Westermans Fisk

I have to say, I was not too excited to try yet another Swedish fish restaurant in Stockholm, but what a fantastic surprise this was!
The menu did not read like the typical «herring, skagen, etc etc etc» like everywhere else in Stockholm — instead was fish tacos, lobster burger and so on… Fun, new and certainly delicious food! The prices were astronomical in comparison to like restaurants around town — was it worth it — I’m not 100% sure… I think maybe they could benefit from lowering just a little bit.
The only other part of the whole experience that was not my favorite — the EXTREMELY high tables /​chairs. These are not your typical bar stools — they are about 5 inches higher — to the point I needed a hand to boost myself up onto the chair… and certainly it is not convenient with children.
Service was standard for Sweden.
This place is 100% about the food!

I came here for lunch on a Wednesday around 12:30. It wasn’t so busy that we didn’t get a table (last one) but it was emptying out by 1. I got the dillkött and I liked it although I had the impression the meat could have just been a bit more tender. My friend from the south of Sweden where there are more seafood restaurants said the fish was good — I think she had Cod. I know Swedes don’t like to stuff themselves but it wasn’t very big, I needed to eat more afterwards and could have easily eaten 2 of the dishes. They came out very quickly so if you’re in a rush, that’s nice.
There’s a neat little alcove with a big table in the corner for bigger groups. I liked that room, it looked cozy. The main room has an interesting feel to it, kind of like you are at a fish store, but I can’t say I’m a huge fan of the very high stool chairs /​tables. It makes sense for the places though.
Overall I liked it and I would come back!

We found this place near our hotel during a brief visit to Stockholm, and were delighted we did. The food was amazing – one of the best seafood meals any of us ever had. And the guys serving us were super friendly and helpful. Don’t miss.
