If you are coming here on a weekend, you might need to reserve tables. But with that thought of reserving table for a group of 8, I decided to call in to reserve for Monday evening. Tried to call them twice but phone was disengaged and decided to give them another call and managed to reserve with name and contact number. I arrived here 30 minutes before the reserved time. As I was hungry, I had to go ahead and make the order. I ordered… 1. Crispy Duck Prata Roll — it was served in a small size as it was considered as an appetizer. The meat given was in pretty good portion. The prata on the outside was crispy and the duck with other hidden ingredients were pretty juicy.(One of the recommended dish to go for). 2. Durian Pengat — basically durian flesh without seed served in a cocktail glass with crispy cookies(not sure about it’s name). 3. Peach soda with rainbow jelly — wasn’t too impressed as they gave me more ice when I asked for less and the peach syrup at the bottom was harder to stir in a plastic cup and bubble tea/boba straw. So I had a mix of well-stirred peach soda and left over syrup at the bottom of the cup. 4. Spaghetti with laksa sauce and tiger prawn — had to change to this after being tempted by the menu. The waitress let me changed to another dish without much fuss. For this dish, the laksa sauce doesn’t really taste like laksa. Some main ingredients are missing and the sauce was thick even though it supposed to be more watery. The tiger prawn was pretty good in size and the meat was chewy. Overall, this place has nice interior design. And the prices for the dishes are pretty reasonable. Service was great too and it is one of the less crowded dining place that you can go to.

All I wanted was a Fresh Fruit Salad as a mini snack. Little did I know that customers need to order over $ 25 worth of food to use a credit card. I didn’t have any cash on me, so ended up getting fancy: I ordered the Assorted Tea Platter, which came with 6 types of desserts. The minute the desserts come out, the Durian Pengat made its presence loud and known. It was my first time trying anything durian. The pengat tasted like garlic. It was more savory than sweet. The mini hamburger was cute, but tasted plain. The Opera Cake and Tiramisu Cup both tasted very mild in sweetness. Are these desserts truly bland or was the Durian Pengat so strong that it was an hard act to follow? After each dessert, I’d semi-cleanse my palate with a cup of Teh-O. The Coffee Puff was pleasantly coffee-tasting. Though I wish it were more fluffy and soft. The texture was medium-hard. The Red Bean Cake contained pretty textures. Round purple brown circles in translucent surface with leafy somethings scattered here and there… Soft on the top, chewy white base… As I was on my last bite, an ant crawled out from underneath the leaf on which the Red Bean Cake sat on. Cringe. Try the Assorted Tea Platter once, but next time I’ll just stick with the Fruit Salad and Teh-O.
