I am writing this review as a male student, who enjoys taking advantage of BYOB nature of many curry houses. You have been warned. Honestly, I’m not sure how enjoyable this curry house would be if looking for a quiet, and enjoyable dinner out. However, for a large group of people, looking to have a good time, and, god-forbid, «a» beer, then this restaurant is for you. The quality of the curry is fairly good, with the £10 deal(curry, rice, and naan between 2) being a must. The recent refurbishment has left it nicer than before, but you can’t expect stunning décor from a BYOB curry house. The location is fairly decent, with a bit of a walk needed if looking to head to a club after a «peaceful» dinner. Note: Ensure you are accompanied with sufficient volumes of beverage upon entry.

Nice food and decent prices. The rice is a tad bit too expensive though.

The newly refurbished Garam Massala, looks a little bit Glitzy for Cotham hill, and dare I say it quite tacky. if you have read any of my other curry house reviews, you would know that i am not a particularly big fan of Bristol curry houses– they aren’t bad but they are just very average. And this is pretty similar, it has a slightly larger menu than the other curry houses that surround it. However the food is pretty similar, A-OK, just as the rating says. The real sale point of this restaurant is the staff, who are about as good as it gets.
