Yuck! I’m so ashamed I took Manfriend here. We needed to stop by M1, and I thought, «Hey! Why not! Can’t be bad bc I had it twice before.» Big mistake. My poor date didn’t even finish his baguette or summer spring rolls! The baguette was hard and the filling was minimal. The summer spring rolls were mushy and soft – def. not a true reflection of Vietnamese food or food in general! I had the dry noodle salad – again, super soft noodles but the fish sauce made it bearable. I understand that the concept is ‘inspired by Vietnam,’ but the food is just NOT good. The coffee is decent though. There are better options elsewhere.

If you’re desperate for Vietnamese comfort food and you work at Raffles Plaza, this is your spot. The flavors are awesome. I wish they didn’t use those thick round rice noodles and used thinner flat ones instead. Also, their portions for the spring rolls and chicken or beef or pork with noodles are puny. But the food is tasty and a respite from the pan– and deep– fried hawker fare. On the ground floor. Pass by the Watsons on your left, and it’s on your left.

A pleasant change to the usual sandwich places around, this deli offers Vietnamese inspired fillings and dressings in a baguette — quite a clever idea! Baguettes are pretty good, but thought it could have been ‘crisper’ on the outside. They also have fresh Vietnamese spring rolls which are incredibly healthy(and also taste very healthy haha) — but definately not enough for a meal, I usually get it along with a baguette, or buy it back for afternoon tea if I’m still unsatisfied from lunch: P Would like to see some hot Phở on their menu tho — considering that they do have a few rice and noodle dishes on their menu, it would be great if they offered what I think is one of the best Vietnamese dishes :)

Located in the heart of Rafflesplace, Singapore’s Central Business District, is the Viet-inspired Baguette, a sandwich deli providing fast and healthy lunches to the office crowd. The Vietnamese baguettes are slightly different from the French baguette and is traditionally sweeter and softer than its French counterpart. In Baguette, each baguette is stuffed full of vegetables and seasoned meat or tuna depending on your choice. The baguettes look colourful, smell delicious and taste of a wonderful blend of sweet, savoury and exotic. I usually buy the Pork Baguette with the soda. The soda is a little too sweet, but still tastes good with the plum. The curry is also rather good, although I prefer the baguette. If you’re not hungry, the sushi bread is worth a try. A layer of seaweed, together with pork floss, tuna and other assorted ingredients are rolled with bread, resembling a sweet and savoury Swiss Roll. It is a wonderful snack, but a limited quantity is available for sale and is usually sold rather quickly during lunch hour. Priced at $ 6 to $ 7 a baguette, Viet Baguette is a great place to have a tasty and cheap lunch or even dinner.

Baguette is a Vietnamese-inspired deli which sells banh mi(Vietnamese sandwiches served in a — you guessed it — baguette, albeit a softer version so as not to bruise your mouth) and other Vietnamese delicacies including noodles and rice rolls. You can choose to have an original Saigon baguette and there are other varieties as well, ranging from grilled chicken to meatball to mushroom to beancurd. Each baguette is 6 inches, although they have recently introduced a mini-version of 4 inches. Baguette also serves up Vietnamese drip coffee. My advice would be to get the iced version as there’s no way any human being ought to be able to take that amount of sweetness in one small cup. The coffee did keep me buzzing for quite some time after too. Prices are very reasonable, especially given the current promotion the deli is running. Add on a coffee to your baguette order for an additional $ 2(a saving of $ 1.30) and a side dish for a further $ 2. My advice is to get here either earlier or later than the usual lunch hour as this place gets crowded really fast. You can choose to eat in or take away, but if you’d like to sit… then good luck!
