O’right, so we stopped at Hero on our way home after a bit of Saturday shopping and got quite amazed. Outside benches and tables are placed among boxes of bamboo which creates quite a cozy atmosphere for people-watching and lounging in the sun, which will last till quite late at Jarmers Plads. We started with a bit from the grill, I had the Beef Yakitori sticks which came on a bed of finely cut spring onions with ginger and chives and my company got the Veggie version with teriyaki — both were delicious! As main we choose the Noum Special and the Grilled Squash & Goma. The Noum consists of deep fried tempura langoustine with cucumber and flame grilled salmon with roe and spicy mayo on top, as an inside out maki roll. Probably the best combination I’ve had to date. A must try if you pop by. The Goma looked delicious, but to be honest, I didn’t get to try it. We had a great chat to one of waiters, who were, by the way quite service minded and helpful. Apparently tuna has been suspended on the menu due to the current over-fishing and the kitchen only uses fish and ingredients swimming and growing in the Scandinavian regions. Somehow I appreciate a bit of sustainable thinking. We ended our evening with a few cocktails from the Japanese inspired cocktail menu. Both the Cingers Apple and the Lemongrass Martini are recommendable. One think I missed a bit in the menu, was to know the amount of rolls that came in a dish. Lovely place, I’ll definitely be back for more Noum
