A bit funky place, definitely worth the attention. It is small, yes, but the underground bar space is not open all the time and the space on the main floor isn’t that big. The building reminds of an old deserted factory, unique Afro atmosphere, very friendly staff and a good musical menu. The night we visited the bar we joined a crowd of hippie looking people watching a Capoeira dance under the sounds of live music.

This is a small bar not to be confused with Voodoo Lounge above Café Royale. Voodoo Bar is an excellent small bar near Haymarket. You could easily walk past it without noticing it — if so you’re missing out! It has an African theme both to the music and the food options. We were there later in the evening so food wasn’t being served. They do a number of student offers — so my student friends were buying the £1.50 bottles of Corona drinks! For a small bar, it has a big flat screen tv showing sport. Light wooden floorboards with dark wood panels on the wall gives it a smart clean look. They have bright red sofa-​type seats too, so it’s defintely a place unlike any other.
