Post Bar

Post Bar has been around for a while now; however, I only recently discovered it through my trusty Chope app. I happened to have some time to kill before meeting up with 2 friends from the US at nearby Palm Beach, so I decided to give it a shot.
«Ugly Sports Bar» might be a bit of an exaggeration while describing the ambiance. Yes, it has a big projector screen at one end of the room that shows football matches, along with other flat screens showing other sports. There’s also a foosball table in the middle of the room. But overall, the marble walls, nice furniture, classy looking bar, and clientele still says «upscale and smart casual». I didn’t see any bros hanging around; they were mostly businessmen in suits enjoying happy hour.
Speaking of happy hour, I would say it’s a pretty good deal here. The house wines go for $ 12 per glass, and some of their signature cocktails go for $ 15 instead of $ 21. (Note that champagne cocktails are not included in this deal.) I was also served some popcorn and chips, and I’m not gonna lie– they were tasty.
I wouldn’t say that this is a great hangout spot after work with colleagues, as I still find it a little stuffy considering all the older businessmen around. But if you need to take out a client, chat with your boss outside work, or discuss a business deal, this would be a good place to do it.

It used to be such a classy bar with a great ambience but now it’s turned into a ugly sports bar. The drinks were good but they were pricey. It was quiet on a Friday night except a few tourists. I was disappointed that it changed so much.

Post Bar is the hotel bar of the Fullterton Hotel. This is a really nice and classy bar with a sophisticated interior. They’ve got a pretty extensive wine and drinks list here and a full bar.
They have many variations of the iconic Singapore Sling, which is interesting. Seeing as this seemed to be their specialty, I ordered one (even though I normally would not). Unfortunately I was really disappointed. I don’t remember other Singapore Slings Ive tasted being SO sweet. It was sickeningly sweet almost. We sent it back and complained and they almost seemed offended and annoyed that we sent it back; which was unprofessional.
Not a place I would go back to.

Looking for a late night drinking session in a classy bar? Post Bar is the right place to go.
They have a wide variety of cocktails and wines that you can order by glass and the service was relatively good, with orders served promptly upon ordering.
The underlit bar tables for one or a couple, both high and low tables that allow a group of four to be seated comfortably and have a catch up session without much interruption with the lounge music playing at the background. Reservations are not really necessary, as the place doesn’t get too crowded. Perhaps most people are intimidated by the décor and think that it costs a bomb to have a drink here. Which isn’t that far from the truth.
It’s relatively pricey, but what you’re paying for is the ambience and service that is quite different. Perfect for a night of romance!
