If you are an SIM student, be it uniSIM or SIMGE, you’ll probably visit this library more often than you thought you will. It is THE library that is stocked up with all if not most of the resources than you need in your academic endeavor. Time to time, your prof may request you to get read up some readings from the certain books at the library too. I like that the librarians are really friendly, they entertain each and every student’s questions and enquiries patiently and sincerely. Also, there are some computer kiosks that are available for use, lest those at the cyberstation are all taken up. They also have what you call the study cubicles, which is significantly filled when the universities with bigger student bodies, like RMIT or UOL, are going through their examination period. I have a love-hate relationship with these cubicles because it allows you to have your own space, but it gets irritating when you have people studying with their friends, and chat over the cubicles or keep popping their heads out to check on their friends.

As a student in this school — I’ve been using the library quite a bit over the last few years — it’s pretty useful. I like all the tables and spaces they have provided for studying — and all the computers for general access is great. I usually go in to get books related to my subjects and they are all provided and you can loan them overnight in the evening — if no one else has borrowed them. What I Love: There are areas to study and it’s easy to use the computers, print documents out and borrow reference books. Some of these books are hard to find in general libraries. This library gets 4 stars as the staff are really great — they are attentive, hard working, and really make the effort to help if you have queries. I do take my hat off to the librarians. What I Don’t Love: The late fines charged for reference books — they are like $ 0.50 every 15 mins or something? So, I spent like $ 12 for a late fee — I could have just bought the darn book. So, just kinda watch out for that.
