Went here for a work function last night and have to say I was very impressed. A buffet was provided and as I’m vegan I emailed ahead to check if there would be a vegan options available. Well they only went and made me a separate wee platter and it was delightful. Stuffed cucumbers, lettuce with a cous cous salad on top, houmous, sundried tomatoes, and some delish tortillas and a wee pot of berries. The omnivores I was with were raving about the food they were eating too and there was plenty of it. The only minor negative point I would make is we had booked and paid to have an area up stairs and there was about 70 of us. The space wasn’t very big and there was 2 other bookings in the same area reserved. I didn’t think the area that we had was big enough for the number of people there. I would suggest if such a large group is reserving the upstairs then it should be the whole upstairs area entirely. Especially as we had paid £15pp.

A snap decision to eat out… or more accurately to get a drink after a long day at work, and we ended up here. I am always ambivalent about All Bar One, it’s never a first choice and this visit reminded me why. It’s an odd mix of bar/restaurant downstairs, which means when it gets busy you can spend your meal trying to shout over the boorish idiots(always old guys in suits, with rolexes and gold link bracelets). Add to that the inconsistent service and some odd and overpriced dishes and… yeah so far so meh. Let’s start with the service, our waiter(or rather the one who talked to us the most) was a little distracted and quietly spoken, not a great impression to make. I opted for three tapas style dishes. All of which were tasty enough, ignoring the thick chewy, teeth breaking piece of ‘crackling’ on the pork dish, but none of them were anything particularly special. Especially not at the price/portion size! A couple of beers and then we left, somewhat non-plussed. I won’t be hurrying back.

All Bar One is a city centre staple for the business classes and girl’s night out crowds, located on St. Vincent Street. My review is based on being in for a few drinks only rather than sitting down for food. The bar and general space is clean, modern and has an air of class without being snobby. There is an upstairs function suite also, which looked like it would be great for a party given the location and views out across the street. That’s just guesswork though, I was only passing to get into the men’s toilet. The bar is well stocked with a small selection of Scottish craft beers, regular brands and bottled ales. I went in around tea time so the crowds hadn’t built up yet. However, by the time I was leaving the place was rammed with lots of men in bootcut jeans and black shoes(classic middle class dad efforts) and women wearing too much make up with all the saggy bits pulled in. So I think my timing was right. Didn’t strike me as a place I’d spend an evening. All in, okay bar in the city centre for an afternoon pint with a mate or missus.

Simple, I know, but my favourite thing about coming here is getting smarties with your coffee. I am not sure why this appeals to me, maybe it reminds me of being a kid and getting a small treat you weren’t that allowed too much of. Other pluses Really nice building. polite staff. Negative Quite pricey beer Food is average, occasionally good. Right, back to the smarties.

I have only been in Glasgow a couple of days and had not yet found a restaurant that really hit the spot. All Bar One fixed that. I had a small prawn dish that was a perfect sized starter with just the right touch of spice. I then ordered the chicken pad thai. It was not a traditional Thai style pad thai, but it was very delicious, as well. More of a Cantonese style with peanuts placed atop vs Thai style with peanut sauce. Very nice portions of shrimp in the small plate and chicken in the pad thai. The servers were very attentive and wanted to know in detail how I felt about each dish. And the ambiance is very relaxed and modern. This is absolutely my favorite restaurant I have experienced in Glasgow. I very highly recommend this restaurant.

This is a great place. Don’t come unless you have loads of money, but hey. At least you will get nice people coming here. Looks great. 2 floors. And the Burgers are great. Worth a visit.

I assumed All Bar One wasn’t my kind of place, so I’d never been there before. I was wrong(it happens, sometimes)! It’s a super busy place on a Friday, and especially on a bank holiday weekend. It’s a bit of a business crowd with folk who’ve knocked off work, and when we arrived at 7pm there was quite a few people who were steaming drunk bumping around the bar which could be a bit off-putting. The amazing Clare S had reserved us some seats and the waitress booted the people sitting at our table which was nice. Our waitress told us that we had table service all night and to order all drinks/food from her — what a god-send in a heaving bar. I wasn’t drinking(epic fail) so my review is mostly about the food. Now, I won’t lie, I didn’t expect much. The menu is interesting, sure, but I just didn’t think it would deliver in the flavour department. I was wrong. We tried a selection of the small dishes and all of them were either really good, or outstanding. My favourites were the chicken skewers(with a delicious grilled flavour), the little mezze which had a really lovely fresh pomegranate salad in it, the truffled goats cheese(massive portion!) and the patatas bravas. I would go out of my way to go back here for food, it was that good. They do 3 dishes for £15 or 5 for £25, or they had a special deal where you got a bottle of fizz + 3 dishes for £25. They also had some wines which were no longer on the menu reduced to very, very reasonable prices. I have to say, I really enjoyed All Bar One and would head back for food and drinks again. Service was exceptional and our waitress never took longer than a couple of minutes with our drinks. They also have a good range of non-alcoholic drinks if you’re driving.

After deciding on All Bar One as a venue for the first Fine for Wine night(essentially an opportunity to go out, try some new wines and have a giggle), I was intrigued to see how All Bar One would shape up on a busy Friday night. It always looks SUPER busy in here, and I’ve never popped in for a drink, so I wasn’t sure what I expected. As we arrived, we were seated at a couple of tables(but boy am I glad I reserved!)…and heard that thankfully we had a server for the night, and so had no need to navigate the really busy bar area. After some great wine recommendations — we also got the chance to choose from wines now reduced and off the menu, lovely touch — we ordered a load of small plates. Patatas bravas, salmon gravalax and prawns on top of a whole load of things I can’t even remember. I hadn’t considered how this place would be for food, and I’ll definitely come back one night for a proper meal. The only reason this place doesn’t get more stars, is mainly for the over-crowded ‘is it a bar, is it a club’ kinda vibe — like, it’s seriously busy in here, and for that reason it could sometimes be hard to hear the people at the table with us. I’ll definitely come back here though, and want to sample even more of their pretty extensive wine collection.

My Mum and I fancied drinks and some light bites on Saturday evening having been shopping in town all day. Still not knowing places in Glasgow, but knowing All Bar One from Southampton so opted to go in here. It was busy with not a lot of free tables. Mum and I spotted one but the group behind us rather rudely stormed in front and took it. Karma helped us as a couple over at a window table were just leaving and caught our eye and so we sat there. The window table was further away from the bar and perfect for people watching. Our waitress, Heather was lovely. Our bottle of prosecco appeared quickly and my porn star martini cocktail soon after. It comes with a shot of prosecco which is rather odd but cool none the less. The table was a bit small so 5 tapas later was tight. We had patatas bravas, prawn tempura, prawns in garlic and chilli oil, and 2 types of chicken skewers. The food was excellent. My personal favourite was the prawns in garlic and chill oil. All Bar One was the perfect spot for some drinks and food. The table service was lovely to have as the queue at the bar was rather long. Will definitely be revisiting.

All Bar One is designed to appeal primarily to women — as such, it’s not somewhere that’s ever crossed my mind as a place to go. We stopped in for an hour as we were meeting friends there prior to an awesome dinner at Urban Brasserie. It was really busy, with a predominantly female clientele. It has huge windows all around, which I totally get is so that ladies feel safe and unenclosed — for me, I just felt like I was in a goldfish bowl. It also has a kind of clinical feeling to it, like there’s no personality behind any aspect of it. The staff were super attentive and kept stopping at our table top check we didn’t need another drink or food. Overall, I don’t like this bar and will probably never go there again. But it gets 3 stars from me as I think it fulfils its function — I’m just not the audience it’s aiming for.

Went here with 9 friends for a nice Saturday lunch and on reflection TOTALLY regret it! Here’s the bullet pointed version! * Over 1 Hour For Food * Table Service Non Existent * No Atmosphere * 2 Meals Were Wrong * 1 Meal Totally Forgot About * Waitress Offered No Explanation * Manager Extremely Unhelpfull * Absolute Lack Of Communication With Customer * Food A Bit Over Priced For What You EVENTUALLY Get This was our first visit here and will never return.

Service with a smile, very reasonable prices, and a bustling atmosphere. All bar one is in the middle of the new ‘burger quarter’, but still stands on its own. Okay so it’s not individual or über trendy, but it’s a safe bet for a night out serving good quality food. We had the Tuesday tapas deal with 4 dishes plus a bottle of perfectly drinkable house wine for £20 — yes — £20!

My husband and I aren’t in town alone(okay we had the 4 month old with us but still) much these days but when he smashed his iPhone for the 2nd time we decided to use the opportunity to go out for brunch while it was repaired. We wandered around and tried several options(none of whom actually had a brunch menu) before we settled on All Bar One. They had a big sign out front promoting their any breakfast main + cocktail for £10 so we knew we’d be good to go. There was a fair selection of breakfast/brunchy mains and breakfast cocktails on offer. My husband went for the Full Breakfast plus potato hash and I opted for Pancakes with a side of bacon. The husband’s plate was all but licked clean so I’m going to say he enjoyed it. I did notice his toast was actually nice sliced bread rather than slices of toast which seems nice to me. My pancakes were, okay. They clearly weren’t made to order and had been made earlier in the day and reheated. I ate them but they were rather disappointing. I should have learned by now that I’ll never find proper pancakes in the UK but it’s a lesson I keep forgetting. The real star of breakfast was the hash – it was AMAZING. Totally like real American breakfast potatoes – salty, crispy and the spinach was a twist I hadn’t had before. Our two breakfasts, a coffee and the add on of hash came in at under £20 so not too shabby. If we go back again we might leave the car and give the cocktails a try as that £10 deal is a great offer and the cocktails sounded yummy. Plenty of space to get a pram in and lots of tables so an easy option for brunch in town.

I have said before, and I will say it again, I am not the hugest fan of All Bar One. However, this is the second time in a few weeks I have visited an ABO, and again was pleasantly surprised. I met a Scottish friend at Central train station on arrival into Glasgow. It was 8.30pm and having been sat on a train from Manchester since 5.15pm was very much in need of a drink. We took a short walk and decided on the All Bar One. We didn’t eat so can only comment on the drinks. I had prosecco, which was £4.95 per glass, and my friend had a daiquiri, which I think was only £5 or so. Thought this was good value, so we had a couple of rounds. The place had a nice feel about it and seemed to have a lot of the after work crowd in(albeit they were out quite late after work by that point). The staff were nice and service was quick. Overall, I’d say this is a good one to visit and I am definitely starting to change my mind about this chain.

All Bar One are currently doing a promotion giving out £5 free vouchers so being a natural tight-arse I thought i would pop in for the first time after my job interview today. I have to say the waiter — a handsome suave Italian looking bloke sped over almost immediately to serve and have to admit the service is top notch. If I had been a woman I might have been flattered so any ladees looking for a bit of eye candy may have a surprise. Alas not same could be said of the portions and prices. I went for the exotic sounding Japanese curry at… wait for it £11 and was commended by the helpful waiter on my excellent choice. I am not quite sure whether the waiter was commending me for my actual choice or bigging me up for wasting £11 and helping to fill the till — I couldnt believe the size of my curry — I do have a big beely that needs a good amount of grub to fill it up and to say this was a miniscule portion in my world is an understatement. Might look big in the pictures but that is a small soup plate we used to use at school for our custard. And look at how much chicken they gave me — 3 tiny chicken goujons stuck on top of a coffe cup size dollop of rice swimming in the admiteddly delicious river of Japanese curry sauce — £11 though cmon guys are you taking the jimmy riddle? A pint of cider at £4.40 — is that really a good lunchtime price — I had thought i would pop in with my £5 voucher and manage to get a drink and a sarnie and be left with change — Oh how things have changed these days with this thing they call Nouvelle Cuisine — in other words a grand French title for a small portion designed to maximise profits to the hilt — Despite what Michael Winner used to say! I must be really out of touch — Is that really what a pint of cider costs these days! I sadly have to admit that I ended up going to KFC(rapola) of all places to spend my other free coffee voucher and was so hungry i had to buy a pair of el cheapo 0.99p spicy wings to help me get home. My hot and sweaty walk down Union street had already burnt up all the calories from the Japanese curry. I then ended up at my mothers house for a nice big chicken dinner which satisfied as always — A lesson has been learnt — there is nothing quite so delicious and filling than yer maws homely grub… Yumm yumm thank you mum!!! I will be avoiding All-Bar-One from now on! Three stars purely for the service and admitedly tasty sauce ohh. and eye candy for the ladies!!!

Like to pay over the odds for beer? How about a a standard chain style pub meal at non standard prices? Like your chart music with extra cheese and clientèle that like to flash their snazzy designer gear in your face? If the answer is ‘Yes!’ to any of these question, then step right up as this is the place for you. Just put your platinum credit card behind the bar and let help All Bar One lighten your bank balance. Its fair to say, this place is not for me. I’ve probably said enough now, you get the picture. There are many better pubs and bars in the city, just look a little harder!

Visited here for the first time in a long time yesterday and was very disappointed. A pub or bar needs to have a personality of its own, created by the atmosphere, staff, customers, music and layout. This place is sadly lacking any positive features. I had a pint of Sierra Nevada which was flat, tasteless and very expensive.(I normally love SN) There is no buzz in the bar, the atmosphere is flat like the beer and the staff could hardly muster up a hello. This is a «wine bar» with no soul and is one I would recommend you miss as really it’s just a very bland place to have an expensive drink.

Like the class of this bar, it is always busy and they do a selection of great champagnes and cocktails. They are a little on the pricey side than a standard bar but the food is lovely. On my last visit the bar tender thought to advise us that it was unusual to get a slice of lime in our bottled beer, he had never heard of this before. Really?! I do like a cheese platter and prosecco whenever I go in.

We were a bit naughty and ended up having 2 bottles of wine… We had some chips which were a rip off at £2.75 for a teeny tiny portion and the trio of sliders which were tiny tiny tiny, and not worth £8.95. The waitress pulled her face when we asked to pay with 2 different cards and said if we wanted that she would have to go all the way back to the till to which I replied ok then so can you do that please and she really didn’t want to for whatever reason but she did it. It was nearly £50 for 2 bottles of the house wine the sliders and the chips, we shared the food btw!!! I won’t rush to go back there are much better places to eat and drink in Glasgow.

Had three of their tapas to share, and their chips as well. The chorizo with roast potatoes, which soaked in the oil with so much flavor. The fried goat cheese was kind of immaculate; thick, chewy and flavorful. my favorite was probably the roast duck with mango served on lettuce leaves not a whole lot of beer selection, but you got all the house favorites available. we got there twice before between 10 and 10:10 pm, and they had closed the kitchen. so if you want to enjoy any of their menu, i highly recommend getting there well before 9:45pm. great service though, friendly bartenders and servers. great spot for light, well cooked food and a relaxed bar, but a fun atmosphere
