The best wood-fired pizza place at affordable prices too! Full of unusual pizza selections! Tried 5 different pizzas and all of them were beyond our expectations, tasted more Italian than the other regular food chain pizza places. Despite the humble settings, the place was packed! Definetly will come back for some more! A very good option to eat something authentic without hurting the wallet, that’s the best part!

Tried the four cheese pizza and the same thing twice. Liked it and will recommend it. But the service is not great but not bad either and the place can be noisy. A bit pricy for the ambience but eh, Italian food prices seems to be going up and up in Singapore, so I guess they are milking it too.

Nice hangout place in the east. I love Spizza’s truffle pizza above all the others because this is less common than the standard fare which you can find elsewhere. Great taste and the smell of the truffle makes you hungry even before you tuck in! The parma ham, calamari rings and chicken wings are also great for sharing so order those if you’re here in a big group. They have a ravioli dish stuffed with spinach that is pretty awesome too. This place is a little pricey for pizza though, but I guess that you have to pay more for the nice ambience. Get a seat by the window and people watch as East Coast Road is pretty busy with human traffic.

This is a review of a large takeout order from Spizza for a work-related team lunch. I was not involved in the ordering process. I was not involved in the pick-up process. I can only comment on the pizza itself. We ordered a wide range of pizzas. Overall, they do provide numerous options that stray away from your typical pepperoni and mushroom pizzas. Their pizza has a thin but flavourful crust. They use fresh ingredients. Overall their pizzas are higher quality than your average pizza shop. But, in some ways, they are simply different from your traditional pizzas. There are times I would just rather have a old school comfort style greasy pizza. If this is what you are seeking, Spizza is not the place. But, if you have a hankering for pizza, and want something that is a little lighter, then this may be the place for you. Their pizzas did not travel particularly well though. Because of the thin and harder crust, they do not maintain their warmth. So, for take out, you will more than likely be eating cold(or at least room temperature) pizza. I do not know if there is anything they could do in the packaging to improve this or not. But, they might want to consider looking into it. My second comment is on how they incorporate fresh basil. They seem to add it very early in the cooking process. This just destroys basil(visually and flavor-wise). Pizza Margheritas should be red, white, and green, not red, white, and black. I would suggest adding the basil later in the process. This way it can maintain its colour, shape, and fresh flavour. The overall impression from the team was that it was very good pizza. It was certainly devoured pretty quickly. They also offer pizzas for a wide-range of dietary likes, needs and restrictions; no cheese, no pork, no sauce, vegetarian, etc. I would like to try their pizza dining in. I think it would be much better hot out of the oven. The Pizzas(an * marks my personal favorites): *ISABELLA — Tomato, Mozzarella, Parma Ham, Rucola Salad CLAUDIA(without cheese) — Tomato, Bell Peppers, Zucchini, Eggplants, Artichokes, Mushrooms XANDRA — Tomato, Mozzarella, ground Beef, red Onions, Pineapple, Bell Pepper SOFIA — Tomato, Mozzarella, Shrimps, Mussels, Scallops, Calamari, fresh Basil HELENA — Tomato, Mozzarella, grilled Chicken in Pesto sauce, Bell Peppers *QUINTA — Tomato, Mozzarella, Egg, Black Truffle paste *TARA — Tomato, Mozzarella, Egg, Bacon, Button Mushrooms MARGHERITA — Tomato, Buffalo Mozzarella, fresh Basil URSULA — Tomato, Mascarpone, Spinach, smoked Salmon, Capers Overall, I think their pizza is probably best suited for dining in. That being said, the team didn’t seem to mind too much that the pizza wasn’t exactly hot. The creative options and fresh ingredients do provide a nice escape from the traditional heavier/more greasy pizzas. For larger groups, it is also nice that they can cater to a wide range of dietary needs.

I’ve lived in this part of Katong my whole life and have seen this place change from Denny’s to a French-Vietnamese restaurant to a lighting shop to countless other things. Nothing ever lasts here, no matter how well it seems to be doing. It’s a bit spooky. But I’m hoping Spizza will break the curse. It’s a great place for vegans and vegetarians too. If you’re vegan and want pizza, go for the Claudia(all their pizza is named after women) cos it has tomatoes, bell peppers, artichokes and more veggies, all on tomato base without the cheese. super yummy!($ 15/$ 19) They’ll also be able to do most other pizzas without the cheese. You can also customise your own pasta, like a more glamorous version of pastamania, and a lot better too. They have fresh pasta, which is always a preference for pasta people. I usually just go for the Penne Arrabiatte($ 15). Start your meal with some Bruschetta at $ 9.50 and you’re all set. You’ve got a good view of East Coast Road and it’s many sights and stuff from the raised interior too.

I went there when they were having a lunch promotion where you get 50% off the second pizza you order. Not sure if its still going on but it was quite worth it. If I remember correctly, I was there for an early valentine’s day lunch with my girlfriend(13th feb) and the place wasn’t that crowded thankfully. We ordered the mushrooms soup, calamari, diavola pizza and the one with parma ham and rocket. They give their pizzas ladies names and for the life of me I cant recall any of them. Haha. Anyway the food was good. I enjoyed the calamari and the soup, as well as the parma ham pizza. The diavola was just a little too oily but I think I’m a returning customer!
