Burgy’s is like Jekyll and Hyde. By day you will see a lot of pensioners and ‘caf’ types sitting down to a cup of tea or coffee(and you can easily imagine a cigarette also, prior to the smoking ban) or a plate of scampi and chips. Then it transforms into a kebab takeaway and delivery service in the evening. They have a pretty standard menu that includes kebabs, burgers, fried chicken, jacket spuds and a few salads. They also have a range of pizza on offer. In this regard, it’s a quite a good place to order from if you are with a group of friends. As they say on their menu there’s ‘SOMETHING for everyone…’ that they offer a delivery service is nice also, if you are feeling lazy or have just got back from the pub and want something to soak up the booze. The trouble is that the quality just isn’t there. I can think of better examples of each of the items they serve from businesses that focus on a more limited menu, but do what they do well. In Burgy’s defence, they are cheap and you can get a meal for £3-£4, so maybe one shouldn’t expect a la carte cuisine. This is the kind of place I would use as a back up if my preferred establishments were closed.
