We were super hungry on a Sunday and our favorite sandwich place just down the street from Alexandra was closed. So we headed into the Alexandra for some grub. Of course, I had to have a pint while I was there, b/c it is, after all, a British pub. When we walked in, the woman working there was pleasant enough and told us to have a seat in the eating area(off to the left from the main entrance). I ordered the lamb roast(per the suggestion of the waitress), and my friend got some soup. The food was as expected — fairly bland and over-salted. The soup was particular over-salted. The beer was decent enough, and the service quite lovely. Overall it was pretty much as expected, and not a place that I would venture off to given the chance. But if it’s Sunday and you need some grub and a pint — by all means, make the stop. Prices are mostly reasonable — though I’d never pay that much for that type of food in the States. It’s definitely got early-bird special written all over it if it were served in the US — if you catch my drift.

This pub was part of my early youthin fact from when I was born until Eighteen. I lived in Sugden Road. yards from the pub! I went for lunch the other day as my car was in for an MOT, being done locally. Pleased to say that it is still great pub. Very upmarket from ‘ahem’.certain years ago! Excellent menu and prices. In fact you can get TWO lunches for £6.50.can’t be bad! Brilliant choice of alesso good I will return when not driving.
