My band and I were staying next door at Motel L and really needed some food before we played a gig that evening. The staff recommended we try out Pipes of Scotland as it was right next door and meant to have great food. Right off the bat we fell in love because of the cool, library/den-esque décor which gave the whole restaurant a homely, warm feel– something hard to find in a place so very far away from my homeland(Australia). Our server was super friendly and constantly made sure we were topped up with drinks the entire time we were dining. We ordered some fries with aioli to start and the portions were huge! We were starving so this got us off to a great start already! When it came to Mains, five of us ordered the Pipes Burger and the sixth man ordered the Sausages. The general consensus was that the food was excellent! The burgers were juicy and well flavoured and the sausages were well cooked and tasty. Definitely wish we could have eaten here again before leaving Sweden!

This place is great, especially if you are staying at motel l. They serve lunch and dinner, have a great beer selection, food isn’t gourmet, but very good pub food. Nice for solo travelers.

Upon arrival, I checked the Martensdql hood to find a late dinner, only to find this as the only option. This area is transforming from industrial to new apartmwnts, offices and the like. Though is was dubbed British pub food, i was pleasantly surprised. My experience with British fare is rather greasy, but this was none the like. I opted for the wienersnitzel(yes I know not British, mostly for German tourists but I don’t have often) It had a lovely sauce with onions, herbs and tomatoes and roasted potatoes on the side. The bar could get a bit lively depending on who came in. Peoplw were friendly. An older Swedish gentleman looked at me and started saying something in Swedish, something good I think, only a harbinger of the countless people to come who all think I’m Swedish.(Im only half Swedish). As the neighborhood grows, this is a good start for food fare to come!

A comfy, well-appointed & friendly little British-style pub & eatery, directly next door to the also-newly opened Motel L. According to the web site, it’s the fourth & newest location of a local Swedish chain. I came here to watch the World Cup final, being broadcast on a single large-screen TV. Staff was very personable & accommodating, despite my arrival just as the kitchen was closing. As with everything in Stockholm, it was a little pricy — a burger, fries, slaw & Brooklyn Brewery IPA cost around $ 33 American. Aside from the price, the food was pretty good, especially by «pub» standards. One minor complaint: I’m immediately suspicious of any place that tries to trick me into thinking it serves fancy ketchup by pouring cheaper stuff into a Heinz bottle. That seems to have been the case here, based on the condiment’s runniness, which meant I inadvertently covered my fries in it.(Note to restauranteurs: Heinz may be more expensive, but customers will tend to use less of it, due to the patience required in pouring. In the end, you’re probably not doing your budget any favors with this strategy.)
