The Mad Hatter

Rather tucked away off the beaten track The Mad Hatter should be on to a good thing now that the Haymarket development is progressing and The Spider’s Web has become a gin bar, increasing the number of drinking opportunities up and down Morrison Street. The basement function room also looks a good bet if you have a reasonably intimate event to host.
The food menu seemed pretty decent on the whole but we were only in for a drink. Craft beers are what the place leans towards so there is a reasonable range of those in bottles and on draught, although given that the two bottles we had were from the local area and Alloa you’d be forgiven for thinking you were in a more central location when it comes to paying up. Whether that’s the Chancellor’s fault I’ve no idea but it rather removes the place from consideration as anything more than a pit-​stop, at least for drinks.
