We were walking in the rain in Royal Tunbridge Wells looking for a great restaurant and we found it at The Tunbridge Wells Bar and Grill. It is a very large restaurant with baskets of fresh fruits, vegetables, and breads displayed on a large farm table. We were led to the back enclosed patio(the roof opens with good weather). The music was uncomfortably loud and we had to ask the hostess if it could be turned down so that we could converse. We loved that they had a section showcasing the fresh fish and meat. We ordered oysters, pâté, duck, beet salads, and steak. We had a dessert that is quite beloved in Ireland-fruit with several scoops of different ice creams. Everything was very tasty, beautifully presented, and really fresh. English food has come a long way since my last visit to Great Britain. In warm weather, this would be a delightful place to sit under the stars.

Have visited a number of times with friends and family, always has a wonderful atmosphere whether sitting inside or out. The menu is varied and interesting, don’t often order the same thing twice and haven’t been disappointed yet It is quite expensive compared to similar local restaurants, although probably has a more consistent menu. Sitting out back under on the patio is perfect for a meal on a summer evening(even in the winter — it is covered and heated). Will be coming back again and again.

Visited for drinks here before and had such a wonderful time we came back for dinner with friends! The service waz flawless, the cocktails are super delicious paticularly the espresso martini!(Even a fave with the hubby!) We ate steaks with potatoes and veg and was all cookef to perfection! The ambience was lively and glamarous but not over bearing, we chose to sit in the slightly more relaxed bar/restaurant area with a view of the kitchen and a lovely chilled but smart atmosphere. Looking forwards to going back!

Great back patio that is covered in the winter. Very nicely decorated and friendly staff. Robust menu selection with great appetizers and extensive meat and seafood selection. We only had appetizers but this were sufficient.

Good food, good service and good bar. Best thing is the great outdoor seating area, under cover but feels like Summer! Quite pricey for area/offerings.

Everything is fantastic about this place! From the ambiance, the service, to the Fantastic Food; you won’t be disappointed! The outside patio has been recently renovated and they have put in a barbeque for their new Grill Menu! This menu is ‘To Die For’! Soooooo yummy! I miss my barbeque back in the States when I’m over here, so to find a place that new how to grill their food to perfection was a Godsend! The outside bar is fantastic with lots of Yummy drinks to choose from and has a lounging area with really comfy couches where you can just kick back and chill from a day of shopping or just to have a drink and relax! Whatever your poison you JUSTHAVE to try this place! I am giving this place a thumbs up and will be recommending it to my friends and family!

Just returned from eating here after paying nothing for our meal. The food was excellent; the atmosphere was excellent; the service was dire. It took 2 hours from ordering to walking out the door without dessert. To make it worse we complained after our starter and our main, but no effort was made to bring food quicker. The final straw was after complaining about how long our main took to come(1 hour) our waitress said she’d bring the dessert menu immediately, only to wander off and start clearing a table. At this point we complained vigorously and, to give them credit, the whole meal and drinks were on the house. Glaciers will move in the time of the service at this restaurant. Disappointing as the food was to a very good standard.

This restaurant is a lovely, uncomplicated but upmarket restaurant along Tunbridge Wells High Street. Décor is simple and unpretenious, but clean and modern. The meal I had here was absolutely delicious — Swordfish with chilli beans, however my boyfriend’s steak was overcooked. It then transpired they had brought him the wrong one, which they apologised for before we’d even said anything and offered him his meal for free or a replacement so I was impressed with the service despite this hiccup. Prices ranges from pasta dishes at about £8 all the way to expensive steaks etc at nearer £20 so it really depends on what you order.

This is a very modern stylish sort of place and as such probably not the best place for the whole family. The décor is rich, bright and clean and you can’t help feel that the cost of the food might be slightly more than it should be to pay for the upkeep of the place. However, having said that, the food is very good and there is an excellent selection of wines, many by the glass, although being Tunbridge Wells expect to pay about 5pounds per glass. The Asian starter plate is particularly good and tastes fresh, unprocessed and not overpowered with salt or spice. All in all a good place to go with a client or a partner but if you’re looking for a cosy meal this is not the place.

Stumbled up on this place when we were in Tunbridge Wells a Sunday evening looking for a place for dinner. Nice modern feel to the place and friendly, polite staff. Food was excellent. Unfortunately the weather was bad, so couldn’t make use of the georgous garden they have.

A complete face lift(following the demise of the dreadfully disappointing Tootsies), new owners and a re-furbished garden patio have made this a firm favourite with local business users and food-lovers. A definite French feel(most of the staff appear French) with international influences on the menu and wine list. The garden area is a courtyard — not well known enough to get crowded — plus the reastaurant looks into an open kitchen and there’s a conservatory area if too nippy to sit out. The weekend brunch option is an innovation at weekends — smoothies, cereals, butties(old spot Gloucester sausages) plus the standard full English breakfast(w/black pudding). The main reastaurant menu is extensive, to say the least The ‘Shared’ option is great if you fancy a ‘grazing’ lunch — there’s a mezze option and an Asian platter. The service is attentive and friendly — requests to move table were dealt with swiftly and un-fussily. I’d recommend reviewing the menu on the website before you visit — we always take way too long and change our minds right up to the point of ordering. If you’re dining alone then you can request to sit at the bar — which is spacious and very pleasant. As it’s T Wells it’s not cheap — Fish, Chips, Mushy Peas and tartare sauce is £13.95, an 8 oz fillet steak £18.75.
