Simple, old school, comfort food. This is one few remnant stalls from the old jurong ten mile market since 1956. It is important to note that the old uncle that fries a mean dark carrot cake only does it in the morning. In the mornings, they only sell carrot cake. The couple operating the night stall sells fried kway teow and carrot cake. Its still of pretty good standards but it doesnt compare to the old uncle’s.

Carrot cake is one of my favorite snacks; I sometimes have it for supper or even as a side dish during one of my meals. I ordered the mixed(or Yin Yang) black and white carrot cake at this stall. Apparently this is one of the very few places that serve mixed carrot cake, but I didn’t feel that it was very special(I mean come on, it’s just the usual, but mixed together on the same plate). Taste-wise, I would say that the carrot cake is above average; not mind blowingly good but not too shabby either. I did find that the carrot cake was a tad too dry and I generally like my carrot cake a bit wetter. Next I also tried the fried kway tiao mee, which was, in my opinion, a good bit better than the carrot cake. The kway tiao used was noticeably thinner, and the taste was sweet and flavorful. So if you happen to eat at this stall, I’d say maybe give the carrot cake a miss, and go for the kway tiao mee instead.
