Absolutely terrible food, a disgrace to call themselves a Japanese restaurant. Got a Groupon to try this restaurant. Absolute mistake! I will just highlight the worst stuff. 1. The charcoal grilled chicken with truffle topping was BURNT! The burnt taste just filled your whole palate when you bite into it. No self respecting chef would ever serve burnt food! :( 2. The sauce of the chicken was also too salty. 3. The supposed«spicy yellow sauce» on top of aburi spicy salmon roll is way too salty. So over powering that you can’t taste any of the spiciness. 4. The duck soba was bland. 5. All the portions are small and pathetic. An absolute disgrace to have such a restaurant in such a iconic and scenic site in Singapore! :((((

I was one of the many people who got the Groupon Voucher for San Sui and here’s how my experience here is like. Having looked at all the bad reviews I was a bit cautious about eating here but I think it has been overly exaggerated. I won’t say the food and service is terrible but then again it also won’t say that it is good. Price is quite high and for the quality of food that they serve, I would say it isn’t worth it. Food was alright but many came cold and certain dishes such as the Cha Soba with Duck Soup tasted bland.

Terrible service; decent food but good location(located in One Fullerton with a view of the Marina Bay Sands). All in all, nothing note-worthy.

Stick to the grilled food. It is a sumiyaki bar, the grilled food comes with a good charcoal taste, great with an ice cold beer facing the marina bay. The tsukune is great. It has a good mix of chicken softbone which provides a good bite and texture. And you get 3 balls for $ 5. But I still prefer my tsukune at River Valley. The tuna roll was not worth it. Tiny 6 pieces of sushi for $ 15. Ouch! Come early and grab a seat outdoor. It is a nice chill spot. Dock a star for the price. It is not exactly a cheap spot.

San-Sui is a sumiyaki restaurant which, in laymen terms, means it’s one that specialises in charcoal-grilled dishes. I have to admit, the food here is absolutely fantastic, and I was certainly bowled over by the quality and flavours of the dishes that arrived. The interiors are beautiful, too, and the layout of this place is really inspired. However, it’s incredibly steep, and prices made me feel a little faint when I considered that they charged per stick. The charcoal-grilled wagyu for instance, costs SGD28 each, and each stick boasts 3 cubes of the meat. It is delicious, however, and the meat is buttery and cooked to perfection. Most of the items I tried were fantastic, but I doubt I’ll be returning regularly because of the high prices.

San-Sui is a Japanese restaurant located at the bay front, serving extremely yummy food. Prices can get a bit high though, so it’s best to go there when you’re entertaining clients and have a company expense account. The sashimi is to die for — lushly cut pieces of fresh fish that tastes like pure heaven. San-sui is also the perfect place to bring someone that you want to impress to. Combine the food, atmosphere and great location — and you will be hard pressed to find a better place(:

San-Sui Sumiyaki & Bar is a nice cosy restaurant located on the waterfront at One Fullerton and specialises in binchotan which ensures the food cooks well at high temperatures while sealing in its flavours Food: We started off with light bites of tatami iwashi, crunchy deep fried baby sardines and strips of Japanese long yam sprinkled liberally with chicken powder … quite addictive! From the sumiyaki menu, the tokusei tsukune(minced chicken and cartilage served with raw quail’s egg) was nicely juicy with a surprise crunch in the middle and we also really liked the yakitori peta(grilled chicken skin) which was nicely grilled to a crisp. The hotate had the perfect balance of being juicy yet at the same time, wafting a discreet smokey flavour. The ebi mango roll was a lovely blend of textures and flavours and the piece de resistance, the buta niku maki onigiri(grilled Kurobuta pork rice ball) — two tasty parcels of rice wrapped with succulent slices of kurobuta pork belly created a fulfilling bite to our meal. Ambience: Cosy and intimate, good place for a date or business lunch Service: Excellent! The manager Zann is lovely and attentive to our needs
