Not my favorite place to have my meal. I only come here when I or my friends have cravings for soup/sandwich or when we are unfortunately stuck in school and expected to settle our meal within 30 minutes. There are less people here as compared to the canteen on the third floor, which is a good thing since you want to have your meal in peace. They have a lot of soups to choose from, and limited number of sandwiches and pasta. I personally find their tomato based food too sour for my liking. It leaves an aftertaste which I do not like. Also, I don’t find their soup particularly outstanding. So it’s nothing fabulous about it. Oh yar, the salad’s good though!

This place has disappointed me and my classmates numerous times but we still went back — reason being it was the nearest eatery to our lecture theatres and the ‘local delights’ coffee shop next to it had an early closing timing. The soups in Souperlicious were either too salty or too bland. We usually leave the soup halfway and finish the rest of the sandwich. The sandwiches weren’t too bad though the standards were a little hit or miss. I guess this outlet of Souperlicious has proved a point that hungry students will eat anything. Our unanimous favourite sandwich was the… can’t remember the name but it’s something chicken, pineapples and bacon. There’s the souper card which allows you to redeem sandwiches after a certain accumulation.

Before the face-lift(which was done last year), SIM only had 2 general areas of consumption — a food court and another canteen. The opening up of this outlet — gave an option for healthier options(as opposed to the hawker fare options at the other 2 eating establishments). I was pretty pleased! I can actually get fresh vegetables and soup! What I Love: There’s not only a comprehensive soup menu(yeah, it’s really pretty cool), there are salads, wraps and pastas. I’m more for healthy food options, so I’ve tried the soups and sandwiches here. They taste good, it’s fresh, and you get student prices? Like could it be any better??? :P What I Don’t Love: Portion sizes can be a little bit dodgy. Like for the price you pay for a Subway sandwich — you’d be getting a wayyyy bigger one, as opposed to here. So, in that sense — I prefer Subway.
