We enjoy watching food programs on tv. After watching Jamie Oliver do his thing for so many years on so many programs, we figured we would give the local branded Jamie’s in Stockholm a taste test for a special night out on the town. I had the steak and my wife had pasta. We had to wait quite a while to make our order, but the food came quickly. Fresh ingredients. Pleasant in presentation. Boring.

The food was good, not outstanding and pricey for what you get. Having said that, we actually ate here twice, after long days of sightseeing and conferences, because it was convenient to our hotel and the wait staff was friendly and efficient.

I have been to Jamie’s several times to try different dishes. I could not find my own«wow» taste or dish there. I think personnel working there needs better training.

So… «Jamie oliver»… great expectations… Let’s read the reviews… hum, it’s bad? really? Let’s go and check it out… I went for lunch. The truth is, I was expecting it to be crowded and that I would be denied a table. It WAS crowded but in less than 5 minutes I was seated! Good room staff! I had no clue what to order. The menu is really small. I love goat cheese and felt like trying the salad but I was recomended to go for the Carbonara. And so I did. The«funny» thing about«countries» is that food is prepared according to what you are used to. It is not a «habit» to use garlic like Mediterranean countries do. It was the first time I had a Carbonara with onion(I had avoided Carbonaras in Sweden for this reason) instead of garlic… and I liked it! The onion was crispy and so was the bacon. Again, considering I am «Iberian», I am totally used to a different Carbonara(loads of cream, garlic, loads of tiny bits bacon and cooked-ham — skinka — and the egg is normally cooked and mixed with the cream). Nonetheless, I liked it. I had dessert — tiramissu — and it was ok… It’s not my «YAY» place of selection… I don’t see myself getting on a bus to go there on purpose but, should I be in the area, it is a possible choice.

Big big BIG disappointment! I’ve been a fan of Jamies for a long time and during our visit to Stockholm we lined up a babysitter(for our one and only datenight) so we could try out his restaurant. We live in California and only visit Sweden once every 2 years or so, and we don’t get out much in general because of our kids. so yes, we were very excited for our visit. We made reservations at 7pm and were happy we did so when we arrived and discovered there were 10 people in line to get inside. Got seated pretty promptly. The server was SOOO slow and it took forever to order. I got the chicken and my hubby got some steak. My chicken arrives and it is RAW! Yuck! Point it out to the server and switch my order to a hamburger. ask for well done(to be on the safe side, since the kitchen seem to want to undercook a bit). By the time I get my hamburger my hubby is all done. And guess what. the burger is RAW as well. Ugh! I order my steak medium rare, so I dont mind a bit of red. but a completely raw patty with a charcoal colored outside. No thank You. We did get a 10% discount, but our date night was pretty much ruined anyhow. The restaurant is very tiny and it feels like you are sitting on top of each other. The service is slow, both at front of house and at the table. Only positive is the location(we parked in the hotel garage) and the cute napkins I bought on the way out.

This was our second visit to Jamie’s Italien in Stockholm Stureplan. After our last visit we were extremely disappointed, both of the food and the service, so we decided to give it another chance. For starters we had the CRAB&AVOCADOBRUSCHETTA and the ROYALCAPRESESALAD. The bruschetta was hard, cold and super thin. It didn’t taste much at all. From the ingredients(fresh crab, avocado, apple, chili, mint and lemon) you could actually expect a cascade of flavours but it was just bland. The salad(roasted tomatoes, buffalo mozzarella, prosciutto and basil) was also a disappointment. Not so much because of the taste but more because of how it was presented. It was more of a soggy mix of tomatoes with some ham slices on top. The tiny few pieces of buffalo mozzarella was embarrassing. As main we ordered the GRILLEDPORKCHOP and the ITALIENSTEAKFRITES. As sides we had the FUNKYCHIPS and CRUNCHYKALESLAW. The pork chop in itself was not bad in taste but somewhat boring with a totally tasteless kohlrabi to it. The funky chips were entirely soaked in oil and as a result they were soggy and too greasy. The steak was a featherblade steak and obviously very thin. Because of that it got cold pretty quick. The taste was bland and nothing that really challenged the taste buds. The kale slaw was very crunchy, as it should, but also totally tasteless. We ordered the EPICBROWNIE for desert. It should come with Amaretto ice cream and caramelised popcorn but the waiter informed us that they served it with vanilla ice cream instead. The brownie was very soft and not chewie at all(a good brownie should be a bit chewie). In addition it had a taste of flour. When it comes to the service there is so much more to wish for. The waiter was slow, obviously inexperienced and felt not engaged at all. We had to wait pretty long between the different dishes and also to have the empty plates removed, we never got our water carafe refilled, the empty glasses were left on the table after new full ones came in, we only got a spoon for the brownie, and… I could go on forever here. Overall the food is not of especially high quality and the portions are very small. We actually considered going to a second restaurant after Jamie’s because we were still hungry when we left. For the price you pay for the food at Jamie’s you can easily get food of higher quality served by people that know what they are doing and are capable of giving good service. I definitely don’t recommend this restaurant to anyone. We will not give Jamie’s Italien another chance.

I would be lying if I said that I went here without high expectations, being that I really like what jamie Oliver does when he cooks and everything beyond. I would also be lying if I said that it was the best meal I’ve ever had. We went for lunch because it was that or mcdonalds, sadly I should have picked mcdonalds. at least for my 2 year old daughter. The lunch meny consists of two dishes for each day of week. They also have three other food items available every day. We went with the pasta pomodoro — not knowing what that was. We could have asked. but I like when a menu kind of explains what something is. We did however ask if we could order from the kids menu and luckily we could. Went with fish sticks for my daughter. The food was relatively fast, my daughter didn’t like the fish sticks. no real surprise because she’ll like something one day and hate it the next. She had some of my pasta and liked it tho, I thought it was. meh. I’ve had better pasta. The service was good. I was happy that they could accommodate our double stroller and a single stroller situation without fuss. Our waiter was very friendly. I’m used to the American custom of always asking how the food is and being almost over attentive so it takes time to get used to the opposite. I’d like to go back to explore and try the full menu, kind of feels unfair to review when there is so little to review. Big plus for the Apple juice. got a nomnom from the pickiest food critic in the world.

Food is good but service is ridiculous. Not only do their employees have no sense of service what so ever, they are inexperienced(and thus extremely slow) and even worse we even had employees being rude to us. Their manager is just making things worse by being incredibly arrogant, using the restaurant as her office space while the experience is a mess for her guests. Tried it twice, same experience both times.

I was there when they just had opened and I had high expectations. I ordered a pasta bolognese and their truffle fries. My pasta bolognese was really bad. The meat was hard and not tasty at all. My own pasta bolognese is 100 times more tastier. The truffle fries was not good either. My friend ordered truffle pasta and she didn’t like it at all. The food is really boring and I would not recommend it.

What a busy restaurant. Big and really good organised. The food was good. The bruchetta a little bit boring and highly in price. The salad and the pasta were great. The staff is really friendly and professional.

Very nice food and good price. We took the croquetas as an starter and they were delicious. The pasta was very nice and we took lemon cake and brownie for desert, the lemon cake was fresh and tasty. Very good price, we paid 225kr each(just drunk water)

We decided to give Jamie’s a try in spite of okay-ish reviews. I ordered the caprese salad for a starter and the penne arabbiata for main. The salad which was more like brushetta minus the bread on a cracker was flavorful and delicious. The penne was just okay. Not much flavor and okay heat. Rounded out the meal with the brownie and a café latte. The brownie was not overly sweet and portion size was good. Service was okay. Not exceptional or subpar. I would go back again but try a different main.

I was first at Jamie’s Italian few days after it opened and left disappointed. Tonight I decided it deserved a second chance. Although the quality of the service improved, the same I can’t say for the food. As before, the pasta dishes are well executed but they lack personality. A good pasta dish is more than just cooked al dente pasta and this is where the concept of the restaurant starts to break. The arancini risotto balls were tasteless and dry, a far cry from the ones I tried in Italy. The selection of italian breads was once again old stale bread, uncomfortable to chew. It comes with the tiniest bowl of olive oil which you are forced to ask for a refill. In the end the concept is just confusing, it is neither a real italian restaurant and neither it represents Jamie Oliver food ideology. Nothing feels authentic and I leave once again feeling empty.

Really nice food and the dining room is very nice. Feels rustic and what I expected. I had the pasta vongole and some fried cheese thingies, the cheese thingies was really good. Pasta was well made and as expected, which is very good since my expectations was quite high and I do like my vongole. However, the servers was… sub par. I asked about the cheese they had on the special burger and the cheese thingies. If it was cow’s milk or goat’s milk. Since I really dislike goats cheese. And two servers could not answer the question, and the first one didnt even made a effort to get the info. Server was also very very quite so it was incredible hard to hear what was said. Took quite a while to get the food, this was during lunch and about half the dining room was full, so quite a disappointment. conclusion Food good, serving bad and took a while to get the food. Will visit again? Most definitely for a dinner, going to try the stake. 21 days dry aged according to menu. Much excite!

I liked this place. Service was good, our waiter was very cheerful and polite. The food itself was very good. I had the rib eye steak and tiramisu. Ony little comment would be that the food was rather salty-very good-but salty. That said i would still order the same thing next time. Worth mentioning is that the prices are very reasonable. Will definatley be going back.

Jamie’s Italian was ok! The food was pretty casual and so were the prices. I don’t think I would be adverse to coming back here again, but it wasn’t my favorite place in Stockholm. Is it just me or does eating out«home cooking» style recipes made by a British celebrity chef who does Italian style food all seems a little confused? I didn’t really get it. I thought the pumpkin ravioli was really pretty good, but I ordered the small portion(which is not even big enough to feed a 5 year old child). I highly recommend getting the big one. The side order of truffle oil parmesan sprinkled french fries were the best part of the meal but they were so hot we all burned our mouths. It was one of those«but it tastes so good… ow…ow…ow» kinda situations. Lol! The side salad that the waitress said was the«best» was mostly lettuce and really uninteresting. The mixed drinks were a little weird too. It was like getting vodka or gin with whole unsweetened berries mashed at the bottom of each glass. I thought they were a little like drinking super sour candy at the bottom and plain gin or vodka at the top. If you go here I recommend the full sized portion main course and pasta dishes(and the fries). I would also probably stick to the extensive wine list and avoid the mixed drinks. Like I said, Jamie’s was ok! It reminded me of a lot of average American style chain reseraunts, but in the words of my two little Unilocal stars«Meh. I’ve experienced better.»

I’d like to point out the fact that Jamie Oliver is not a famous Michelin Guide chef. He is famous for his simplistic and fresh way of cooking. Having the right mindset to where you are going is one key factor to a successful meal. My friends and I tried the truffle pasta with butter, the fish plank and the shrimp linguini. The dishes were simple and tasty although my pasta(shrimp linguini) was not al dente but a little on the hard side. The restaurant itself is very modern and the décor is nice and all but the noise during lunch was awful. Have in mind that it was only half full that evening, can you imagine when it is actually full? Tips: instead of talking a big plate of pasta I would recommend taking the small one(there are two sizes) and eating something else on the side.

Service at this place is so bad that it will actually make you laugh. They brought us the wrong appetizers, but refused to acknowledge that they made the wrong order and insisted that it was the right appetizer anyway. It took forever to get a refill on the drinks, and when we asked why it took so long that waitress just made up some random excuse, which seem to be the standard approach to any question whatsoever. The table next to us got their main course before their appetizers, and we noticed another table close to us also being served the wrong things. The food itself was substandard as well, very plain. Jamie’s is nothing more than a TGI’s with the name of a famous TV chef slapped on to it.

Had high expectations for this place. I so wanted to like this place but I just can’t. The best part about this restaurant is not the food, but the rustic décor of this place. The food was sub standard at best. We ordered the shrimp linguine, linguine with clam, crispy squid, and mini sliders for the kids. Both noodle dishes were in one big clump. On the plus side, the kid’s sliders were really cute. The salad they brought the kids with the sliders was missing dressing. Service was average. We received our appetizer with our main dish. What a disappointment…
