I thought this pub was lovely, if I lived in Tunbridge Wells, it would be a place I take guests to, it’s very English and in a wonderful location. It seems a bit unfair to write a review about one experience so I will go again to confirm but this review is based on one experience only. I went for Sunday lunch a couple of weeks ago with my Dad. Service was friendly and good, atmosphere and location are great. Dad had roast Beef which was good, a bit overcooked, but nice. I had roast chicken which was extra disappointing since it was some(baked) chicken breasts rather than roast chicken, and I’ve been out of the country for several years, craving a Sunday roast! I’m not sure what the gravy was made from, the Yorkshire pudding was nice, potatoes were a bit underdone, the veg was really nice.

I love this pub and it’s so versatile. A venue of choice for me for a quick drink, lunch, dinner or pub crawling. At the top of town and surrounded by the picturesque 250 acres that is the Tunbridge Wells Common, you could be forgiven for missing it entirely. The building, like so many in the area, is a beautiful period building dating back to the 18th Century, but quite uniquely Mount Edgcumbe boasts its very own 4th Century Cave as part of the interior(yes 4th!), which I have enjoyed many a candle lit drink in. Gorgeous garden, gorgeous food and one Sunday a month they now host a live music night introducing new local talent. A perfect pub that word has it is even good enough for Brad Pitt.

Doubles as a brasserie and pub. Great location down its own winding drive off Mount Ephraim, or you can stroll up from town via the common and through the big pub garden, which is a great place to chill out on warm summer nights. Haven’t been for brasserie purposes, but it’s a great place for a couple of Sunday night pints. The Harveys is good, and they do a delicious still cider — best drunk in halves as it’s quite potent. And it’s organic(if that’s your thing). Extra plus points to note: it’s built into rocks and has a grotto, and you’re quite likely to get a plate of roast potatoes and Yorkshires and a pot of gravy appearing on your table on a Sunday evening. And a mention has to go to the intriguing eye-level fishtank in the men’s toilet — gives you something to focus on…

One of the classic pubs of Tunbridge Wells. A beautiful weather boarded place located on The Common with a comfortable interior and its own(genuine!!!) grotto. Well kept Harveys, very friendly bar staff & good music on Sunday night.

Lovely setting, lovely food, lovely people. This place is tucked away from the road down a gravel path and is a beautiful setting, summer or winter. Perfect for a romantic meal or a family get together, their sunday roasts are fantastic.
