We had the tasting menu with wine pairings that lasted for 3 hours… This was my all time favorite dining experience so far… The food was unique, fun and inspiring… Unlikely combinations and imaginative twists on some classic Swedish dishes. Every single course was delicious! If you live in Stockholm, this is a must!

We are Americans who visited Lux recently and I was blown away. My meal at Lux was one of the more memorable of my lifetime(comprable to French Laundry in Napa, CA.) We ordered the 5 course menu with wine pairings, and the complexity and creativity coming out of the kitchen really impressed me, not to mention the freshness and quality of the ingredients for each dish. The presentation was unmatched, service was impeccable and they even met my husband’s request to have a rose on the table upon our arrival to surprise me for Valentine’s Day. The meat and fish courses we spectacular, the marie apple«sorbet» was less impressive, but the amuse bouche dishes(there were many) were incredible as were the desserts. This was a very special dinner, and the very expensive price tag reflected that. But as a once in a lifetime meal, it was worth it!

Really professional staff, some what remotely located place, but worth the trip. Great wine list. Well worthy of its Michelin star

Lux is a Michelin gold star restaurant located in one of the old buildings to the Electrolux company(get it, Lux?). All the food is sourced locally(in Sweden) and near the entrance of the restaurant there is a very cool map showing where their food comes from. The food is excellent and well worth the money and increase on the waistline. Service is average and on the day I was there, decidedly cold and unfriendly. Unfortunately for the amount we spent, it’s unacceptable. But sometimes you can only judge a restaurant in Sweden by the food and not the service(otherwise many could be one stars). The shorter of the fixed menus took around 3 hours to complete and for me, someone of small statue, I was stuffed silly. Well, my husband was as well. We had the best reindeer filet ever. It was like butter and wine married each other. If I could split the rating, I would give five stars to the food and two stars to the service. On a upside, after emailing and complaining about the poor service we did receive an apology(no compensation however).
