KK’s secret yeast-raised donut recipe will be turning 78 come july! and with world donut day just celebrated earlier this month, i would like to pay my little tribute with this review. i am glad this company, so steeped in history, made it’s SG grand entry some 20 months back with it’s flagship store in tangs. since then KK has multiplied to 7 on our little red dot. before KK made it to SG, we had dunkin but it just ain’t the same. then came super popular indo j co, who so capitalized on the donut craze that hit a much donut deprived nation! my experiences with KK back then was limited. but much thanks to singapore airlines, i had my first bite of their original glazed on board a flight and it was a magical sugary treat! i guess at 8000ft cabin altitude, that sugary load was just right for them somewhat dull palate sensations. thereafter i seek solace in the land of the rising sun, for they were blessed with KK before we were. this store is now but 1 of more than 1000 around the world! this store is located right smack in the CBD, opens early, closes late(for this area), always clean, with comfy seating, power sockets, free wifi and friendly staff! the soft pillow light donuts speak for itself, though somewhat too sweet at 22ft elevation. therefore my recommendation is to wash it down with a cuppa without sugar! they also have heavier cakey donuts and now mini ones, something for everyone! and that’s my krispy kreme story.
