elderflower, and chocolate. There’s an inventive selection of flavors(red dragonfruit for example) and the ice creams are smooth, tasty, and wonderfully light. We had the pleasure of meeting Cathrine, the owner/creator of Osterberg, who was so friendly and welcoming to her store. The shop itself is bright and charming with a few seats inside and bench outside depending on your preference. We were staying nearby and after trying a few other ice cream places in different parts of Copenhagen, decided that Osterberg was clearly our favorite and made it part of a daily vacation experience. Highly, highly recommended.

I scream, you scream, we all scream for is cream! Danish ice cream is delicious. My personal favorite is Østerberg Is in Østerbro. It is a small shop on Rosenvængets Allé run by Catherine Østerberg and family. Every flavor we have tried here is fantastic, but my go to(if it is available) is the lakrids(yes, licorice! The Danes are seeping in!) and kokos(coconut.) YUM. My husband loves the avocado and the kids go for the havtorn and hyldeblomst — also very Danish flavors. The shop is small and charming and Catherine is helpful explaining about her more exotic offerings. She says you can«taste the world» and I can confirm, it tastes DELICIOUS.

Best. Ice cream. Ever. No, seriously — from plain classics to funkier, more exotic flavors — Østerberg’s creations win out over all others not only for the remarkably clean flavors, but the amazing texture. This is some serious world champion stuff. The flavors aren’t crazy — there’s no Secret Breakfast here(for those of you familiar with San Francisco’s Humphry Slocombe and their iconic bourbon/cornflakes flavor). But the quality is just through the roof. Surrounding Østerbro may be residential and quiet — and my CPH friends sometimes give me shit for staying in this not-so-hip area whenever I’m in town — but being able to have this ice cream for dessert every evening makes it worthwhile. For those of you who aren’t an old and mellow shell of your former self, it’s worth the short trip from your hip and/or touristy and/or edgy neighborhood for«tre kugler, tak!»

I believe that Østerberg Ice Cream is doing everything right. It’s a small ice cream shop at Østerbro, where two smiling ladies are producing and selling their own ice cream. I love the concept — that there are no additional ingredients in the ice cream, no weird stuff to get the right color or the right taste. It’s all for real, and you know that they’ve prepared everything in the back. That’s hard work, and you can taste it. The ice cream is really good — better than most other ice cream I’ve tasted in Copenhagen. There are different flavors to choose from every time you come. I’ve heard really good things about their«brownie”-ice cream, an ice cream with home baked brownies, but it’s been sold out every time I’ve visited. The shop is rather small, and you better take your ice cream with you when you’ve bought it. The lakes are just a few 100 meters away, and is a perfect place to sit and eat your ice cream.

This ice cream is amazing! Just popped into the cute little shop which only opened a few weeks ago. There were 12 or so flavours to choose from and from other reviews I’ve learned that they change daily(excuse to go back tomorrow? Of course!). I selected the ginger chili and jackfruit since I was keen to try some of the more exotic flavours. I’ve never tried jackfruit before, but I was shown a photo of the fruit and given a description of the taste and a sample — Not that I needed any convincing! It was a delicious, refreshing choice. I chose chocolate and hazelnut for my husband and was lucky enough to sample those as I hurried home with the 2 cones(‘oh honey sorry I HAD to take a few licks… It was dripping, you know, the heat…’). I highly recommend the hazelnut it was extremely flavorful and fresh. The portion sizes were just perfect and 2 scoops of smooth, fresh ice cream in a waffle cone for 30 dkk is a fair price in my opinion. All in all I am very pleased and feel lucky that this shop has opened exactly 1 block away from our apartment. I can’t wait to go back to try some more!

I recently visited Østerberg Ice Cream for the first, and definetly not last time, because Cathrine’s ice creams might just be the best I have ever had. There are around 50 flavours(they change every day) and some lovely exotic ones too like jackfruit, mangosteen, tamarind etc. They even roast their own hazelnuts for the hazelnut ice cream and bake their own cones. It is a highly recommended treat for the warm summer weather!

Had some really good ice cream here, smooth and many flavours I haven’t seen before. It is a new place, but in the future it would be cool if they also offered coffee or drinks to go with the ice cream. Try the elderflower and litchie, my favourites, fresh and tasty! To my surprise they also accept real Visa and Mastercard opposed to the common pseudo Visa/Mastercard in denmark, dancard, good one!
