There are a few things about The Forth Restaurant that are a mystery to me. I’ll get on to these in a minute, but first I’ll give you a brief run-down of its essential information. This restaurant is located in the popular Fountain Park in the Fountainbridge area of the city. This is a park that provides no shortage of things to do, with a busy cinema as well as a bowling alley. Whilst there are only a few places to eat, Pizza Hut and Nando’s are the most popular. We now get to the mysteries of this place. Firstly, it’s not the most popular place, which I can’t understand. In terms of food quality, it sits below Nando’s, but slightly above McCowan’s. At the two times I have visited, a Sunday lunch, and Wednesday dinner, there have only been maybe a maximum of 5 tables occupied in what is a fairly well-sized place. Its prime location, on the first floor right next to the entrance to Cineworld, should help it get more noticed. Even on the Wednesday night, when the whole park was busy, there were few people there. I guess it’s just not on people’s radar. When people visit this restaurant, they will enjoy their time. The food is fairly standard for what you’d expect from a pub or bar, and it’s all been very tasty. Prices are reasonable, and they even provide a piece of paper on the table, complete with wax crayons, to draw and doodle on as you please! All things considered, this is a place I would eat at again. I think it falls short by being too average, with nothing particularly distinctive about it. Give it a visit, and see if you agree!

The Forth is one of not very many eating options at FountainPark, which people mostly head along to for its cinema and bowling opportunities. If you’re not in the mood for the spiced up, or not, chicken variations at Nandos, then The Forth is the next option for a quick bite. That’s probably all I would make it at The Forth to be honest, a quick bite. There’s nothing particularly wrong with the food, it’s all pretty standard bar menu fare, and they do a good range of fajitas, it’s just not hugely inspiring. Although the actual restaurant is quite spacious and has some decent design going on, it feels a bit dimly lit, which in turn dims the atmosphere slightly. There are some good, inexpensive deals on cocktails and beers though, so this is a good call if you fancy a few convenient beverages post or pre cinema/bowling activity.
