My regular Saturday morning breakfast. Great prata, probably the best in the area! Order with fish curry sauce, delicious!

We were too late for Mr Moghan’s prata(come before noon!), so we ended up here to satisfy our prata craving. Prata are pre-made and heated up upon order. Not as good as if they fresh make it. The accompanying curry is not bad since it is thick and tasty, not the watered down version in some places. Ok lah. But still Moghan’s prata for me.

The name and management has changed several times and I’m pretty sure it’s not called ABC any longer, but that’s what it was for a long time so the name has stuck; as such, it shall henceforth be referred to as ABC. ABC is in a prime spot because it’s right in between the quirky Katong and East Coast stretch while bordering on the more colourful parts of Joo Chiat. Just a couple of minutes beyond ABC are the KTV lounges and other such shenanigans that take place on Joo Chiat. There’s also the residential areas(my house is just down the road!) and the rest of Greater Katong. ALL these people, it seems, frequent ABC because 1. It’s good 2. It’s cheap 3. It’s open 24⁄74. It’s right there. If you go in the morning to early afternoon, you can get good prata, maybe nasi lemak and various other things. If you see a pack of Nasi Lemak on the table, dig right in; they’ll charge you for it later. Later in the evening you can order Nasi Goreng($ 3 or more depending if you want veggie or meat) or Mee Goreng(this is sometimes available earlier too). It’s also interesting to note that the big 3-storey semi-detached house next to it belongs to ABC too, and all their staff stay there. They clearly doing well, since they’ve managed to stick around the competitive streets of Katong/Joo Chiat for so long… and they’ve got a house to prove it! Tip: Morning fix Kopi-O is da bomb.
