I’d probably give Flock Café 5 stars if it weren’t for the price to size ratio. The homemade oatmeal was quite nice, with warm cream, banana, strawberries, and coconut. The salmon Eggs Benny were also quite nice, although the hollandaise sauce was a touch thin. The drink and dessert selection is pretty meagre, but I was satisfied with a San Pellegrino. My eating companion’s espresso was quite nice, though. Both of our food dishes were pretty tasty, but, as I mentioned, too small. Service was fine, and the atmosphere is charming. The interior is bright and simple, and tucked nicely away from the busy-ness outside. A good place for a quiet coffee date, although it does get a little busier around brunch time and you might feel the need to be ushered out(although they would never ask)!

The coffee(Liberty) is good. The flat white is creamy and smooth with no acidic bitter aftertaste and I can have it without any sugar. I realize now that I always add sugar to my coffee only because I cannot stand the bitter and sour taste of it. So now my way to judge if a coffee is good is if I need to add sugar or not. Probably not the best way but it is how I like it. Tucked away under a block of flat in Ghim Moh area(it faces the car park and market), it looks like an odd location. A modern café joint more for the young than for an estate filled with mostly older people. Nevertheless it does attract both the elderly and youngsters. I had the cheeky eggs which was their take on the regular Egg Benedict. Instead of a slice of ham, they served it with braised pork cheeks on brioche. The highlight would be the braised pork cheek, it tasted like your regular Chinese style lor bak or Chinese pulled pork. It was tender and sweetish. The poached eggs failed as it was too vinegary. They need to work on making better poached eggs. The Hollandaise sauce was too weak and lacked the creamy punch. The«salad» was just a couple of lettuce leaves and a few slices of tomato. Such a waste of vegetables for«decoration». The brioche tasted like regular toast. I would probably need to try the other food like the burger and pasta to see if they would be better than the eggs. The dessert selection was minimal with a few slices of cakes and tarts in the display case. I have a feeling they were probably from somewhere else and not baked in house. In the mean time, come here for a good cup of coffee. Cash or NETS payment only.
