Very, very good steak. Had the t-bone and ribeye. Fantastic. Very intimate(tight) seating but nice. Service was very good and friendly. Be aware of the price. Dinner for two with wine was about 2,000dkk. Still, no regrets. It was a terrific meal and I will go again.

This is meat heaven. At the butcher you get quality organic meat, and at the restaurant you get very well prepared steaks. We visited the restaurant a Saturday, and all seatings were booked. It very important to book in advance. The main focus is the steaks, so starters and deserts are very limited. To be frank you can only eat the steak, and that is it. We shared a starter, slices of different sausage, olives, almonds, and a little bread. It is just a snack before the meat feast. Steaks are served with potatoes, greens and bearnaise or a glacé. Simple, but done to perfection. Did not try the desert. We could not manage to eat anything more. They looked nice, and were complimented by the other guests. Gourmandiet for the evening, where you have a urge for beef. I am going to eat at Gourmandiet a lot. They are only failing at one point. It is a little cold for feet and legs, if you are seated down stair besides the butcher shop.

Best butcher in Copenhagen — but also the most expensive. If you want meat that is tender you will get it here — you should try out the T-bone, as good as anything you’ve ever tasted. They also serve brunch and dinner in the weekend — try it out, its all worth the money.

This review is for the restaurant side. Excellent, simple food with very nice service. These guys know what they’re doing with meat: perfectly cooked to your specifications(I like medium rare and they got it just right) paired with simple side dishes that don’t overwhelm the beef. The green beans did have a strangely large amount of sesame seeds sprinkled on top… I’m not sure they added that much to the dish other than to get stuck in your teeth constantly(but this is a minor complaint). Service was extremely efficient and professional. My impression is that if you book a table here, you can get it for the entire evening, so there’s no rush here to turnover tables like there is in some Copenhagen restaurants(*cough* Cofoco). Definitely a good place if you(1) like beef and(2) like to take your time.

What a find. This little butcher shop tuck away in a very hip area of Copenhagen was the culinary high point of our trip to Denmark. Besides the amazing food(steaks), the staff and ambience were incredible. The wine list is exactly what a hearty steakhouse should offer and the prices were reasonable. My wife and I LOVED this place!

When we briefly lived in Østerbro, we used to come to the butcher shop for mini-sausages(snackenpøllser) and prepared foods(green bean salads, etc.). Great quality ingredients and preparations. Only downside was that making a meal out of the prepared foods would get expensive quickly.

Gourmandiet is my favorite source for grassfed meats. Their meat is tender, and extremely fresh, and when cooked side by side with the conventional stuff, the difference is unbelievably clear. They also sell a wide range of meat stocks(from chicken to veal, to demiglace to…), nitrate and sugar free organic sausages, and other prepared frozen foods. I have heard amazing things about Gourmandiet by Night, and will update this review once it gets check off my list. :)
