What used to be Robertson’s Bar, a football pub, has now been done up and is similar in style to the Fountain or the Caley Sample Rooms. It’s got a reasonable range of cider but only had one real ale on tap in January. On a Saturday night we were pretty much the only people in the bar(except a couple who stayed for one drink) from about 8pm till close so it lacked a bit of atmosphere. The website says that the bar is open till 1am on Saturday but it closed at 11pm, this is probably as there wasn’t anyone else in. Defiantly worth trying again when it might be a bit busier. The food menu looked good and it’s child friendly during the day.

This has been taken over from Robbo’s bar(?) which I’m told used to be quite a rough pub. It’s now a lovely pub you can spend time in with friends & family — they seem to organise family days(see their facebook page ). We watched the Grand National in here on Saturday afternoon, it was busy-ish, we had great seats for the TV(they have bar stool tables & booths). Unfortunately their kitchen wasn’t up & running yet(we’re told that’ll happen next week) but they came round with free peanuts. They have Tenants & Stella on draught, lots of other lagers by the bottle. We paid just under £8 for a pint of Tenants & bottle of Peroni. Bar staff are friendly. It’s so nice to have a family pub instead of the usual drinking holes around this area, similar atmosphere to The Fountain & Caley Sample Rooms. I’m keen to try the food here so will update this when I’ve been back!
